Hi .. please read my blogs for more details!!! I have just started writing them.

5/18/08

Aloha!!

Hi mommies hope you all are having a lovely day. Here in Seattle the weather is gorgeous. Yesterday my friends threw me a Hawaii theme surprise baby shower. It was so awesome :-). I had not even made my registry or shopped for anything at all. But now I have a good head start :-). I feel so good today :-) :-)

4/19/08

hi all, I had my repeat scan yesterday. My previous scan was at 20 weeks but they called me again to take a closer look at my baby's heart. I was freaked out but I got a lot of supportive messages from you all. Apparently there were two issues, 1. They could not see ventricular outflow tract 2. They noticed an echogenic focus (bright spot) in baby's Left Ventricle. This week the radiologists were able to visualize the LVOT so that was good news but the echogenic focus was still there :-(. It is usually a marker for DS if it seen along with some other markers. In our case since this was the only marker and my other tests were negative doctor said that the probability is too low. I wish this spot weren't there but when something like this happens you seem to appreciate life all the more. I was getting used to taking things for granted. I will try to think happy thoughts and will pray that my baby will be healthy. I pray the same for you all :-).

4/4/08

Thanks so much for your kind comments regarding the issue of my baby's U/S scan. We are schedule for a repeat scan next week. Your kind words, comments and prayers have helped me think positive. I was very upset but you all are great :). I am hoping for the best. I will keep you posted with my next scan results. I received 50+ messages and I am so glad to have such great people to help. I could not reply to each message individually,, so I am blogging this. Thanks so much!!!!

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Sx

No she has only been crying a lot since she got sick. I know its just cuz she feels like shit but still, its soooo hard on me! Especially with an 18 month old who needs me still so much! ugh.

phonics - Friday, 19 September
My baby was able to cry tears since she was born. It just depends on when those glands develop.

I use a steaming bottle warmer. They cost like $20. It works wonders. I thought warming the milk in warm water took forever and I never got it warm enough.

knockduppp - Sunday, 14 September
i just use regular dish soap but i make sure to rinse it our very well, sometimes I get all OCD and think i may have left some soap residue in there, i freak out. as far as heating it i just put the whole bottle in a cup of hot water that i just heated in the microwave, the bottle sitts in the hot water about a minute . hope that helps!

Lansinoh sells zip loc storage bags that you can freeze. To thaw it all you have to do is run it under hot water and it only takes a few minutes. They sell them at Target and I think Walmart

My baby's pediatrician thought she heard a heart murmer the day she was born. She sent us to Childrens Hospital the following week. They did an x-ray, ekg (hooked up with little electronic "threads" and recorded on a computer, and finally an ultrasound. It turns out Heart murmers are one of the most common problems with babies. It turns out she has Pulminary Stenosis but it is not too bad and will probababy not need any procedures done. We just have to keep getting her checked every so often. Keep me posted on your results

My daughter is diagnosed with a heart murmer and she didnt have it when she was born either. I have also taken her to see a cardiologist and with my daughter they did whats pretty much and ultrasound of the heart and it only took a few minutes to do. The reason for her heart murmer is because the hole in one of the chambers of her heart is a little bigger than its suppose to be. Plus her pulmonary artery is a little smaller than it should be. I was told if it were really affecting her she wouldnt be growing, gaining weight, have blue lips because of lack of oxygen and shortness of breath. Don't worry they just send you to a cardiologist as a precaution and this happens to alot of babies. If you have any more ??? please feel free to ask!

I was diagnosed with a heart murmor hen I was 14 by my doc. The heart guy would not see anyone under 18 so i had to go to a pediatrician heart specialist.. All they did was use sticky stuff fto hook me up to a machine. A bit cold, but painless and they found nothing wrong.

newmommyj - Wednesday, 3 September
hey. i was told my son had a heart murmur too. they did an ecg on him, where they hooked leads to his legs and chect. i dont know if you've had one they
are pretty routine. the hard part was the ultrasound on his chest. he had to lay still for an hour. he did ok though. all that worry, and it turns out everything is ok. heart murmurs are pretty normal for babies. good luck with everything.

phonics - Tuesday, 26 August
Thanks. I was getting worried.

mommad - Tuesday, 26 August
My baby has pulled her hair several times! She'll be laying down and then suddenly start wailing, and I will find her hair in her hand! She doesnt know she's doing it. Her lips also quiver! Infact tonight it was happening and I thought she was freezing! I put extra clothes on her and wrapped her up...maybe she wasn't so cold after all! I better go unwrap her before she gets too hot!

phonics - Tuesday, 26 August
Mybaby trembles too. let me know if you find out what it is.

ashpatbaby - Wednesday, 20 August
my baby was doing the same thing and he has acid reflux, so hes on meds now plus it will help if u put 2 big book or blocks under each leg at the head of the bassinet or crib so that shes sleeping on a slight incline. i noticed a hugh difference once i started that. also the dr told me to move himout of my room if i want to ever sleep because babys grunt and gron all night long. so now he in his nusery in the bassanet.

Boopy - Friday, 1 August
No problem. Nope...Anelise is still on the monitor. She has another download on Monday...so hopefully she will be off and it will be much easier to get around and do things with her.

juliedue2008 - Friday, 1 August
Buy an AngelCare Motion Sensor so you at least have a little peace of mind at night or while the baby naps... you can get them at babiesrus walmart or target.. I have one and it makes me feel better at nigh! Just FYI! Good luck and best wishes!

Boopy - Friday, 1 August
Hello there. I would not worry too much. My baby, born 3 months premature, is finally now passed her due date and is truly 16 days old. In any case...she came home on a monitor that counts her heartbeats and respirations. I noticed her respirations are very sporatic through out the day. Sometimes very slow and shallow, and sometimes very rapid. Dr says it's normal for babies to fluctuate. Every time the drs does her download for the monitor, nothing is reported as being abnormal when it comes to her breathing. So, don't worry...it's okay. It will level out when she gets older.

nmck - Sunday, 27 July
I bought generic Boppy at Walmart. It is fabulous because it is $20 instead of $35, and it has a little foldout thing where you can strap the baby in when a little older and can stay propped in the Boppy. The only downside is there are not as many patterns to choose from, but we have used it a ton.
