Hi .. please read my blogs for more details!!! I have just started writing them.

5/18/08

Aloha!!

Hi mommies hope you all are having a lovely day. Here in Seattle the weather is gorgeous. Yesterday my friends threw me a Hawaii theme surprise baby shower. It was so awesome :-). I had not even made my registry or shopped for anything at all. But now I have a good head start :-). I feel so good today :-) :-)

4/19/08

hi all, I had my repeat scan yesterday. My previous scan was at 20 weeks but they called me again to take a closer look at my baby's heart. I was freaked out but I got a lot of supportive messages from you all. Apparently there were two issues, 1. They could not see ventricular outflow tract 2. They noticed an echogenic focus (bright spot) in baby's Left Ventricle. This week the radiologists were able to visualize the LVOT so that was good news but the echogenic focus was still there :-(. It is usually a marker for DS if it seen along with some other markers. In our case since this was the only marker and my other tests were negative doctor said that the probability is too low. I wish this spot weren't there but when something like this happens you seem to appreciate life all the more. I was getting used to taking things for granted. I will try to think happy thoughts and will pray that my baby will be healthy. I pray the same for you all :-).

4/4/08

Thanks so much for your kind comments regarding the issue of my baby's U/S scan. We are schedule for a repeat scan next week. Your kind words, comments and prayers have helped me think positive. I was very upset but you all are great :). I am hoping for the best. I will keep you posted with my next scan results. I received 50+ messages and I am so glad to have such great people to help. I could not reply to each message individually,, so I am blogging this. Thanks so much!!!!

I'm sure if you had fibroids, they would have told you by now. They show up on U/S. I already knew I had them coming into my pregnancy, but the tech told me at nine weeks that I had them. I was like yup I know! Didn't have one problem with them while pregnant either and some months I did look farther along than I really was. Go check out my 24 week pic! WHOA! LOL

Good luck and I'm sure you're fine, but ask your OB just to be sure.

Just thought I'd let you know that some days I feel baby and then notice nothing for a couple of days. it's quite normal at this stage.

tiredmommy - Tuesday, 26 Feb
I've never had leaking from just sitting too long, but I definately have to be careful with sneezing or coughing. I've had this problem once in a while since I had my first child almost 3 years ago. I guess those muscles are little weaker now. Of course, being preg again, it's worse now.

jessnkirk - Monday, 25 Feb

I'm in Seattle too! And I definitely agree on us Seattlites needing vit D! I used to go tanning to get it, but don't want to bake my baby now!

MelisaK - Sunday, 17 Feb
Yes! I went from 163 to 147. Another friend of mine did the same thing. So I wouldn't worry, I guess it does have to slow down.

donnamarie - Saturday, 16 Feb
I get more headaches now with my glasses and its a prescription from 1 year ago, before my pregnancy i had NO issues, if yours is changing so much that you need new glasses i would suggest to do something for it, but if you can wait it out until the baby is born, my mother said her eyes changed a lot more, so to wait it out, just do not risk your visual health if you need new glasses that badly , but yes this can happen during pregnancy with all the changes going on in your body

Hey momjo, ya I'm not too sure either. Mabye b/c of the history og this pregngncy with me spotting...he's taking precautions. Dunno. Take care!!

mspriss - Thursday, 7 Feb
yes I agree the discharge is totally normal.. I have tons of it, and the cramping is probably just your uterus growing, I had the exact same symptom in the exact same week as you. :)

becky468 - Wednesday, 6 Feb
Its normal for you to have yellow discharge at this time. I had the same thing with spotting. I went to the doctors and had an infection on my cervex. I was given antibiotcs for it mainly for the spotting. But my doc said the discharge is normal and some people have a more 'mucusy' cervex. I know that sounds gross. Your pregnant and your cervex does weird things now anyway. It ok and there is nothing to worry about.

donnamarie - Monday, 4 Feb
my coworkers noticed during my second month pregnant, they said my breasts have gotten bigger and my clothes fit closer, so dont feel bad, some people are just more receptive than others :)

