This is my first pregnancy and I couldn't be happier!!!

I had a lot of female problems when I was younger and was told that I would not be able to carry a child. Well, I am at 19 weeks and doing pretty good.

I had a cerclage (stitch in my cervix) put in at 13 weeks and was put on bedrest at 16 weeks. I go to the doctor every week for a measurement of my cervix and an injection of delalutin to relax my uterus. It is working so far. We still have a long road ahead of us. But what an amazing journey it is!!!

I get to see my baby each week during my sonogram that measures my cervix. That is a big plus!!! My sono tech says that she is 80% sure it is a girl!!! I can hardly wait for the 100% ! I'm thinking PINK! Kayla Grace is already so loved!!

How`s my pregnancy doing?

I am taking metformin for gestational diabetes. If your numbers are in the mid to high 100's maybe your doctor will let you take metformin too. Its oral medication as opposed to an injection. However if your numbers are 200 plus you wont have a choice. If you are like me and hate needles, its definately worth asking about, it is working well for me. Are you following a diabetic diet yet?

hi
yes i fell much closer to him now he looks exactly like my first son i was so shocked. everything seemed fine except he is breech with his feet right up by his face. the lady said he looks a little to cosy in that position and he may not turn so i will be asking my midwife to check me more carefully from now on. anyway how are you doing now?

My cervix is down to 18mm. I had to go take the 3 hour glucose tolerence test today, it went better than I expected. The guys there were really nice and let me lay down in a room in the back after seeing me trying to lay down in the lobby in a double chair. I explained to them I was supposed to be on bedrest and they were awesome. I thought I would be sitting there starving but I wasn't hungry at all. I rented a movie and brought my laptop with me to watch it and the time passed pretty quickly.

Is it progesterone injections you are taking and do you give them to yourself or do you go to the doctor to get them?

How short is your cervix measuring?

Thanks. I'm really excited about having a girl. My little boy just turned 2 friday and now have the baby blues and is ready for her to come. I go for an ultra sound and glucose test on tuesday and will be posting how that went. I was diabetic with my little boy so i'm sure this one will be the same. TTYS

I'm glad to hear that you are taking things one day at a time. I know that's the best way. It seems like you're in the clear for at least the next two weeks. Keep resting!!

Wow, since 16 weeks??? Were you contracting then? Why did they put you on brest? I've only been here for three days and it is such an amazing change from real life. My husband is out of town all week and my parents are swiching off being with me. I'm a little baby again!! It is nice spending quality time with them though. What meds are you on? Are they working well? What did the docs say were your chances for full term?

I'm glad you and your baby are doing well!!

Last wendsday i had my "20 week ultrasound" and My baby is doing great, OMg!! your shouldn've seen her she was sucking her litle thumb and she even got the hiccupps!! it was so exiting!
I asked the u/s technitian to check my cerivx and he told me that it looked good. I was worried that I might have an incomplete cervix.
3 years ago my mom lost a little girl at 23 weeks due to her having an incomplete cervix :( It was awful. (she didn't know she has such condition)
But thanks God everything is going well with my pregnancy.

bEst wishes!! and just hang in there! It will be all worth it once your baby is here!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!

I am so happy to hear that everything went well at your appointment! Keep in touch and let me know how things go. I am sure everything will be fine :)

It must be tough to need to be on bed rest all this time. I only had to with one of my children but for a different reason. I had a subchorionic haemorrahge at 12 weeks and bled for 4 weeks after that. I felt like a ticking time bomb just waiting to go off. Being told lets see if we can get you to 26 weeks then, 28weeks, 30 weeks and so on. God had a great sense of humour in all this because they ended up inducing me on my due date bacause of my placenta problem and did not want me to go over time. I know the feeling of wondering just how long you will get to keep baby in utero.
Hang in there, every little bit of time is helpful as you know.

Hello. Thanks for your message. It makes me feel better to know that other people are going through similar issues. I'll find out how things are progressing on Thursday at my in depth sonogram and then I think I'll be on a schedule like yours... once a week. Do you have an internal exam at each visit or is it just a sonogram to measure the cervical canal? I'll let you know how things go on Thursday. Take care.

shell1981 - Tuesday, 8 April
best of luck take it easy let us know how you and the baby do, each day that passes now the baby is becoming stronger.
