Hi my name is Vicki, I am a 28 year old from NC. I have been married 7 years and after 4 previous pregnancy loses I have just successfully given birth to my 1st child. He is the newest chapter of my life and I am so greatful to have been given such a precious gift. I went through great challenges to get him here, 3 miscarriages, 1 ectopic pregnancy, 3 months of bedrest, a funneling cervix, hypertension and diabetes. Now that I have overcome those obstacles and my journey into parenthood begins I hope to meet other women with whom I can share my pregnancy experiences, priceless moments, and be able to help each other transition into motherhood. I look forward to meeting new moms, pregnant moms, and pray a special prayer for all the moms still trying to concieve. (Good Luck!)

March 1, 2008 (1 Month Old)

Time for an update... These past 4 weeks have been Nuts, Motherhood is tough. All I do is worry. We have experienced some rough moments, Khi is still not really on a schedule but he is improving. He wakes about every 2.5 hours to eat and be changed. He has a fussy period in the mornings between 8-9am and again in the evening about 7-9pm but its growing on me. Its hard listening to him cry but I am learning ways to get him settled back down. He is having issue learning how to poop so I have to help him out with a rectal thermometer but doc says its common and it will pass. She says they are still learning their bodies and how to use their muscles so cool! He has the baby acne (WHICH I HATE) but its getting better. He doesnt like baths (STINKY BUTT LOL) but oh well that is one thing he will have to get over. He is growing beautifully now weighing 10lbs9.5ozs and has a hearty appetite. I was breastfeeding but that didnt go well so now he is mostly formula fed, doesnt seem to bother him one bit. I dont have much time for me but I wouldn't change it for the world. All day all I do is look at him and think about him, I dont wanna leave him with anybody and just decided I am not going back to work until he is atleast 6 mos, aint FMLA great? I hope everyone is enjoying their bundles as much as me and I will be updating as new events come up LOL. Here are some pics taken during his first month of life.

March 30,2008 (2 Months Old)

Boy how time flies! Mekhi is 2 months old already. This last month has been a true awakening, I am beginning to wonder how I ever lived without this child. He is so beautiful and changing everyday. He is now 14 Ibs 2 ozs. Such a fat baby LOL! He is still not sleeping through the night but he only wakes maybe 1-2 times instead of every 2 hrs. He is getting nosey and loves looking at people and following them around the room with his eyes. He coos his head off, and when I sing to him he coos as if he is singing with me. It is so funny I tell you til I am normally in tears laughing . We finally got his formula right and he seems much more comfortable. I let my mom keep him for the first time, but within a couple hours I was picking him back up, sick and missing him lol. He got his first round of shots today (HATED IT!) which he took better than I did but he still cried. I gave him tylenol right after to keep him from being so cranky and he slept most of the day, then woke up kind of feverish so I gave him another dose, and out he went again. Next set is 4 months so maybe by then he will be even bigger and wont even feel them. His daddy just loves him to death, we fight over who's turn it is to hold him, but he sleeps in my arms all night so I cut dad some slack during the day. We were really made for this! They grow so fast til he has already got me thinking about another one! (LOL NOT!!!!) Being a mother truly changes your train of thought on alot of things, small stuff just doesn't seem as important anymore! My main focus is him and as long as it stays that way, life will remain beautiful! These are pics taken during his 2nd month of life.

April 30, 2008 (3 Months Old)

Can we say 16Ibs 6ozs? Big Boy is an understatment, but how cute it is! Khi is growing so fast and doing something new everyday. He has been rolling, holding his bottle, sucking his thumb, laughing out loud, doing some little fake cough that he does and when you stand him on his feet he gets sooooo excited. He is moving so so fast, I am taking pictures all day everyday afraid I will miss something. The Dr has given me the ok to start giving him rice cereal and then at 4 mos he can have some fruits and veggies. Its hard to believe he has grown so big on just formula huh? Cant imagine what the cereal will do to him. He still is not sleeping all night but I have adjusted to my sleep being interrupted, most nights I wake before he does and have his bottle and diaper already waiting on him. I am getting a routine going I guess you could say....adapting to motherhood and it feels great. His walker says 4 mos and up so I CANT WAIT to throw him big behind in it. LOL I swear it seems like I was just pregnant and now my son is approaching 4 months old. BOY BOY BOY! Hubby and I are still working on squeezing in our time together but neither of us would trade it for the world, he is already talking about number 2..........hmmmmmm dont think I am ready for that discussion yet but one day maybe. June 6, 2008 ( 4 months, 1 week old)

Wow 19Ibs 11ozs at our 4 month check this past Wed. This boy is eating me out of house and home. I have been feeding him some rice cereal on and off but not everyday. He has gained all this weight only on formula. Unreal! He got his second set of shots which he took better than the first, he cried only about 1min or so. The dr says not to worry, he will thin out when he starts to move about but boy in the meanwhile look what I gotta carry around LOL! He has started grabbing onto our shirts and arms to pull himself up to a sitting position but he needs help to stay that way. He still talks all day and all night and I believe he is teething. It is literally drool city up in here! I bought some baby orajel which seems to help when he gets really fussy so now I am just waiting to see when that first tooth will pop in. We are still not sleeping thorough the night but what else is new? He loves bathtime now he just doesnt like to get his hair combed during shampoo time. Gotta keep the cradle cap away ya know. Other than that the baby acne is gone and now we are dealing with eczema. WOW! Always something with these youngsters. I am in love with him and he is in love with me, he just lights up when I enter a room especially if I have been gone a while and he laughs out loud when I smile at him. I sing him to sleep and he still sleeps in my arms (gonna be a hard habit to break) but we both sleep so peacefully that way. I got my first tatoo with his name this past week, couldnt think of a better reason to do it, so I just woke up one morning and went. Its pretty and didnt hurt at all, all this years of being afraid and now I think I am addicted LoL. I think I will go back and get his a mine zodiac signs next ( HEHE!) My Husband had his birth footprints put on the underside of his forearm, pics coming soon. Keep checking for updates.

