I'm currently pregnant with my 1st. My husband & I where married in mid October & we got a honeymoon baby. I have hypothyroidism & that seems to be under control. I was diagnosed after the pregnancy diagnosis with diabetes. They are considering it gestational due to it not being found till the pregnancy. So things have been stressful to say the least.

Monday, 18 Feb Okay. I've lost quite a bit more. I think some of it is from the morning sickness (I had it pretty bad in the beginning), but alot of it is from me eating healthier. I've been trying not to eat much fast food and eating more fruits and veggies. I used to eat fast food almost everyday for lunch, But I rarely eat it at all now. Did you find out what you're having yet?

Monday, 4 Feb Hi Meghan, I was just reading your post from January 21st. I too am a type 2 insulin dependant diabetic have been for about 5 years now as is my sister and father. Just because we are diabetics does not mean our body doesn't produce it's own insulin it just means it doesn't produce it correctly. With this being said - When you say you didn’t eat anything all afternoon but had some diet soda. Your body may have realized that you hadn’t eaten and because of that dumped out a load of it’s own insulin (fuel) – that could explain the BS reading of 130. For example – I will get up in the early hours to walk on my treadmill before I go to work. Now you would think working out would lower my BS right? Well in my case at 5:30 in the morning the insulin I have taken the night before is just wearing off and my pancreas dumps a load of insulin first thing in the morning hence I always have high blood sugar in the morning after working out. WEIRD HUH. The doctors say it is normal and it’s just how my body works or should I say doesn’t work. If I worked out mid afternoon my sugar does not go up but actually goes down. I know it’s weird and it’s taken me all these years to finally start to understand it. I hope this makes some sense. :) honeymoonbaby -
Monday, 4 Feb Hello! I wouldn't worry about the not showing and losing weight. My doctor said that is perfectly fine. He said that baby will take what it needs 1st so as long as you are eating, baby should be fine. I didn't start gaining until about 6 months or so. I wish I could go back to the days where I wasn't putting on weight. LOL!!! I remember thinking, 'I want to show, I want people to notice I'm pregnant.' DON'T WORRY!!! It will come and then you'll be wishing for extra room in your belly to hold the baby. It gets REALLY uncomfortable. I know it's nerveracking in the beginning, wanting so bad to feel and look pregnant, that's how I was! I am glad your sugars are doing better. Mine have been really good in the past few days too. I am beginning to worry how big this boy is going to get. I don't need a 10lb baby! LOL!!! Take care! AlyEwing-Ball -
Sunday, 3 Feb I mentioned it too and was told that so long as I wasn't intentionally going out to lose weight then everything was fine - they didn't mind the weight loss. I could have been doing with it anyway to begin with!
I've read of some people on here not showing until about week 28 with their first pregnancy so please, try not to worry about it - every pregnancy is different and every person responds different to pregnancy.
When my mum was pregnant with me she never showed. She only gained 5lbs and I was just under 8lbs when born. I remember her telling a story that someone who lived on the same street as her thought that she had adopted me - she just never showed and I was her second!
I suppose you could be a bit early to be showing with your first so will probably show a bit later! And then you'll love it!! honeymoonbaby -
Friday, 1 Feb Well, good luck on your scan in a few weeks! Are you hoping for a girl or a boy? I had to go see my specialist today and she ended up not getting to (she had surgery) so I am waiting to see if she is going to change my meds at all. I hope not, it depresses me to think I can't control it better.... course my 1 hour post meals have been a little high (like 138). I can't wait to have this baby and sink my teeth into a donut!! LOL!!! I am not even a big donut fan, it's just knowing I can't have them. Sugar Free Jello Pudding has been my main saving grace.... I eat it almost every day. It fills my sweet tooth. Well, I hope everything is going well for you. I got a 3-D scan today (I wasn't expecting it) and it was SOOO cool! Take care! AlyEwing-Ball -
Friday, 1 Feb Hiya, I just wanted to let you know that I'm further ahead of you and still not showing at all! I'm still wearing my own clothes and everything! No changes at all! In fact, I've lost 10lbs and still not gained any back on! Don't worry about it - i'm sure you'll bloom eventually!!! scrappy -
Thursday, 31 Jan One thing that really affects my blood sugar is if I skip my snack. I need to eat about every 2-3 hrs. I talked to my endocrinologist about this... If I don't eat, my body releases stored glucose causing my levels to spike. Try eating a low carb (about 15g) snack between meals. That helps me tremendously. Good Luck! honeymoonbaby -
Tuesday, 29 Jan Hey! I've got GD too. I am doing pretty good controlling it (I feel) but it seems the doctor always wants better. I am getting so sick of the same foods over and over. Doctor has me taking Glyburide 2.5ml in the morning and night. It seems to be working well, fasting is usually between 80-90. I hope I can maintain it one more month. I am induced on 3/1!!! Do you know what your having B or G? I am having a boy! I can't wait to hold him! I had an ultrasound on 1/24 and he already weighted 5lbs! I hope he doesn't get too huge!! Good luck! candiaswooten -

Saturday, 5 Jan Hang in there.. I had GD when I was preggo and I know it was not fun. Just stay positive and everything will turn out fine.. And look at the bright side, since your on the GD diet, you won't gain that much pregnancy weight. :D I only gained 5 lbs during my pregnancy and I lost all that weight when I had my baby..
