Monday, 6 October Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com
Hi there,
I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.
We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.
If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.
You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Wednesday, 2 July Hi,
Congratulations on your pregnany!
It sounds like you have had a tough time with the sickness also. I have been on anti sickness since week 10 'Cyclzine'
I was taking it 3 times aday but now only twice aday. I came of them around week 14 to see if the sickness had calmed down or had even stopped, started to throw up everything including water and ended up in hospital on a drip. I am feeling better now and starting to enjoy my pregnancy more, still on the anti sickness and i travel around with a bowl but i've learned to just deal with it.
Try ice lollies and cold foods rather than hot, i found this helped.
Take Care and hope to hear that your feeling better soon. lovelylindy -

Wednesday, 25 June My sister had a baby 2 years ago and we took birthing classes together. It all went out the window when it came time to put it to use! She didn't use any of the breathing techniques or anything!! I am 16 weeks today and I really want to take the classes again. I would like to think that I would use some of the techniques but since I am a first timer I'm not sure how realistic it is. The classes are fun and informative though!

Wednesday, 25 June I was unable to take the birthing classes because I worked, while in labour with my first the nurse said to breath like they taught in class, I told her I didn't take the classes so she took time to go over some things with me. I would have felt better if I was prepaired. And it is a good thing for your partner/coach to see to help them prepair, my husband is a farmer so I wasn't too worried about him lol.
I also had the epidural but you still need to know stuff. Good luck, even if you don't go it is pretty natural, and he or she is coming out. Its more for your own peace of mind.

Wednesday, 25 June Hey!! I am more than likely going to get an epidural BUT i am also going to take a birthing class also.. My sister's labor moved so fast that she couldnt have an epidural so the birthing classes she took really paid off.... I hope this was helpful and good luck with your pregnancy mariettap -
Wednesday, 25 June I know, it's not fair. I think my sickness did stop completely around 20 wks, but then I just couldn't eat much anyway--all kinds of aversions to foods I usually love, plus heartburn. I'd fill up after just one bite and have a big plate of food sitting in front of me, the smells bugging me until the table was cleared. That lasted the whole time. Not a pretty picture! But we're all different, and indeed it's different for me this time. I know someone else who was hospital-sick up till 16 wks, then fine and eating like a horse the rest of the way. Only time will tell this story for you and baby. I promise, you won't regret a minute of it. I promise. OK, ginger: Whole Foods stores. Trader Joes--I don't shop there, but their crystallized ginger "bakers cut" was the best I have found. If you don't have those stores, go to whatever natural foods store you have and ask for it. It's usually where the nuts and dried fruits are. Go today. Get yourself some relief. Taste: I'm not a big fan, honestly, but I'd put it in my mouth, chew fast, swallow, and in a few sec I'd start feeling better. I mean, many things could make me throw up, but I never threw up just trying to get the ginger down. I had it in my purse with me everywhere I went for months. You can also find ginger herbal tea bags and make a tea. It might even be easier to find. But then you have to taste that ginger (it's not bad, but it is strong) through a whole CUP! Some people love it. I *did* like it when I chopped it pretty fine and put it in muffin batter and baked with it. The muffins were yummy, and the ginger tasted fine in them. mariettap -
Friday, 13 June No panicking allowed! :) My midwife told me first fetal movements are typically felt between 16-20 weeks. The internet is a very broad, and so it catches all kinds. haleyd226 -
Friday, 13 June I was reading your post about feeling the baby...I wonder about some of the people that say they felt him/her that early. I'm an average size person and I really felt him at 19 weeks. My husbands uncle is a high risk ob and he said you shouldn't feel them before 18. Hope this comforts you a little. tiffluvsandy -
Friday, 13 June just reading your question. yes i still battle the morning sickness as well. it's gotten to be much milder and i throw up far less, but it's not completely forgotten. Some women are sick through the whole pregnancy. let's hope that is not us. i also have to eat all the time to keep the nausea at bay. good luck. mariettap -
Thursday, 12 June Hi, and congratulations! I saw your post in week 14. I'm sorry to hear that you're still feeling sick. I had that experience with my daughter (6 now). It was very hard, b/c you get a mix of cant-eat-anything and oh-so-starving and somehow the two blend together. I was very weak during that time, b/c I really did need more nutrition, but the good thing is that somehow the baby takes what it needs from the mother anyhow and turns out fine. Have you tried ginger yet? Seriously, I walked around with a little baggy of crystallized ginger root until week 20. I'd just chew some up and then feel better within a minute or so. Worth looking into. I'm not making it up either. I found it on my midwife's pregnancy instructions. It works if you get a stomach bug too. Let me know if you want tips on where to buy it.
