14.9 hours ago you're welcome; I am glad he is doing well :) mommy4ever -
27.2 hours ago This is called Vicks Baby Rub Soothing Ointment, it says babies 3 months and up as needed. I found it at Walmart in the pharmacy area. I didn't have to use much so there still is alot left in the container for the next cold.
I am glad to hear he is getting better. Let me know how things go (: mommy4ever -
Sunday, 16 November You can get Baby Vick's Rub. It is safe for the baby and I just rubbed it on my son' neck, chest and back. It seemed to help. I also bought a little plug-in vaporizer from Walmart. It only cost $8. You just put in refills like a plug-in. I think it might have helped my son to breathe easier and sleep better with his cold. It lasted about 10 days and then his cold was gone. I guess it just had to run its course. I did give him Infant Motrin for his occasionaly fever. Hope this helps! Oh, they also have special boogie wipes at the store. These wipes have saline in them and it is soothing to their noses. mom2boy -
Sunday, 16 November Yeah, I use to try and suck my babies nose without plugging one side too because I didn't know either ha ha ha us first time moms have a lot to learn. My little guy is getting over a cold right now too. Poor babies. ggfirsttime -
Sunday, 16 November you can give baby tylenol and can use ocean spray (saline) for babies for his nose. wendy1stbaby -
Sunday, 16 November Why can't you give him any medicine? My son had a little cold and the dr told me I can give him baby tylenol. It comes with a little dropper and she told me I could give him 8 (mL?) but I only gave him 4 once, this was at 3 months. I also gave him 4mL after he got his 4 months shots, he was really cranky and had a fever, he was alot better afterwards. He also was stuffy and I used baby nose drops, it comes with a boogie sucky thing and I cleaned him out good. I really don't like giving him medicine but it helped him. Ask your dr. If not just keep trying the humidifier and I recommend the saline nose drops. Good luck, I hope your baby feels better. :( mom2boy -
Sunday, 16 November I so understand what you are going through as my baby spent most of his third and fourth month with a cold and this is what works best for us. Sleep him in his swing or car seat or put something under the mattress at one end to create an incline, just make sure it is UNDER the mattress. This way his head will be up higher and help let his nose drain out. Put saline nose drop up his nose and then use a suction bulb to get all the junk out. You have to plug the opposite nostril while sucking or else it won't create a suction. After sucking all that junk out I like to put more saline up his nose and just leave it, that will help him from having sore dry nasal passages. Run a humidifier, nurse often and you can give tylenol but the dosage is dependent on weight and you need to ask your doctor how much to give him. Ok I think that is it, sorry your little one is sick, my baby got sick a lot when he first started daycare but it has gotten much much better for him although he is currently getting over a little cold as well as my husband. I agree with maky, I would give my little guy tylenol at night with or without a fever to help take the edge off of any sore throats or anything but only at night. If he gets a high fever or appears to be having a hard time breathing take him to the doctors, RSV season is about here I think. manda21 -
Sunday, 16 November I hate it when my little guy gets a cold. I use saline drops, a humidifier, vicks bath gel made by johnsons, he bulb, and I put his mattress at an incline which doesnt work that well, so i let him sleep upright in his bouncer and that helps a lot. If I am desperate, I runthe shower and let the bathroom get steamy, and sit in there with him. GOod luck! momoffive -
Sunday, 16 November oh wait, you have a 4 month old, you are not supposed to give anything other than tylonal before 6 months without a perscription. I was replying from the 7 month page and forgot you had said you have a 4 month old. I'm sorry. momoffive -
Sunday, 16 November I have 4 kiddo's (no longer 5like in my name one was a foster child)and I agree with maky. That is pretty much all you can do. You CAN give triaminic but you have to find a dosing chart. My friend worked in urgent care and the dr's there ok'd it and dosed according to weight. I have found medicine really isn't that helpful though. I also agree with the tylonal at night regardless of a fever. I know when I have a nasty cold I am also achey fever or not so it may help your little one to sleep a little more comfortably. If they cough gets really bad or the snot gets really thick you can run a hot shower and sit in the steamy bathroom. We have a little wall heater in our bathroom so we can make our own little sauna in there and it's worked wonders when our foster daughter had croup. Also, for me personaly, my kids sleep in our bed as infants so I prop them up on my arm or on my chest or we would spend a couple of nights sleeping in the recliner. That can help get you thru the really stuffy nights but also creates REALLY bad habits if you aren't cosleeping already. maky -
Sunday, 16 November Try saline drops in the nose and use that blue syringe you got from the hospital to suck all the boogies out. My son just got over a bad cold. The cool humidifier is good also! If he gets a fever give him .8 of tylenol. The first few days, I gave my baby the tylenol at night regardless of whether he had a fever, because he was miserable :( If he gets a high fever take him in to the Dr. right away. Of course you know that. But that's pretty much all we can do. Is a little TLC! I hope your baby gets better soon! Laura Ward -

Hi there,
I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.
We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.
If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

Saturday, 19 July I have tried all that stuff to keep Edyn awake. She wakes up and just falls back to sleep. When she does sleep she could sleep through a hurricane. LOL Thanks though. BabyBennett -
Saturday, 19 July We just got permission from the doc. to let her sleep at night. :) She had lost a bunch of weight and wasn't having wet diapers, so we did have to wake her up, but no more!! It's such a relief! youngmommy9 -

Sunday, 13 July What you describe sounds about normal for having a c-sec on the 30th. re-tearing ur ab muscles hurts a lot, Like when I would get into bed I couldn't lift my leg up into the bed because that pulls on the lower abs and stuff like that, I'm still having problems with it. This all started when I was about 3 and a half weeks post op and decided I was tired of sitting around and wanted to start working out, long story short, take the full 6 weeks off and let your body heel correctly!!! I'm sure your fine, If you are still feeling pains on the 6th week when you have your check up, tell the doctor, but I'm sure you will be fine. Congrats on the baby!!!! megans mama -
Sunday, 13 July Ok, thanks - that's good to know! We were worried. cinnammonngirl -
Friday, 11 July Thank you for your response. :o) I had almost no swelling at all during the pregnancy, so that's why now I'm like, what is this?? I agree with you about the water...I used to drink a ton of it, but I got out of the habit in the last two weeks. I probably need it now more than ever! :o) ragskusa24 -
Friday, 11 July Thanks so much for the advice!! I have heard of Colace and I'll bring it with me to the hospital. I am thinking about doing an enema the day before I go into the hospital. Hopefully that will help with everything too. I have been suffering from some gas problems this pregnancy and so I wouldn't be surprised if I have some of these issues. Thank again!!!
