aw thanks!! i love your wedding picture as well!! yes, it is safe to breastfeed on the pain medication. many moms start right away after csection...which is good because once the baby takes an ounce of formula and stretches it's little stomach your colostrum might not be enough to satisfy him/her alone until your breastmilk comes in

This is my second c-section and honestly I didn't have all that much pain with the first...I think it's because I expected it to be SOOOO horrible that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I suggest having a spinal over an epidural and if you are able to request the type of anesthesia a DURAMORPH or ASTROMORPH spinal is the best!!! That medication stays in your system for 24 hours so you don't need to push a pain pump every 10 min. in order to have your pain under control. I'm a nurse in OB and this works so much better for the patients than the PCA Pump. I had the astromorph spinal for my first. The pain that I complained about most was the pain at the spinal site on my back which is normal and would have happened whether I had a spinal or epidural...the only way out of that is general anesthesia which is when you get put out which has so many more risks and theny ou are achy for days. The best thing I can tell you to bring is a Boppy pillow...that helps splint your incision if you have to cough, laugh, sneeze, etc. Also...when they tell yout o get up and walk on day 2 definitely do it!!! It seems like torture but the longer you are laying around the more gas builds up in your belly and then it will start pushing on your incision making you miserable and then you won't want to get up at all. So even if it's tough get up and move about as much as you can!! The reason that I had to have a csection is because when i was you]nger i had to have a vaginal surgery (sorry if TMI :) ) which i can imagine would be similar to a laceration during natural childbirth or an episiotomy and honestly i'd rather deal with belly pain than that pain "down there" And I don't think I'd do well pushing anything out of "there" so although I sorta felt like I was missing out when I was told I'd have to have csections I'm ok with it. Plus you get to plan the day a few days before you are due and hopefully not have to worry about your water bringing at an inconvenient time or false labor alarms, etc. Anyway...hope that helped...let me know if you have any more questions and good luck

I don't want to have to go through the big baby thing again either. I mean...I had all of mine vaginally (with drugs of course). With my oldest (he was the biggest at 9.9 and 23 inches) was crazy. My second wasn't so bad..she was 8 and 20 1/2 inches. Both of those babies I had episiotomies. With my third...it was horrific. She was 9.4 and 21 1/2 and ripped me up and down...I felt like I had a softball between my legs because of the swelling...it was sooo awful. I just knew I would never be the same. Being cut is soo much better than being ripped...in my opinion.

I've already told my husband that if this one is near those weights at 32 or 36 week u/s's then I'm opting for a section. I'm getting my tubes tied anyways. I've damn near had a section when I had my tubal reversal (I have a 4-5 inch scar from that)...granted they didn't cut through my uterus but how much worse could it be. At least you can sit down and aren't afraid to use the bathroom. LOL

My doc won't change my due date..and I'm happy about that. I "grow em big" as he puts it. I know when I got pregnant and don't want her coming out too early..I'd rather have her big.

Yeah, your dates are confusing. I am 28 weeks today and due Oct 17. I had the 4D Wednesday @ 27 weeks 5 days and that's when she weighed 3.9 and measured at 32 weeks.

haha no not yet, i have to travel about 10 hours to get to the nearest city that tells you the sex, so not for another month!

sw0699 - Saturday, 31 May
I was told that I had complete previa at 13 weeks due to bleeding. I went to see my peri last Friday at 18 weeks and was told it had move up, but still low, so still on "pelvic rest" until futher notice. It great because no more bleeding. (bleeding for about 3 weeks was torture for me), but going on 2 good weeks. Best Wishes....

rae - Saturday, 31 May
hi i was told i was a possible placenta previa at 16 weeks i go again june 3rd so we are in the same boat and i will find out if i really have it or not, do you feel the baby move and is it really low, with my other two i never notice it this low so i am wondering if the placenta is really low still. let me know what the doctor tells you.

