Hi everyone, my name is Dawn and my husband and I live in England, UK with our little princess Mia Rose who is 3 years old. I am 20 weeks pregnant with our second child and yesterday we found out that we are expecting a little boy!!! We are both still in shock I think as for some reason we were not expecting the sonographer to say the baby was a boy.

We had wanted the sex of this baby to be a surprise as was our first child but we decided to find out yesterday at the scan as I was 99.9% sure I would need to have a C-Section under general anaesetic and I wanted to be the first one (with hubby) to find out what our baby was and not to wake up and everyone know what sex my child was before me.

I saw the consultant after the scan and I will be having a c-section. Mia was born via ventouse delivery after 3 long hours of pushing but my situation has changed and I can no longer risk putting my legs in stirrups so this child will be born out of the sunroof!

A bit about me. I was born with spina bifida occulta and after many operations mainly as a child I have led a pretty normal life. I am not paralysed in any way and only in the last 18 months have I started getting neurological symptoms which cause, pain, pins and needles in my leg. After many MRI scans the neuro surgeons have informed me that my spinal cord is tethered and it also splits into two and the tethering could be causing the symptoms I have. Because of this I cannot ever have an epidural and they do not want me to give birth vaginally in case I cause strain on my spinal cord or need intervention as I cannot put my legs in stirrups which would then result in an emergency c-section.

We love our daughter more than anything and cannot wait to meet our second child!

Heres the work update: Alot of you are asking and it is so I thought I'd give a big update on it. Anyway, I reported to work on Sat and my boss was already there and the lady from human resources came shortly after. I was then called into the office for a meeting and I of course had a copy of the work handbook with me.haha. So, I once again stated my case and why I was refusing to sign the dicipline and h/r broke down the days that my boss was trying to count against me. The 2 Saturdays in June were thrown out by h/r becuase they were preapproved days off and not call offs( my boss tried to say that they were not pre approved) but I told her she better tell the truth because there is documentation to prove that they were( I filled out a personal leave paper 2 weeks in advance), so she admitted to h/r that they were indeed pre approved. That left 3 days in July 2, which were pregnancy related and 1, which was due to babysitter having an emergency. 1 ofm the drs excuse days was also thrown out but I am being held responsible for the (babysitter day). Anyway, h/r told my boss to hold off on the dicipline until I submit the zoo trip excuse, which I did yesterday, so we'll see what happens. I did point out that policy states that FMLA excuses cannot be held against an employee along with the fact that a dicipline cannot be issued unless the excessive absences are 2 consecutive months in a row, which does not apply to me since the June days were thrown out. H/R is supposed to be mailing me FMLA paperwork to fill out if I have any future pregnancy related call offs, which would count against my 12 weeks. Honestly I think they were both floored that I had a copy of the handbook and brought it with me to state my case. I guess I'll see what happens next. I think that evil boss of mine will try to find another way to get me out. I told them that I planned to stay until Oct 1st and my boss made a comment saying If you last that long, which I replied what do you mean by that? She said well... you don't know what can happen with your pergnancy and all. Whatever! That woman is NASTY! I ahve had problems with her ever since she became manager back in Oct. I can't wait to leave that place and never go back! I will soon have my new little boy. I am not going to let that crappy job bring me down. It is what it is. Thank you all for your concerns and I will give another update when I find out whats next.

iv never had a major op so i dunno what its like but from seein andy last year it looks painful and awful and he only had his arm pinned lol. youll be great you have hubby and nurses and if you take it slow and dont push yourself youll do fine :) dont worry hun x x

i do hope it comes early i really do. i wonder if its anything to do with periods i was never late for them i was bang on 28 days from starting maybe that means my babys will come on time. also both me and andy were right on time too so maybe thats a good sign. god im dripping with sweat how gross andrews gonna think im gross. you ready for the hospital? does baby stay with you whif your in? x x

i think im gonna go way way way over the due date :( just got a feeling that i have a while to go lol. i think its a boy i really do but alot me people at church ugh its a girl lol i just hope its healthy im convinced its gonna be deaf because i go to andrews gigs when i can so now i ugh babys gonna be deaf lol. if its a boy hes joseph andrew if its a girl i like amilia grace he likes amy louise :( lol its a battle to the death lol x

haha i take everything to heart at the moment especially if they say it lol. my god im warm :( i just went and bought beer for andrew and got evil looks again so im not doing it anymore lol. oh you excited i wish i knew the exact day baby was gonna get here. silly but im so fed up now but still dont feel ready to be a mummy :( im sacred lol x

god it was awkward luckily i had my mummys birthday to go home too lol it was just weird
all her mates were asking me about me n andy n if were back together n i felt weird saying yes coz i dont know if hes told his family were giving it another go lol

and then his auntys were talking to me, his dads cousin whos just ahd a baby plonked it on me n said "i have to make sure you at least know how to hold them before i let you have my 2nd cousin"

i thought that was really rude of her

then his mumwas showing everyone the 3d pictures (theres only a few in a frame i made for them) and she was going right infront iof me "very weird pictures it was a horrible scan to watch it just wasnt normal" i wanted to cry. i dnt see why people think its okay to say "ur baby is weird looking" to me lol i think my 3d pictures are lovely!! especially the one of its face but apparently its "Creepy"

im always nice to her, i smile sweetly and ask how she is etc shes just old and mean lol she doesnt like the fact andy n i arent married she never liked me when we were together last time either lol. she got in a right strop that i went to the hospital with him for check ups for his op etc and i went in the room and signed his papers and she didnt lol

oh hes not away long only till sunday but his sisters making him drive her back to shefield on sunday when he gets back. and she wont let me go too :( i want to see him too lol shes such a pain shes so spoilt and if he says no she creats a right royal fuss lol. if i kiss him or anything near hes she goes eew gross. shes 21 next week lol. im meeting his whole family tomorrow at hes party im scared to death :( x

should i get an electric one? i have a tommee tippee hand pump im just a little worried about this nipple confusion thing. if its not realy true ill exprtess from an early stage so andy can get in with the bonding too (and the night feeeds hehehe) he does really want to be doing all that and getting up hes already said he wants to do all the nappies and baths coz he feels like thats something he can do coz he doesnt have boobs lol

hes getting really excited bless him he geot upset last night that he has to go away with the band (i reminded him he doesnt HAVE to and hes CHOSEN to lol) but he said when he agreed he didnt think and he didnt realise hed be this excited and worried about me lol. hes worried ill go in to labour tonight or tomorrow lol and hell never see me with a bump again hehe awwwwwwwwwwwww

i wanna breast feed really want to theres a few reasons one of them is if i bereast feed his mother and sister cant take my baby off me to feed it lol also i think its better for the baby and i wanna have that closeness and to bond with bubs

andys asked if ill express after a few months sometimes coz he wants to be able to feed it too especailly at night time. he said he wants to be able to get up and let me kip and take the baby downstairs like the sma advert lol!

i had a dream i had to have one the otehr day n i was very pissed off. not coz im one of thesse i wanna do it all naturally and have ppl in white with tamborines around the bottom of my bed but coz i dnt like hsoptials n didnt want to stay in for 72 hours lol

andrews been all i WILL do the things daddys are ment to ill watch its head crowning and ill cut the cord and ill announce what gender the baby is to my izzie

i dont care as long as im not in agony lol ill probably so high on painkillers i wont even remember what gender the baby is lol
