I am 29 weeks today. Baby girl is very active, especially at night when I'm trying to go to sleep. Fortunately once I am asleep she doesn't wake me up.... just my bladder does! I can't tell what is moving exactly, just feels like big rolls around the belly button/lower pelvis area. At the 20 week ultrasound she was feet down, but hopefully she has turned or will soon. I don't get the kicks to the ribs everyone talks about so it worries me that she is sideways but I think my placenta may be at the front which would muffle kicks I suppose. I see the doctor next week and will ask him to check.
I have been uncomfortable (though not sick thank goodness) for the entire pregnancy, especially after workouts.... I get a lot of what I guess could be described as muscle pain mostly in my lower abdomen and sides. But since I don't have a job, I have to go to the gym every day otherwise I would get no exercise! As it is I've had to tone down my workouts over the past 6 months and they're pretty wimpy at this stage. But at least it's something. I have gained a total of 21 pounds which I guess is normal but is still astonishing/somewhat depressing at times.
We have most of the stuff we will need for the first couple of months. I think nesting is kicking in because I constantly obsess over loose ends I want to tie up before she arrives. We have a lot of rearranging to do with our room and storage areas to get ready for her and with my husband so busy at work/out of town sometimes, it's hard to find the time, especially since I can't move around/lift heavy things for very long!
I'm so excited to meet her as is Joe. He says it's because he knows she's so cute and can't wait to see just how much. I'm so lucky to have such a great partner.
Just about the time you think you can't handle hearing one more "when is that baby going to pop?", your baby will decide to make it's appearance. We predict your baby will be born 3-7 days before its due date. Your baby will most likely be born in the morning. Justmommies predicts that your baby will weigh approximately 7.3 pounds and that your labor will be about 14 hours long.

I lost all of my text last week, so I guess I'm starting again. Today we had the big ultrasound and again got an excellent view of our baby's behind. It's pretty clear she's a girl! And I have to say, she is very cute!
She weighs 13 ounces, which I guess is a bit hefty for 20 or 21 weeks (I keep bouncing back and forth in measurements), but I'm sure she'll be just fine.
Her head is to the left of my belly button and she's standing on my bladder, which explains why I haven't gotten the break most second trimesters get from midnight bathroom trips. I feel kicks down there quite often, especially late afternoon and at night.... maybe she's a night-owl like her mama!
Between weeks 14-18 I had pretty regular headaches but they seem to be gone for the moment. Now I'm just more tired, out of breath, and have growing pains here and there, especially in my right side and pelvic area, but the pelvic pain is usually after working out so maybe I'm not drinking enough water. Occasionally I get wicked heartburn but it's not as daily as it was previously.
We're moving to San Diego 3-4 months after she's born so can't get too crazy with buying stuff and definitely won't be setting up a nursery any time soon. But that would have to wait anyway cause I plan to breastfeed and have no intention of dragging my beyond-exhausted behind to another room. She'll be right next to us in a bassinet for the first few months. Once we're settled stateside perhaps we'll invest in a crib/toddler bed combo.
The only pricey thing we have left to buy (I managed to find great deals that had to be capitalized on immediately for the bigger stuff ie. stroller, car seat, bassinet) is a breastpump. Other than that, it's just clothes we need but now that I know she's a girl, I'll probably start on that right away! I'm so excited!
My parents are excited because she will be their first grandchild. My husband's parents are excited because he's the only boy and the last one to start having kids. Everyone is happy.
