I am enjoying my baby girl sooo much! I cant stand to go work because I miss her like crazy, so I have started my own business. I am still working right now until it jumps off, but when it does...oh boy!

BIRTH STORY!!

Well ladies, on Jan 2 I went to my regular and got a membrane strip. There wasn't any blood then so I just assumed that it did not work. Boy was I wrong! That night when I went to bed, I couldn't sleep well b/c of the contractions I was having. They had been irregular all night. Then around 6:00am the next day we went to the hospital b/c I couldn't take it any longer! I was 3cm dialated and contractions were about 2 - 4 minutes apart. I wasn't dialating much at all so they broke my water to help and noticed that the baby had a bowel movement. I was freaked out at that point. I then received an epidural that DID NOT WORK! I was in sooo much pain. To top it off, I was given pitocin a little later on b/c I was dialating slowly. Now I begin to dialate, but every time I had a contraction, my baby's heartrate dropped drastically! After experiencing the doc and staff rushing in my room 3x's for my baby's crashing heartrate, I asked for a c-section. The doc said that there was no danger at the moment, but when she feels there is, they will do whatever they can to deliver the baby right away. Finally, I was fully dialated, but the baby had not dropped. I had been in sooo much pain that I demanded another epidural AND IT WORKED!!! So I had to push to help her come down some, but she wouldn't come. She was sideways from after being turned from sunny side up!! So after sitting (for10 minutes) in a chair to help her come down and hopefully turn, the staffed rushed in the room and started giving me medicine, covering my hair, and threw my bf a suit to put on. They forgot to tell me that I was going into surgery until they gave me consent forms to sign. Anyway, the baby was great and unaffected by the meconium!! We are still at the hospital because I can't pass gas! I can't believe it b/c I could light up a fire when I was preggo!!

Kennedi Kayla Wheaton

Born Jan 3rd; weighing 5lbs 13oz and 18 1/2 inches long!!!

01/11/08-We made it home January 6th! Kennedi is doing great!! Things are definitely not easy right now. I am trying to breastfeed, but she is killing me. She is nibbling on my nipples, trying to put her hands in her mouth while I am trying to force my nipples on her mouth! LOL! She is only a week old and we are already fighting!!

HELLO ALL!

I am 30 and having my first child. Everyone around me is excited. I have mild stomach cramps and back aches every day, so I am trying not to be too concerned. I haven't had an ultrasound yet, so I hope that everything is okay. I pray that I have a healthy pregnancy!

UPDATE!!

Along with the cramping I've had recently, I also had a little bleeding. Everyone told me to get it checked out and I did. I was soooo afraid that I was miscarrying, that I convinced myself that I was not preg and that I had a cyst on my ovaries. I figured that the cyst caused the EPT to be positive and is also the reason that I had these symptoms. LOL!! I found out that the cramping was normal and the bleeding was implantation. I still was not convinced. My mother and my boyfriend told me that I was crazy! So, I had an u/s and guess what I saw..... A BABY! No cyst what so ever (LMAO)!! I even heard the heartbeat!! This should be enough assurance, huh?

To this day (8 weeks and 1 day pregnant) I can not believe that I am carrying a baby. I wonder when it's gonna sink in. :) Do you think a cyst could have a gestational sac with a noise similar to a heartbeat?? Just kidding!! I know, it's a Baby!

6/7/07-Okay, when am I gonna start showing?? I am sooo tired of people saying..."Oh, you have picked up weight"!! I am sooo ready for them to say..."oh, you're having a baby"! :)

6/15/07-I had my u/s yesterday and I couldn't believe it! My baby was jumping up and down, playing with his/her cord and turning flips! The first thought that came to mind was, "somebody is gonna have a lot of time out!" It was more active than the baby on the 10 week page. I can't wait to see if it is a boy or girl! I am thinking gymnastics or karate!

