Story:

My name is Leslie and I have been married for 6 years to my wonderful husband Scott. We have 2 great children Blake who is 7 and Gabby who just turned 5. I have been blesed by the Lord in many ways. I was a single parent to Blake from the time he was 5 weeks until we met Scott when Blake was 15 months old. My ex-husband was my high school sweetheart and he decided it was better to run around getting other women pregnant than to take care of his new son. So after 5 weeks he never saw Blake again. Scott and Blake have been inseperable and Scott adopted him, giving him the dad he deserved. After about a year we were blesed with a little girl we named Gabby. Our family seemed to be complete until we found out we were pregnant in August 2005. We had a miscariage shortly there after at 7 weeks. I have never forgotten my angel and I pray that he/ she is playing in the Lord's garden and we will meet one day in Heaven.

I work as an Office Manager for a pain center in NC. I enjoy my job greatly and hope to be able to go back to work aoon after giving birth. I love family and friends and believe that all things happen for a reason. So here is our Pregnancy Story!

April 9, 2008

I had suspected that I was pregnant because my period was a week late. I bought a test and there were two bold lines. We are PREGNANT! I am excited and hubby is a little hesitant....but we will work on him!

April 10, 2008

Tonight we told Blake and Gabby that we would be having a new baby soon. Oh, Boy were they excited!!! Blake just got the biggest grin on his face! Gabby was very contemplative and asked " you mean Ella ( our Boxer) is having puppies???? Poor thing we really surprised her. Then they both at one time said, "I want a brother, I want a sister!!! This is going to be such fun, I really am excited!

OMG!!!!!! Okay well today we found out that yes we are still pregnant and yes there were heartbeatS......yes twins! They are doing great they are in their own sack and healthy. We could not tell just yet if they are fraternal or identical. But it is so awesome I get an ultrasound every month now!!!!

May 1st, 2008

The doctor called first thing and told me she had reviewed the sonogram on disk and that she thought they looked great! I was so happy to hear that. I know I saw them both but it is more peace of mind than anything. Baby A had a heartrate of 185 and Baby B had a heartrate of 182.

We go back for our normal check up on May 9th and for another sonogram on May 30th!

Well today is not a good day. I have been so sick. I am nausious, dizzy, hot, my BP is high,I have had a headache for 2 days, I feel so weak and so very tired. I called the doctor and her nurse told me " your probably having a bad pregnancy day, hun". All I could think was something was wrong with my babies. But I have not had any bleeding or anything so I am just praying when I go in Friday they will hear them both. Keep us in your prayers.

Today is Mother's Day! I was awaken at 8:30 am with cereal and applesauce for breakfast! Such sweet kids they are. They even made me lemonade ( I had no idea we had stuff for lemonade so I was LITTLE weary!!) However it was very good my favorite cereal and applesauce two of my favorits right now.

We then went to my Grandmother's home for lunch. My Mom and sisters and thier families all came. It was great fun. Our family has such love and heritage, I just cannot wait for these two new little bundles to grow up in our family.

Gabby and I spent the day together at the North Carolina Zoological Park. We had a great day enjoying each other and seeing all the animals. We were able to interact with a great Tortois named "Tort" and see the training hour of the Sea Lions.

Okay so maybe I have been procrastinating but here are the belly pics finally. These are 13 weeks with our TWINS!!! We have some ideas on boy names: Tatum James and Tyler Franklin or maybe and I only mean maybe ( Hubby likes em but me not so much!!!) Wyatt James and Waylan Jameson. Now girl names have been a little more difficult. Reece, Grace, Emily, but not sure yet!

We had a very busy doctors visit today. They decide since I am carrying twins and borderline diabetic already that they wanted to check my sugar early. So we did a one hour glucose test today. I forgot how sweet that stuff was....yuck but still not as bad as it could have been!!!

We also had an ultrasound that lasted an hour and a half! It was so nice to see them again. My how they have grown. I knew they would but I was so surprised any how. Baby A's HR was 173 and Baby B's HR was 176.They had actually little arms and legs just peddeling around!!! All the tests looked great no Spinal Bifida and the nuchal translucency was Normal!!!! They told us they are about 3 iches long and right on track.

I then had my normal Ob visit. They had to up my blood pressure medicine to 60 mg. It has been running high already! I still have not gained any weight. I have lost a total of 10 pounds this month. But the doctor said it is okay we will pick it up later!!!

June 11th-21st, 2008

Hubby, kids and I spent our summer vacation in Florida. We had a blast and it was great to spend time with Blake and Gabby before we double our children in number!! I took a belly pic too so here it is...not much bigger yet but a little................................

We FINALLY decided on names for the babies!!!!!

We went to the doctor for our check up. We are doing great! I have only gained 1.5 pounds so far and at 18 weeks we are measuring a mear 20 weeks. They were able to find both heartbeats today by doppler. Baby A (Tatum) has a heartrate of 175 and Baby B ( lil mystery kid!) has a heartrate of 170.

The only bad thing is I have to go in every 2 weeks because my blood pressure is not cooperating. They have already increased my dosage of blood pressure medication but the pressures are still elevated. So they are keeping a close eye on that since I had pre-eclampsia and Toxemia with my first child.