This last month has flown by so quickly til I dont know if I can remember everything. Khi is still growing beyond belief, we had to upgrade to the convertible car seat already because he is over the weight limit for his infant seat. It was very difficult to find on too because they are so big and bulky and they dont fit well in your car because it still has to be rear facing for 7 more months but we finally went with the Evenflo Triumph Premier which suprisingly enough fits very well in my Toyota Camry and he has lots of room in it. He still has not perfected rolling over, he gets half way and then gets his arm stuck under him and cant figure out how to get it out. He is still drooling all over everything and not a tooth in sight lol. He is a very greedy baby, we started feeding him some rice cereal as well as some baby food and now when he sees a spoon go in anybodys mouth he has a fit. We bought him an exersaucer which he loves so that he can learn to grab for things and work his legs, but tummy time is still a struggle. He would rather lick the sheets, blanky or floor than try to move (SOOO GREEDY!) He gets mad and spits at us or scratches at us when we dont do what he wants fast enough....I wonder where he gets the anger(HEHE). Still has not slept all night, and its wearing me down lol. OMG PLEASE GO TO SLEEP! I wine but I would not change him for the world, just seeing his face light up and his big smile makes my heart melt to pieces. He is my BIGGG, Bad Ass, Greedy Baby and thats all that matters.

August 6, 2008 (6 months, 1 week old)

Eeeek can we say half way to a year old? Shots again this month, still dont like em but he only cries like 30 secs or so, so I deal with em. These were his last ones til he's a year old anyway so that will be a nice break for us both. Everything was good with his well check, 23 Ibs 5ozs, 28 1/4 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile all across the board so he's going to be a big boy. I finally signed him up for daycare as I will be returning to work in 2 weeks, dont know how I will do with that yet but he will only be there part time so we will see how it goes. Still no teeth, trying to scoot but not crawling, will take steps if you stand him up and walk with him. Such a happy baby most of the time but still does not like to sleep. He has a new cousin that was born this month, my niece, hopefully they will be close since there ages are so close together. He babbles all day and half the night, throws little fits when he's not happy and demands lots of attention. He's meeting all his milestones right on target and soon he will be running the show. 6 more months til my baby is 1, still hard to believe. I had to have a tonsilectomy last week which all I can say is (OUCHHHH) so I have actually been in bed for the last week but am recovering slowly, however my advice to anyone needing this surgery is hell to tha NO! The older you are the worse it is and that shit was a beast! Hope all is well, will be in touch.

August 30, 2008 (7 Months Old)

Wow seems like I just did the 6 month update. Where does the time go? Mekhi is really thriving...guess what? WE HAVE TEETH! Yep the 2 bottom teeth finally came in after nearly 4 months of un relenting drool. I was too excited. Now weighing in @ 24Ibs 2ozs and wearing 18 month clothes he is breaking the bank lol. He is slowing down though because at one point he was gaining 3 and 4 pounds a month. He is rolling all over the place, if u take your eyes off him for a second he is liable to be headed for the floor. We have to stay on top of him allllllllllll day. He started daycare this month. *tear* I dont know if it was harder for me or him. I'm pretty sure its me though. I have been a mess at work. After being off for nearly 10 months, going back was the hardest thing that I have ever had to do. Leaving him with strangers and watching him break his neck looking for me as I walk out the door is just an unexplainable emotional crisis. I cried for like a week straight. But watching the biggest smile come across his face when I came back to pick him up made me feel great. He is reaching and grabbing for any and everything. He watches us like a hawk while we are eating so we have started sharing our table foods with him and he loves it. He is so precious to me and when he smiles my world feels like heaven. Overall it has been a wonderful month, and as I reflect back all I can say is WOW! It is so weird how different your life can be from one minute to the next. This time last year I was pregnant and headed for bedrest and now I have a beautiful healthy 7 month old. All I can say is I hope you all feel as blessed as I have been and I hope all is going well. September 30, 2008 (8 Months Old)

Well here we are again, another month gone! 8 months old, 24Ibs 8ozs and active as ever. My Boy is into everything, still not crawling but is now able to roll himself from one side of the room to the other without stopping LOL. He wants to touch everything he sees, he wants to have everything you have, eat everytime you eat and only wants to play with things that you dont want him to have. He is even having tantrums when he cant have his way..... YES TANTRUMS! If you dont give him what he wants when he wants it, he will just fall straight back and start crying and kicking! It is hilarious and frustrating at the same time because I dont want the baby that you have to carry out of stores kicking and screaming. I hate to see that so I cant even imagine it being my child, so my new word of choice is NO... and POP-POP to let him know that it is not appropriate. No I dont actually hit him but I want to prepare him for what those words mean wayyyyyyy in advance. He has finally adjusted to daycare so dropping him off is alot easier. He actually about jumps out of my arms to get down play. He watches everything and is so attentive, almost like he is memorizing what you are doing. His 2 top teeth are on their way through and that will make 4 so he is well on his way to big boy status. Now this hair is a whole different subject, I cant wait until it is haircut time. He doesnt like it combed, he wont let you braid it and he pulls at it all day long making it look like a combination of a afro and a box, I call it a AFROX LMAO! UGHHH it must go! I mean it is atleast curly so I guess thats a plus but geez! It is so many details to remember and moments to cherish that I just hope that I will remember it all when he is older which is why I continue to update each month. So stay Tuned.....