7/06/07- I haven't updated my page in a while, I guess it's pregnancy laziness syndrome! HAHA! Here is an update. I went to see the midwfe on 7/03 and let me tell you, it was scary. See, if I can't get an ultrasound, I am just as happy listening to the heartbeat. Well the Midwife came in and took my blood pressure and then wanted to hear the baby's (I just refuse to call it a fetus) heartbeat. So, I am laying on the table while she is moving the doppler all over my belly, trying to find the faintest sound to a heartbeat. Minutes have gone by and...nothing! My boyfriend and I both were sitting there like we were in a trance. Nervous. Five minutes have gone by and...nothing! The midwife was not giving up! After ten mibutes, she found it! YAY!! Everything was fine! Heartrate was great!! I tell ya, I think I am having a trouble maker!! I can not explain how I felt when she found it. While I was lying there listening out for any kind of sound, was also thinking "how will I continue my day". The Midwife said that the next step would have been an u/s if she didn't find the heartbeat when she did. My boyfriend was disappointed. :) He reallllly wanted to see the baby. I think he likes this stuff more than ME!

7/18/07-I had bloodwork done yesterday to see if the baby will have any disorders, I forgot to ask when to expect results. Maybe sometime this week. Everything else is fine. The baby's heartbeat was 144bpm. The Midwife didn't have to search all over for it like she did last time, she found it w/in 5 secs. As far as my health is concerned, I have pregnancy induced carpal tunnel. It is soooo painful! In addition, I have gained 5 pounds in 2 weeks!!! I am trying my best not to freak out, but it is easier said than done! I find out what I am having Aug 16 and can not wait! I really don't care as long as it is a healthy baby!

7/21/07- I have been feeling the baby move this week, and it is gonna take some getting used to! It likes to sit in the bottom of my stomach and is very uncomfortable. It moves constantly, while I am awake. As I am typing this, the baby is turning flips and jumping in my belly. I really hope that it find another spot that is comfortable to the both of us! With all of this pain, I am not upset. It is my way of knowing that everything is okay!

7/23/07- I am feeling really low right now. One of the Midwives called me earlier today and told me that my AFP test came back positive and they are referring me to a specialist who will perform a level 2 ultrasound on me. I was so upset that I had to leave work early. I called my mom again about any abnormalities that she may know of on her side of the family as well as m father's and came up with nothing. My boyfriend and his father was born with 12 fingers, so I am thinking this maybe causing a positive result. I read on this sight about the test and how it gives false positives, so I pray that everything is fine. They haven't scheduled the level 2 u/s yet, and I am trying not to drive myself insane, waiting on their phone call.

8/03/07-I had my Level II ultrasound on 8/01 and they did not find any markers for down syndrome and the baby is perfectly healthy. I also found out that...IT'S A GIRL!!!!!! I am soooo excited. I tell you , GOD is good! I already have a name for her...KENNEDY. It is my deceased father last name. I do not have his last name, so I thought it to be perfect.

When I first found out that I was pregnant, I was embarrassed because I was not married. I never pictured myself having children without a husband. With all of this that I have been through, I cannot imagine ever trying to hide my pregnancy. This is a blessing from God, and not to be ashamed of. I thank him everyday now, forgiving me a healthy little girl! :)

8/22/07-Hi all! I am having a wonderful day! Last night I was lying on my back and I could feel the baby kick. Ususally when I feel the baby kick, I can't feel it from the outside. Well last night, I FELT IT!!!! She kicked me 3 times. So this morning she was kicking and I felt it again! This is such a wonderful thing! I would have never thought that I would enjoy being kicked! I am floating on cloud nine. I can't wait to meet my little Muffin!

10/05/07-Okay, well I am definitely feeling the wrath of pregnancy! I have picked up nearly 45 pounds! I can not squat and pick anything up, I can not bend over, I can not sleep on my sides (only on my back) so I sleep sitting up, and my pregnancy induced carpal tunnel is getting worse! I don't want an only child, but at this rate, it is being heavily contemplated! But on a lighter note, I have been feeling my little munchkin practicing karate, and it is so heartwarming! I can't believe that I love her already and we have never met! I daydream about holding and feeding her all of the time. I definitely can't wait to bring her home (WHEN SHE IS DUE). Although, I am quite nervous about delivery. I need to start taking Lamaze classes, maybe they will help with being more at ease about it.

