This is my second baby as well, and I already have a girl and I am having another girl, so I have a ton of clothes and stuff still from the first one (she is only 2) so I decided to have a diaper drop off party. We rented a pavilion at a local park and we are going to BBQ and have just a BIG party with both men and women and everyone just brings diapers and stuff (that will SAVE a TON of MONEY!!) And this is just something that is small, but I don't see anything wrong with having a traditional baby shower if this is your second or third or so on... I just personally don't need a traditional baby shower since I still have everything from my daughter! Good Luck to you Girl!

I just went to a "sprinkle" this weekend. My friend is having her second (a girl) and the first one is a boy. Generally its a close friend or family member who hosts it and is not nearly as elaborate as the first one. There were about 12 or 13 people there close friends and family at her favorite restaurant. Everyone pretty much just gave her clothes since she had everything else already. It was fun.

i see nothing wrong with having a baby shower. i've actually never heard of anybody not having one...even with multiple pregnancies. you still need new stuff for your new baby so whats the harm in having a shower to get what you need? it's also a celebration for the new little one to come and it's a day to make you feel special. =0)

If I'm being totally honest, (and maybe it's because this is only my first baby), I feel like it's tacky to have showers for each child. (Sorry!) I would go with a "Meet the baby" party for afterwards if you really want to do something. If someone else was throwing you a shower and it was out of your control, that's one thing, but for me, personally, I would feel really awkward doing it myself.

A few exceptions, is it the daddy's first baby? In that case, I think it's okay, even if it's not mom's first. And how old is the first born? If they're older than 8 or 9, I also think it's okay. But if they're younger than that, I wouldn't do it.

Sorry! I hope you don't think I'm being rude. I just wanted to tell you my honest opinion. Some people don't think they're appropriate and if you have one, you'll likely run into some of those people too. Good luck in whatever you decide! :)

Hi girly..... I am having my third little one and my sister is throwing me a baby shower... I never heard of not having a baby shower for each baby until I noticed mommies on here talking about it. My family and friends would be insulted if I didnt have a shower. I am helping my sister with certain things... like what kind of decor I want basically she is wanting my opinion so I dont see anything wrong with having another shower and planning it on your own. meet the baby shower sounds wonderful.... i think u should go with that. plus u wont have the big bump making u feel uncomfortable and everyone will be wanting to hold baby so u get a few mins to urself..... and u have plenty of time to plan for it all by urself and it will help to make things go quicker..x.x.x.x

Congrats on your little boy!! I had a girl first and then a boy what a big difference! My son is into everything and will not sit still, but he was a much better infant always slept through the night. Totally a moma's boy!
