heyya there...I personally felt that it was kind of harsh the way u put it out there, u cud have a been a lil more nicer to her...coz U know that she was only disappointed from the whole U/S thing, and not abt the baby being active(I am sure she wud have loved that part) and that they gave her only the frontal view (which is usually freaky LOL, when I showed my bubba's frontal view some ppl kinda made funny comment that it was looking ghostly, scary,freaky what not..but it is juz some kinda exclamation that comes to their mind - AND I AM SURE NO ONE SAYS THAT TO HURT U or IS BEING MEAN TO THE BABY )

I had told her to throw a "welcome baby" party when the baby is born and to invite all of your family and friends to your house ...I honestly dont think anyone will come empty handed..and to make it like a open house so they can come when they have time....I dont find out until THURS!!! I cant wait!!!!!!!

I really don't care what the sex is as long as my baby is healthy (fiance on the other hand really freaking wants a boy) Ive just always thought I was going to have a girl so the thought of raising a boy is kind of weird to me

at this point I have 3 girls and 2 boys, so it doesnt matter, easier to have a girl for hand me downs, but either one, I am just praying its healthy!

hi, when I went to my ob weeks ago she asked if I had any inkling what sex it is and I said no not yet, she was listening to heartbeat and said its between 167-170 and that its probably a girl

I was told that the low blood sugar did not hurt the baby. They did tell me that I had to many lows also. They can never be perfect I guess. With my daughter I kept my blood sugars around 135 and she weighed 7 4 0z. With my son I kept them around 90 and he only weighed 6lbs. So I think they do affect the weight. Is your husband excited about the boy news? My daughter said oh no another boy!

Another shower isn't a bad idea. My mother-in-law is going to throw a shower for me. This is my second one.. but the first will be 8 in July. I am also going to help her plan the shower. I already have a list of friends for her. Good Luck!!

i would say go for the shower, every baby deserves to be celebrated!! and if you already have everything you need just put on the invatation no gift required and if people bring them they do but they still know they are not expected. thats what we did with my uncle's wife she had a girl and then a boy a little over a year later and it was a hit!! good luck on what you deciede!!

Thanks and again, good luck with the shower if you do decide to have one! I wish I could have had one but oh well! We moved to a new city, at least 3hrs away from any friends and family so I'm going to throw a housewarming/welcome baby party combined. It'll be most convenient for everyone that way, I hope!

Every baby deserves to be welcomed whether its your first or 10th. I didn't have one with my first child but this one my mom and mother in law threw me a shower. I didn't do too badlly with gifts. i think you definatley deserve to have a shower for this baby! They are for mom as well as baby... Erin

This is an issue with everyone after their first child. Since it's a boy I would say go ahead and go for it. Just expect people not to be so lavish with their gifts this time around, you should expect a lot of onesies, blankets, bottles etc. I have two children six years apart and a lot of my friends and family said it was poor etiquette to have one. But I felt like both my childrens births were a time for celebration and if they thought otherwise, they were more than welcomed not to attend. Good luck.

I say have another shower! My friend and I threw ourselves a joint shower last weekend, and it was fine. No one thought it was tacky, and we got to do things the way we wanted them! I think you should be able to celebrate the arrival of every baby, whether it's your first or your twentieth!

The two shower thing.... I don't really think it's right to throw one yourself, but if you want to, go for it. I do, however think it's alright to have a 2nd shower. Especially if your first was a girl and this one is a boy or the other way around or if they are more than 5yrs apart. This is my 2nd baby... Another boy and they will be almost exactly 3yrs apart. Depending when this one decides to come! But no one threw me a baby shower and I didn't throw one myself. I do think that every bay deserves some kind of party so I'm planning a welcome baby party after he is born. Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to do!!!

hey! i sort of get why you shouldn't have 2 showers however...this is my second too..the first was a boy and i'm pretty sure this one is a girl (go for another ultrasound in a few weeks) and if it's a girl I have to start all over! A whole new bedroom, new clothes, girly stuff all around...plus i would need a double stroller, etc....so honestly...i would have rather had my shower now rather than last time because before my son I had tons of money and now I have significantly less (because he needs a lot of stuff) So if someone wants to throw me another shower I am certainly not going to say no. I like the idea of samanthajo to have a diaper drop off if you are having the same sex as your first but i have so many diapers left over from my first that is the last thing i'll need (granted I will have to buy diapers eventually..i don't have THAT many) but to start off it would be nice to have some outfits and some help with the bedding and bedroom stuff

I think it just depends on if you really need things. As for me this is my 3rd and I'm having another baby shower i have a baby shower with my two girls, with my oldests it was my first babyshower but with my youngests i needed the baby shower b/c my friend was pregnant at the sametime and found out she was having a girl so i gave her all my stuff b4 i even knew i was going to be having another baby so i needed it. As for this one iy's a boy and i have NOTHING but a crib i once again got rid of all my stuff b/c i didn't have any plans on having another baby for a while and besides with this one being a boy i need boy things anyway, so a baby shower isn't a bad idea. Anyway Good Luck!!!! And have a Happy Pregnancy!!! :)
