Hi .. please read my blogs for more details!!! I have just started writing them.

5/18/08

Aloha!!

Hi mommies hope you all are having a lovely day. Here in Seattle the weather is gorgeous. Yesterday my friends threw me a Hawaii theme surprise baby shower. It was so awesome :-). I had not even made my registry or shopped for anything at all. But now I have a good head start :-). I feel so good today :-) :-)

4/19/08

hi all, I had my repeat scan yesterday. My previous scan was at 20 weeks but they called me again to take a closer look at my baby's heart. I was freaked out but I got a lot of supportive messages from you all. Apparently there were two issues, 1. They could not see ventricular outflow tract 2. They noticed an echogenic focus (bright spot) in baby's Left Ventricle. This week the radiologists were able to visualize the LVOT so that was good news but the echogenic focus was still there :-(. It is usually a marker for DS if it seen along with some other markers. In our case since this was the only marker and my other tests were negative doctor said that the probability is too low. I wish this spot weren't there but when something like this happens you seem to appreciate life all the more. I was getting used to taking things for granted. I will try to think happy thoughts and will pray that my baby will be healthy. I pray the same for you all :-).

4/4/08

Thanks so much for your kind comments regarding the issue of my baby's U/S scan. We are schedule for a repeat scan next week. Your kind words, comments and prayers have helped me think positive. I was very upset but you all are great :). I am hoping for the best. I will keep you posted with my next scan results. I received 50+ messages and I am so glad to have such great people to help. I could not reply to each message individually,, so I am blogging this. Thanks so much!!!!

I bought generic Boppy at Walmart. It is fabulous because it is $20 instead of $35, and it has a little foldout thing where you can strap the baby in when a little older and can stay propped in the Boppy. The only downside is there are not as many patterns to choose from, but we have used it a ton.

All the very best. Pray all goes well. Don't be afraid to take pain relief if needed. The contractions will be stronger with an induction.
Thinking of you.

Wow! Good luck!!! You're in my thoughts! Keep us posted!!!!

imamommy - Tuesday, 15 July
very exciting, good luck and congratulations!

Carmione - Tuesday, 15 July
got you in my thoughts...take care. Everything will be just fine. Try to find some peace in knowing that you're in capable hands. I know you planned on having no meds- but don't feel bad if you end up accepting some. Inductions can be a tad harder than going naturally- but either way I'm sure you'll make the right choice for you. Remember this is an experience you will remember-be joyful and don't worry so much. Nobody will consider you a failure because you weren't able to stick to your original birthing plan!

You can do it!! It'll be amazing, and when it's over you'll have your child in your arms. A little bit of nerves is perfectly healthy!

Hi, I'm a dental assistant, if you haven't gotten any help for the tooth yet, call your doctor just to tell him, but you're totally far enough along now and all the dentist should be doing (if you haven't let it go too long) is cleaning off the glue from the crown and re gluing it back on , you shouldn't have to get anestetic becuase the tooth is already dead.. please don't wait though!! It's so important that you get it back on there.

NOLAbaby - Sunday, 6 July
No problem. I hope it helps! I think at some point comfort goes out the window regardless of what you do. I am reaching that point, but I guess is pregnancy was all cookies and candy we would never want to have the baby! Good Luck!

I'm glad you went with Viacord. i already received my cord blood kit and I just need to call them once I'm at the hospital and again when I deliver. -Lica

I'm banking the cord blood through Viacord. I had my mom do all the research and so far we like them best. I think (not a 100% sure) that if the cord blood does not work (let's pray that our little ones never need to use it) then they will refund you something like $5000.00. I'll need to read the agreement again. I would call around and ask questions. Good luck -Lca

moopster - Friday, 27 June
i would get in touch with a cord blood bank quickly as they will not let you sign up after 36 weeks and it can take a little while to process the papers. you might ask your hospital, doctor, or birthiung center which agency they work with as they usually have a recommendation for an agency. good luck!

MommaLogan - Friday, 27 June
I'm going with public cord blood banking. It's free and it means that someone else can use your baby's cord blood, but if you ever need cord blood, they will find you a match. I don't think there's anything wrong with it because sometimes you can't use your own babies cord blood.

shilah - Thursday, 26 June
As far as the cord blood banking: I have done alot of research because I was also going to bank my babys cord blood. I found that in most cases the baby cannot use its own blood. Look on google at the pros and cons, Since I have read up on it im confused about what to do...

lilli1317 - Thursday, 26 June
About Cord Blood Banking. I used to work for LifebankUSA actually processing the cord blood. There are a couple other companies that I know of... Viacord, Corcell, LifebankUSA.. I cant really remember any others but you can google them. LifebankUSA I believe is the most expensive but they are the only company to also offer placenta banking. I believe all pricing is different and there are payment plans available so whatever is best for you. Unfortunately I have never banked (1st pregnancy) so I dont know which to recommend. It's very expensive!

I have the same ribs pain and kicks on the side. My lactation nurse said it was because your ribs separate in the coming weeks to make room for the uterus. Sounds like that might hurt! To get relief, I lie on my back hanging my head off the bed a bit and stretch my hands over my head (suggested by my yoga teacher).

ang*d - Tuesday, 24 June
i was just at the doctors today and asked about my ribs hurting because i feel like they are brusied!! she said because of the baby growing it can make ur ribs feel like they are even broken because as baby gets bigger ur ribs stretch out n widen!!

1st-time-mommy - Tuesday, 24 June
thank you so much for your reply.. talking seems to be the majority of responses that i have gotten and which also happens to be my weakness! i am such an emotional wreck especially when it comes to talking about my emotions. but if i can't get the nerves to do it, i think i will try my best to put it aside and finish the class. what doesn't kill ya can only make you stronger right? and as far as your questions.. i'm not sure about the breast being swollen but would think it would be normal because of the rapid growth. but i do have trouble breathing sometimes and that is absolutely normal and i hear that is an effect from our growing baby and uterus.
