~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey everyone! My name is Cristin and I'm a first time mommy. I have a fabulous boyfriend who already has 2 girls. I found out I was pregnant right after Thanksgiving 2007 and as of today, Feb. 7th, 2008, I'm 15.4 days pregnant.
I had some crazy bleeding for 3 weeks after I found out about the baby, but nothing since, thank God! My pregnancy so far has been blissful in my opinion. I'm terrified of child birth though. I'm having trouble understanding why pregnancy is so easy compared to my menstral cycles, lol. Anyway, I am looking forward to meeting other mommy's and sharing our stories.
I have also created a baby blog outside of this site. Check it out!
I agree with you on the smoking topic. I'm not a smoker myself, but I know that it is probably the hardest thing to quit. You are making a huge effort by cutting down, and that's what matters. Don't let anyone's sh** talk upset you. They aren't YOU and they don't know the half of it.
Congrats on your baby boy :) Best wishes!
babylove723 - Tuesday, 20 May
Thanks for the info. It is good to know that I am not alone. Looks like I will have to just deal with it for a few more months, but in the end, it will all be worth it!
Congrats on your boy...you look so cute! I'm glad somebody else is getting the heartburn-a-rama as I am...its killer! Milk has worked well for me too...enjoy the rest of week 29!
BABYFOUNTAIN - Wednesday, 14 May
i know what you mean about the sensitive skin! i have some bumps down there that kinda hurt. i don't have a solution, i'm just glad i'm not the only one!! congrats on your baby boy!!
debora - Tuesday, 13 May
Just look at that bump! You are getting there.
Congratulations, Debora !
ohmama - Monday, 12 May
That sounds good. I think that if you are propped up, there is no harm. I do the same thing when I am reading or watching television. You can't give up everything, ya know? Happy Belated Mommy's Day!
MommaD - Monday, 12 May
It also depends on your doctor. I know several friends that go to different doctors that get an ultrasound at every visit. My doctor gives one. I really see no need in having any more. My baby's anatomy was perfect, and she's moving like she should. I'm definelty gaining weight! I read somewhere that it's not necessary to have your cervix measured unless you are planning to have labor induced. Im not complaining there, I don't want to sit in the stirrups unless absolutley necessary!
I do get my urine, weight, and blood pressure checked at every visit.
carolynjh - Sunday, 11 May
No more ultrasounds is very common, in a normal pregnancy at my practice, you only get 2. And the cervical check is to make sure they don't set you off into preterm labor, checking ur cervix is a little risky. They will check it though if you have a problem, same with u/s. However, it is really strange that they aren't checking your urine anymore since spilling proteins in urine is a sign of preeclampsia and usually they do that every checkup??? Ask about it next time, maybe they just think you have a perfect healthy pregnancy :)
cosmomama - Sunday, 11 May
Prenatal check ups are not great at all. I was also told that I get no more ultrasounds, so I have no idea how they can tell how big the baby is and if he is breech or not. I did get my cervix xheck at my 28 wk checkup, and my urine checked. I think they will continue that, unsure though. you have a right to get the treatment you want. find another dovtor if you are unsure or ask another doctor how it works to see.
MommaD - Sunday, 11 May
I only get 1 ultrasound done too. I've only had my cervix checked once only at my request b/c I was having alot of pressure. If you're not having any complications, everything is probably fine. It would be nice to have some reassurance though!
kassiesheeley - Sunday, 11 May
yeah that happens my bf does the same thing their is even times i almost end up on the floor lol good luck
PeytonsMommy22 - Friday, 9 May
I'm glad i'm not alone. My sister said it was too early for these movements but apparently not. It's so funny to watch my tummy move wherever he is moving. Congrats and Good Luck to you too! =)
kassiesheeley - Friday, 9 May
hey im having the same problem with the whole sleep thing well i talked to my mom about it and she said that happened to her to and after she had my brother those were the hours he woke her up at night so yeah good luck and congrats on your little boy
chiquita79 - Thursday, 8 May
I too am having the worst time sleeping. I can fall asleep, but staying asleep, forget about it! Its so frustrating. I just wish I could get at least 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep. This has been happening to me for the last week. Have you found anything to help?
J-Motts - Thursday, 8 May
I'm with you on the sleep thing.....Between the pregnancy and stress from work, there are nights I'm lucky to get 2 hours. And, of course, you wake to flip over or go to the bathroom......I have not slept a full night in months. Get ready, girl.....this is only the start! I'm sure things will eventually get back into a nice routine, but until then, I know I need to learn how to nap!
ohmama - Thursday, 8 May
Hi there, congrats and you look wonderful! We are both having little boys. So, the sleeping thing. Well, I too, cannot stay asleep more than 3 hours, it is exhausting. I know I am supposed to sleep on my left side, but for HOW long??? I need to flip. I know the right side is not the desirable side, but how is a mommy supposed to rest? I think we should make the best of it because it doesn't get better from here. The pillows between the knees absolutely help, but I feel you. I know what you are going through. Hang in there...
reesie - Thursday, 8 May
Check this one out. I found out that I'm an anemic, which explains why I'm having problems keeping my eyes open, but I'm having problems sleeping as well. What a combo. Didn't think that was a possible. I sleep really hard for about 2 hrs and then I'm tossing and turning trying to find a comfortable position. If not that, I'm running back and forth to the bathroom. Last night wasn't so bad, it was every 2 hrs..night before, it was every hr. During the day, I'm running to the bathroom every 30 to 45 mns. One top of anemia, I may have gestational diabetes. I failed the first test and now I have to do the 3 hr test. Which would explain the frequent visits to the bathroom. I keep telling myself, "it's almost over and the best is yet to come." I work at a high school, image the lack of sleep and dealing with a bunch of teenagers. Not just that, having 2 at home myself.
mjeans - Saturday, 3 May
Cristin...you look great! keep smiling...michelle
MyLilAidan - Tuesday, 29 April
you are having more heartburn now because everthing in your body including your stomache is being pushed up and cramped. Causes some acid reflux. it suck i know, i used to weak up with it so bad and tums dont help. When you get it, just sit up as straight as you can to try and relieve it.
faithmarie - Monday, 28 April
Yes, I would admit that things are a bit lacking currently in the intimacy department. Even though I'm not sick or anything, I just feel unattractive, gassy, constipated, etc. So much for everything I have read about uncontrollable appetite during pregnancy! I think even though he won't admit it, that my hubby is kind of weirded out by being intimate while our baby is right there :)
babino2 - Saturday, 26 April
thank you so much for the response i guess its just nerve racking
