Baby King is here:)

May 15th, 8:46pm

6 pounds, 6 ounces!

This pregnancy was INCREDIBLY tough...but my precious baby is worth every second of hell that I went through. I love him more than I could ever put into words. My life is so much beautiful now that he is in this world!

(I had HG during my pregnancy BADLY. If any of you pregnant women have it and need someone to talk to...I'm here!)

IT'S A BOY!!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

"To those of you who are scared they wont be good at or ready to be a mother, I found this story online....We are sitting at lunch one day when my daughter casually mentions that she and her husband are thinking of starting a family. 'We're taking a survey,' she says half-joking. 'Do you think I should have a baby?' 'It will change your life,' I say, carefully keeping my tone neutral. 'I know,' she says, 'no more sleeping in on weekends, no more spontaneous vacations.'
But that is not what I meant at all. I look at my daughter, trying to decide what to tell her.

I want her to know what she will never learn in childbirth classes. I want to tell her that the physical wounds of child bearing will heal, but becoming a mother will leave her with an emotional wound so raw that she will forever be vulnerable. I consider warning her that she will never again read a newspaper without asking, 'What if that had been MY child?' That every plane crash, every house fire will haunt her. That when she sees pictures of starving children, she will wonder if anything could be worse than watching your child die.

I look at her carefully manicured nails and stylish suit and think that no matter how sophisticated she is, becoming a mother will reduce her to the primitive level of a bear protecting her cub. That an urgent call of 'Mom!' will cause her to drop a soufflé; or her best crystal without a moment's hesitation.

I feel that I should warn her that no matter how many years she has invested in her career, she will be professionally derailed by motherhood. She might arrange for child-care, but one day she will be going into an important business meeting and she will think of her baby's sweet smell. She will have to use every ounce of discipline to keep from running home, just to make sure her baby is all right. I want my daughter to know that every day decisions will no longer be routine. That a five year old boy's desire to go to the men's room rather than the women's at McDonald's will become a major dilemma. That right there, in the midst of clattering trays and screaming children, issues of independence and gender identity will be weighed against the prospect that a child molester may be lurking in that rest-room.

However decisive she may be at the office, she will second-guess herself constantly as a mother. Looking at my attractive daughter, I want to assure her that eventually she will shed the pounds of pregnancy, but she will never feel the same about herself. That her life, now so important, will be of less value to her once she has a child. That she would give it up in a moment to save her offspring, but will also begin to hope for more years, not to accomplish her own dreams, but to watch her child accomplish theirs.

I want her to know that a Cesarean scar or shiny stretch marks will become badges of honor. My daughter's relationship with her husband will change, but not in the way she thinks. I wish she could understand how much more you can love a man who is careful to powder the baby or who never hesitates to play with his child. I think she should know that she will fall in love with him again for reasons she would now find very unromantic. I wish my daughter could sense the bond she will feel with women throughout history who have tried to stop war, prejudice and drunk driving. I hope she will understand why I can think rationally about most issues, but become temporarily insane when I discuss the threat of nuclear war to my children's future.

I want to describe to my daughter the exhilaration of seeing your child learn to ride a bike. I want to capture for her the belly laugh of a baby who is touching the soft fur of a dog or cat for the first time. I want her to taste the joy that is so real it actually hurts. My daughter's quizzical look makes me realize that tears have formed in my eyes.

'You'll never regret it,' I finally say. Then I reached across the table, squeezed my daughter's hand and offered a silent prayer for her, and for me, and for all the mere mortal women who stumble their way into this most wonderful of callings. This blessed gift from God... TO BE A MOTHER"

I know, Father's Day was wonderful. Ethan took Scott to an outdoor restaurant on the intracoastal, but he slept the whole time. He also got Scott a card. :) It was great to hear everyone wish my husband a happy father's day! He was so proud!

The ped appt went great. Ethan is up to 10 lbs, 2 oz and is now in 1 diapers, no more newborn! He is growing up so fast! I'm so in love with him, it is the best!

He is up to 5 oz every 4 hours. He'll sleep about 3 hours at night, just between feedings. Can't complain. Next week we hit the 6 week mark when there is supposed to be some changes, so we'll see. We try not to ever have him awake more than 2 hours at a time, that's what our sleep book says.

I have a friend who had her son on Sunday and another who had her daughter yesterday. I'm going to the hospital tonight to see her. I'm so excited I have friends now going through this. How about you? Do you have a lot of family around? Are you alone with Johnny now? How are you doing?

