Wednesday, 17 September I think Ryland doesn't like to eat as soon as he wakes up- I was going back over my notes and it seems as if he eats best when I wait an hour after he wakes to feed him- I have tried offering a bottle first and then giving cereal later, but he doesn't eat it- As frustrating as it is, he is till eating enough, just not as much as he use to or as much as most other babies- He is making plenty of wet/dirty diapers, so I guess I will just wait it out- Thanks for your help and support! Wednesday, 17 September Okay, so Ryland not eating is really bothing me! Now I know what you were going through with Nathan- This morning he woke up and ate 1 tbs cereal and drank 4 oz at 7 am- You think he would have been starving since it had been awhile since he last ate- then at 10am, he only ate 1 oz, napped for a bit and then took the remaing 4 oz- I just tried to give him lunch at 12:30 a jar of carrot, apple, mango and that was a fight- He ended up throwing it all up! He doesn't seem to want to eat solids or drink a bottle- what did your ped. tell you when you took Nathan in? I was going to take Ryland in last week because I thought he had an ear infection and that was why he wasn't eating, but he seemed too happy and normal, and he wasn't tugging at his ears- So I didn't take him in because I figured they would tell me that he was healthy and nothing was wrong- Other than not wanting to eat, he is perfectly happy- Perhaps this is a just a phase- I remember back when he was about 3 months old or so he went through the same thing where he didn't want to eat- I don't know- I hate feeding times now because they are so stressful to me.

Wednesday, 17 September yep you got it right.... however keep in mind that the dailey value that they suggest is for the average baby. and as you know all babies are not the same... it's a good guide to go by, however try not to be overly strict on it..and don't panic if someday's he only gets 90% and someday's he gets 120%. your doing a great job and nathan is freaken adorable! lynna -
Wednesday, 17 September don't feel dumb... its great that your even paying attention!! okay by the end of the day it needs to add up to 100% so if you gave him the first jar plus the second jar that would be 75% now read on the back or side of the box to see how much iron is in the cereal. I looked the gerber rice cereal just now it said that .25 of a cup had 45% of iron in it... So that means if Nathan eats both jars of cereal and 1/4 of a cup of the rice cereal than he has eaten 120% of his dailey value for his iron... So thats great! perfect.... But don't worry too much about it, if sometimes he eats only 70% one day then just try to get that extra percent on the following days. JenO -
Tuesday, 16 September aww thanks JenO -
Monday, 15 September Hey Mizz..... glad to hear you had a good night last night! Nathan is not slower than the rest of the babies...... Owen is right there with him. Also.... the 3 other babes that we had a playdate with last week are only sitting by themselves too.... no crawling and one was born Jan1st. It is hard not to worry.... I do too but they will get there and then we will be wishing they weren't moving!!! DANNIE -

Sunday, 14 September Caden doesn't like his formula either and does not drink much at all any more. However I give him 3 or 4 good serves of solids and he's doing just fine. There are 2 other babies like this in mums group who just don't drink much milk at all and prefer solids. One mum has cut out milk altogether in the day cos her baby won't take it and just gives sips of water with food. Then at night before bed she has a bottle. So I think it's ok if they don't drink alot!
Hope all is well with you and Nathan

Saturday, 13 September Hi there! About feeding, Tanner isn't a big formula fan anymore either, but I'm not worried. Both of my girls were off formula at 9 months and refused baby food as well, but they had a fair amount of teeth already at his age and I think they are very bright for their ages. So I wouldn't worry too much about Nathan not drinking alot of formula. Gerber has DHA ARA stuff in there baby food if that would make you feel about Nathan getting enough nuitrients, it's the same as in formula. I think once solids are introduced they gradually drink less formula. Hope this helps. darci -
Saturday, 13 September I read a post about crawling and am wondering if Nathan is crawling yet? Gryeson isn't... and really doesn't seem to interested in trying. secondandexcited -
Saturday, 13 September I'm actually looking at the infants tylenol bottle and for children under 2 it's not recommended. But my peditrician said it's okay to use. They said to use .3 ml. It's the first line on the dropper. Hope this helps!