I LOVE the way my hair feels now, its like every shampoo is a miracle treatment, when really its the little one inside of us:) do you know what your having? apparently boys give and girls take so your soft tresses could be the result fo a little man in that growing belly. old wives tails are funny!

katgirl7277 - Friday, 30 May
I go back June 26. I heard the same thing that it can go back in place. I sure hope so for the both of us..

Hi-
Could they tell if your baby was a girl from the AFP testing?!

bunnyintheoven - Wednesday, 21 May
Hi Congrats on your pregnancy!!!!! AFP's are rubbish, no one can tell you 100% i was given a 1 in 179 i had an NT scan to be given 1 in 5969 my baby could still be the one but i dont worry any more. Heaps of Baby Dust!!!!!

Natos - Wednesday, 21 May
You sure are riht. I notice these tests only stress me out morn. I dont even go to the doc unles i absolutely have to.

Daisey - Wednesday, 21 May
That's great news, and honestly I didn't expect any less. Congratulations! Now you can relax and enjoy your pregnancy. I'm so jealous you're having a girl. I went to visit my family yesterday and when I saw my two nieces that are 2+ years old, I cried. :-(

Daisey - Sunday, 18 May
Hi there. Just back from a great day out on the boat. Except for not looking hot in my bikini anymore. That kinda sucks! ;-) Yeah, I hear you about boys. It's just I've raised my stepson, who is 9, since he was 4 and I wanted a girl this time. He and I are very close and I couldn't have asked for a better, more loving relationship. And yes, I am very thankful that my son is healthy. Who knows, he might look great in pink after all! ;-)

Daisey - Saturday, 17 May
Got my phonecall this afternoon. I didn't get my girl, but that's ok. I'll take a healthy, bouncy baby boy, too. It's all good. Keep me posted on your results.

Daisey - Friday, 16 May
Hi. I'm envious that your amnio didn't hurt. Try not to worry too much. Still no results for me. Takes two weeks so I expect an answer by Tuesday. Remember to think pink! My belly is growing but no movement still. I can't wait!

Dee08 - Thursday, 15 May
Hi, im sure everything will be okay. I wish you luck.

Daisey - Thursday, 15 May
I just read your post. Sorry for your anxiety and glad you did the amnio. Sending you all the best for positive results!! :-) Keep the faith!

Heather1021 - Friday, 9 May
Try Burlington Coat Factory. That's where I get all my maternity clothes from. They have nice clothes!

charlie2000 - Friday, 9 May
Try oldnavy.com. (the stores don't have as many choices as on-line does). Good luck.

Daisey - Wednesday, 7 May
Thank you for thinking of me! Which chinese calendar did you use? I tried one but couldn't figure it out - solar, lunar, whatever! :-) Yeah, if I have a girl I'll be happy, if I have a boy, I'll be relieved. You know what a headache we can be, especially as teens! I wouldn't worry too much about the AFP results. Talking with the genetic counselor yesterday, he said that even if you do test positive, chances are still 1 in 200. So think happy thoughts! By the way, check out my ultrasound shots from yesterday. One of them is so cute/funny!

Daisey - Wednesday, 7 May
Well, the amnio wasn't as painless as 100% of people said it would be, but it was well worth it. No bad symptoms or fever so I'm sure the baby will be fine. It was very quick. Baby didn't move in a position to determine the sex so I will have to wait two weeks for the amnio results. I want a girl so bad! How about you? And thanks for the compliment. I do have to agree with you. :-)

Daisey - Tuesday, 6 May
Hello and thanks so much for the wishes. I'm afraid I could be that 1 in 400 amnio that results in miscarriage. I really don't want to start over again.
I didn't have that test done and I believe it's because I decided to do the amnio which gives more in depth results for everything. I'll see what my doctor tells me today. Through all of my own research though, I've heard that false positives are very common in these tests. That's why I opted for the amnio.

mommy2hicks - Thursday, 1 May
Hi, Im sure everything is ok. It could be that your Iron is low and you just need some iron pills. That is what happened to me. Or another time I got called because they lost my 24 hr urine collection. I will say a extra prayer for you tonight for the best.