Izziebo - Monday, 4 Feb
i lost lots of weight when i first got preghnant n now im bigger than b4 and cearly showin n im only 13 weeks lol and its also my 1st. i supose every pregnancy is different:D xxx

GoonieMomma - Monday, 4 Feb
Bah humbug to all those who say you don't start showing w/ your first until well into 2nd trimester. Keep in mind that coworkers see you more than family, and any change will be noticable to them, esp if you are 'normally' quite thin. Also, remember kiddo is about the size of a lemon (!!) right now. If you stuck a lemon, wrapped in a grapefruit in your pants, would you NOT expect someone to notice?? Too bad your coworker has not yet learned preggo-etiquette. Make sure to give a guiding hand b4 you end up in tears or exploding! I informed mine immediately after 'telling' what I will and won't be taking (I'm so happy you're interested, but I would really appreciate it if you not mention my weight, ask me about what I am/am not doing medically including sex of the baby, as well as respecting my space as far as touching my body). It was kind of important for me as I work with all Chinese women, and their cultural differences w/ pregnancy compared to mine are SO different! I had one tell me that my jeans would kill my baby- and the same one tell me that she wasn't surprised that I'm pregnant- cuz I'm so fat (I think she meant- my goodness, your BBs are looking so voluptuous, as I'm still a size 4 and have also only gained one pound!). Long post- but don't fret. And remember- if you're met with rudeness, don't be afraid to say how much it hurt you! Sometimes being completely blunt keeps them quiet! Or... they think you're hormonal and they give you a wide berth- who cares, as long as they give you a wide berth!!! Take care, take deep breaths, and long walks! Jen

I LOVE Olay's new 'Quench' body lotion. Use it on my legs, tum, and the ladies up top. Husband loves the smell and it has the very faintest shimmer- only noticable to me, but enough to make me feel a touch sexy with these pants getting tighter... alas, it's a good thing!

Dani and Xander - Thursday, 31 Jan
I used Palmers Tummy Butter for my stomach and chest.. but the do make a body lotion to for the the body that is for stretch marks and is made for pregnant woman. The tummy butter is thick if you are extra dry

MommaD - Thursday, 31 Jan
My skin was really itching and dry for awhile. I started using Cetaphil (you can get at any drugstore) on my body. And I use cocoa butter stretch mark cream on my tummy and rear.

whitj2554 - Thursday, 31 Jan
Ya id start using it now...some people dont get stretch marks i have none on my stomach but the ones that i do have arnt very visable cause i keep them moisturized. But as far as dry skin it helps alot to.

bennaB - Tuesday, 29 Jan
Thank you so much for your response. I got so many responses back it was amazing! Congratulations on your pregnancy too! That's so funny how our dates are so similar. I will have to ask for them to check again.

liddy - Tuesday, 29 Jan

Dani and Xander - Tuesday, 29 Jan
They were saying excessive usage. I think once in awhile is probably ok. Def. talk to your OB. Let me know what they say.

Dani and Xander - Tuesday, 29 Jan
Hi saw your post on fetal dopplers. I posted an article a few weeks ago about them. I read that excessive use at home can be possibly linked to autism. I would def. talk with your physician about it.

marjay100 - Monday, 28 Jan
Thanks! Yes, get all the exams done to make sure you're not deficient, & if you are, don't worry, just take the recommended supplements and you'll be fine. Keep me posted!

pamallhoney - Monday, 28 Jan
I so wish I would have had a forum like this with my first child 12 years ago. But as you can see even after 4, I still am unsure of all my decisions. I try to let the fear go and just trust God.

pamallhoney - Monday, 28 Jan
I wouldn't recommend it. I don't know what I was personally thinking. I've done 4 pregnancies without my own fetal doppler. Again this is just my opinion. I know there are women who need the reassurance because of previous miscarriages. And maybe a more expensive one is of better quality than what we have. I know we are all just trying to do the best by our babies.