July 10th, 2008

I had to call the doctor today. I just felt awful. For three days now I have had stomach crampings , wobbly legs and arms, dizzyness, and nausea, I had passed out Tuesday evening and had really never quiet regained my normal feeling. So in I went to the doctor where they put in an IV and pushed fluids because I was severly dehydrated and having contractions because of it.Both babies were fine though steady heartes in the 160's for them both! She also told me to drink as much as I could and rest more.She gave Ambien to try to get a more restful sleep when I was able to rest. All should be normal again sson and we get to see the babies on the ultrasound tomorrow!!!!

So today we went for our 2o week scan. It was amazing. The babies are both doing great and groing steadily. They both weigh in at 11 onces each. Baby A is 1 day bigger she said but that is pretty normal. We did find out we are getting two BOYS!!! So Tatum and Wyatt will join our family in the next few months and we are so excited. I have gained a total of 4 pounds now and the doctor said I am doing well! Yay!!

Okay so I have been whinning alot about not feeling the babies move. Well today while at work I kept getting these rolling sensations and when I sat down for a while I realized it is Tatum and Wyatt moving around. Oh, I was just beside myself. I still have no idea who is doing what of course but they are there, really there!

So we went to the doctor again and eveything is going great. I have now gained 8 pounds and I still feel pretty good.

That was until this weekend. I know I go overboard and do not rest enough but jeez. I still want to be a little normal. We ll the boys are kicking my butt right now and I am having a hard time. I am swelling pretty good now. And I cannot hardley sleep anymore. My poor puppy has not been on a true walk in well over a week and I am ALWAYS exhausted. I ache and I hurt and I hate getting up when I am down and down when I am up. Oh man!!!

August 15th, 2008

So we had our 24 week check up today and another ultrasound. The boys are great! Both are in breech position right now. Baby A - Tatum weighs in at 1 lb. 10 oz. and Baby B- Wyatt weighs 1 lb. 9 oz.!!!! They are really doing great. I have gained 14 pounds total now. I will post pictures later today!!!

My how the summer has flown by. School starts here today and both of my children are now going to school. Blake is going to 3rd grade and Gabby starts Kindergarten! I just had to share them with you all!

So, Yet another boring doctors appointment today. I had another gluecose tolerance test done today. My doctor is concerned about my blood pressure though. I have not started dumping any protien in my urine yet like I did with my son. So we now have to go in every week so she can check it and my urine. We are going on a week by week basis for bed rest and the birth of the babies. So anytime between now and 10 more weeks we could have babies!!!

I am finishing the nursery this weekend and Daddy is remodeling the bathroom for me so we will have everything done before they get here!!!

September 12, 2008

So not much is new, we had another doctors appointment today and ultrasound. They were running behind so we did not get alot of time to see the boys but any glimps is better than none! Baby A had a HR of 161 and weighs in at 2 lbs.9oz. Baby B had a HR of 158 and weighs in at 2lbs.10oz.

My cervix is still holding out even though my blood pressure is not. They have increased my Procardia as much as they can and now have added Aldomet two times daily as well. We have started our non stress tests and this will continue every week.

Went to the doctor yet again! That seems to be all I do anymore! But the boys are good. I lost 2 more pounds and she was okay with it for now, so all is well. My BP is still climbing though. No protien in the urine so at least that is positive.

We are now on bed rest and out of work. I know it is for the best just a little overwhelming with all that still has to be done though!

I feel awful. I do not know that awful is even an acurate word. I had diahrea, I was flushed, I had had a headache for 5 days, I could hardley breathe, nor walk nor sit nor sleep and to top it off my heart was racing! I went to the doctor and sure enough my blood pressure had sky rocketed. I was dumping protien in my urine and therefore admitted to the hospital!

So I went in got fluids, rest and tons of tests. I enjoyed the rest and quiet for at least that day and being able to listen to the boys was nice too!

However while I am at home I am on strict bedrest and a strict medication schedule. 6am-10am-2pm-6pm-10pm WOW I have never had so much medicine to take!

We are 31 weeks and the doctor is hopeful we will get at least 3 more in but hopefully 4-5. We are having contractions every day but they are still small and irregular. So boys....hold on we have to behave!

October 3rd, 2008

Today we went for an NST and Tatum (Baby A) decided to be an acrobat and lay on his cord. His Heart rate went down under 100 bpm and stayed there for around 20 seconds. So they wisk me off to ultrasound. It was nice to see them and all of our fears were relieved. He was fine and still has a good fluid level. Little daredevils already!!

So then we had our regular doctor visit and yes I was dreading the scale. 5 pounds in 1 week. Darn bedrest.......hubby was exstatic ..me not so. But I will just have to live with it for now. We are totalling 20 pounds gained for now and only have 4 weeks left before my doctor wants them out!!!

October 10th, 2008

Another doctor visit today. Our NST went well and both babies cooperated well. Our doctor visit was good. No more proteins, gained 2.5 pounds and we were told any time after 2 weeks we would be good for delivery. The ultrasound was great! Both babies are actively breathing and growing! Tatum BA weighs 4lbs.2oz Wyatt BB weighs 4lbs.5oz. Woohoo we are so close!!!!!

October 31st- So we had another ultrasound and the doctor has moved our due date nack a week. The boys are good just not growing like she would like anymore. So one more week and they will be coming via c-section. We are scheduled for November 7th at 6am!!!! I am so excited yet scared to death. But I cannot wait to meet these little fellas.