10/14/07-Friday I got to see my little Muffin again! I had and ultrasound because the doctors thought that maybe she was probably a little big. Guess what? She weighs 2 pounds and 6 ounces! She is in the 55th percentile! I love her already!! Because she's got a lot of room, she was all stretched out like she was lying in a hammock. Just adorable!! I took the glucose test as well, but I haven't received the test results yet. Although I have been having massive headaches lately, I think I may have passed the test. I have a huge headache right now, so I am gonna try to relax for a moment, so I will upate you all later. I am also gonna post some belly and ultrasound pics!

10/19/2007- I received my phone call yesterday with my results from my Glucose screening test and guess what? I PASSED! I am so excited because I have picked up 55 pounds and I am only 5'1". I hope that all of this weght is water! LOL! That is what I am convincing myself to believe. Anyway, I have been feeling my Muffin move so much lately. She is a serious kicker! When she is done torturing my insides, she likes to stretch out lay that way until I am nudging her feet out of my ribs. She already has personality too! When I sit straight up on the edge of my chair, she kicks the daylights out of me until I sit back. Isn't she mean? As the saying goes, "Like mother like daughter!"

11/08/07- Okay ladies, I am getting a little anxious about everything now. My Muffin's nursery is incomplete and my house is not organized. I have not completely decided when I am going on maternity leave. I am leaning toward Dec 1st (day of baby shower), but I am not sure. Maybe near the middle of the month. I sell houses for a builder but I am not doing as great as I did before the pregnancy. I do not travel the stairs when I show anymore, I do not follow up with customers, and I am always too tired to go to work! I bought a house in the subdivision where I work, so sometimes I go home for a short rest and do not return to work until the next day. I work on 100% commission, so the money I make is what I make of it! I am confused, stressed, and out of order.

12/07/07- Hello readers! Just a little update for ya... I have been in labor and delivery the past 2 Mondays and I have not progressed. I first went in because I was dizzy, seeing stars, and crampy. L & D hooked me up to the monitors and said that I was having contractions. So they gave me 3 shots of TERBUTALINE and an i.v to calm them down. THEY NEVER CHECKED ME AT ALL FOR DIALATION OR ANY CERVIX CHANGES BEFORE THEY SHOT ME UP!! However, I did find out that my blood pressure was low. Last monday I went in because of sharp pains in the bottom of my stomach. They told me that I the pain that I am experiencing is from the baby dropping and again...I wasn't checked at all!! Let me tell you, after this, my main goal in life was to get checked for any changes. So, Thursday I had a Dr's appointment for my GBS test and I thought she was gonna check me for any changes...SHE DIDN'T! So I told her about my L&D visits and she said nothing. I then told her that they never checked me for any changes and the DR said nothing. So I asked her, "when am I gonna be checked?" She was like, "we will do that in 2 weeks". At this point, I had the worse attitude. She then said, "do you want me to check you?" I almost jumped on her!! Hell Yeah!!! DUH! So she checked and guess what?????? NO CHANGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UUUUGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! I am progressing very slow!!! I haven't experienced the painful breasts or leaky!!! What is going on???????

12/22/07- I have lost a big hunk of my mucus plug!!! I know, TMI. But I think that is great news! I started losing it almost 2 weeks ago, and now I am losing more. I certainly hope this means that I will be delivering my baby soon. On my last 2 appointments, I was 1cm dialated and 70% effaced. I am thinking I am alot further along now!! :)

12/27/07-I had an appointment yesterday and I found out the baby has dropped more. She is at -1 station and I am still at 1 friggin' cm!!!!!!!!!! What in the H-E double hockey sticks is going on??? I just wish that my baby and my body was on the same page with my mind!! I am ready to deliver my baby! I am starting to believe that by the time she comes, she will be weighing 10 POUNDS! OOOHHHHH I can't take it anymore!!!!!!!

12/30/07- I had been sooo tired of being pregnant that Friday I decided to call my doctor's office and tell them of my leakage that I had been experiencing. The real reason I wanted to go in was to get stretched again. I know that my leakage is incontinence and mucus plug. Anyway, when I went in, I found out that my blood pressure was high and there where large traces of protein in my urine. So, I had to go to triage for tests and ultrasound. All of the tests and ultrasound was fine. My blood pressure went down when I laid down on my side, so they let me go with a 24 hour urine test. I have to go to the Dr's office Monday morning to take the urine in and run more tests. If my blood pressure is still high, then I will have to be induced. As bad as I want my baby girl, I hope that everything is fine.