Hope you're having a great day!

Hey! Good news on Target's return policy!!

As of yesterday, Target changed their policy on registry returns!!

If an item was bought off your gift registry and you do not have the receipt, you now can return the item for store credit.

What you do is, go to the store, go the the registry kiosk and print your registry list under purchased log and bring that list to the return counter with the item.

http://www.target.com/b/ref=br_bx_1/602-9023102-8683836?ie=UTF8&node=13685491

Registrants may use their Gift Purchase Log to return an item if they do not have a receipt. The returned item(s) must be listed on the Gift Purchase Log. The first two return transactions using the Gift Purchase Log have no limit; any remaining return transactions will be capped at a cumulative value of $150 for all Gift Purchase Log return transactions. Please see a Guest Services Team Member for more information about how to return an item using your Gift Purchase Log.

All I wanted since I have been on this site is to click on the "click here if you are no longer pregnant" site. (I think that's what it said.) Anyway, I have tried so many times, but the site doesn't allow it. I think it hates Mac's. It never let me update my profile, it only allows me to load pics and comment on people's profiles. At least I know next time, i can click on that link whenever I have the urge, 8 weeks pregnant, or right after labor, and it doesn't do a darn thing. Booo

Wow, never heard of anyone breaking their butt during labor, that's impressive, good work! Yeah, i can see that being just about as sexy as me putting my hand over my vagina every time my stitches hurt, lol. I'm like Michael Jackson, but I really mean, Owww!

So, we finally bought a swing for Sawyer and I'm soo happy we did. We were trying to keep the "toys" down cause we don't have much room for storage, but geeze this swing was sooo worth it! It's just the centerpiece of our living room now. Oh well!

I have heard of the hole, but don't think I have been there. We should totally go sometime. Let's see if our hubbies are free and then try to plan something!

prego1018 - Monday, 16 June
So, you never told me how you broke your tailbone!

Didn't bbq, but went to a place called The Keg, which sounds like a bar, but it was a really good steak house! i got Geoff a card as well, and a few belts, cause he broke his last one that morning. We kept yesterday pretty simple.

I have 2 hands back, woo-hoo! Man, Sawyer has been keeping us up lately. He just really likes to be up during the night, and he is not a fan of the dark if he's awake. He likes to see what is going on, so it's a recipe for us being up. Guess that's what being a new parent is sometimes about!

Maybe we can do something this weekend?

prego1018 - Monday, 16 June
Yesterday was good, he went jeeping in the morning and later that night we had some yummy steak at a great restaurant. How about you guys? What did you do? Still slow at typing with one hand, lol. Let's try Thursday or Friday, thoughts? Good work on the driving! I drove on Sat, but my stitches hurt later. :(

jenlove - Monday, 16 June
Glad to hear you are out walking. And the pounds are shedding off... you go girl! I know, I can't wait to get back into shape. Lately my hips have been killing me, like they did when I was pregnant. I'm hoping it is that they are shifting back, if that makes sense. I mean if they hurt going out, why wouldn't they hurt on the way back in? But I've never heard of that. Oh well. What really matters is I tried on some pre-preg dresses, a pair of pants, capris and jeans, and they all fit! Well, by fit I mean buttoned and zipped. I wouldn't wear the jeans, pants or capris yet, I've still got some belly and they are not flattering But they fit, only a month out! I'm so happy!

Today is a good day. It is the first day I am alone with Ethan, Scott is back at work and all the family left. So this is how its going to be. I'm trying to get on a routine schedule. We go to the Ped this afternoon, so I'm curious to see what he weighs now.

How is Johnny doing? How is he sleeping? How was Fathers Day? How are you? Hope you're having a great day!

pinkribbonmom - Monday, 16 June
Did you guys have a good Fathers Day?? It sounded like you had a nice day planned! I am sure it was special being John's first one!

How are you feeling now that you're back on your medications?? When do you see the ortho doctor this week?

I always feel like I have a million things to talk to you about too! We really do need to just get together. Is there a particular day that would work best for you??

I need to call the Motherhood store and see if they can hold that swimsuit again...either until I can get down there to see you AND get the suit or maybe if you can pick it up and I can pay you back when we CAN arrange a day together! I hate to buy one with only a few weeks left but it would be nice to take the girls to the pool. But, I keep thinking about all the things I still need to do around here and I don't know how I'm gonna even have time to go to the pool! Whether I get the suit or not, I am definitely coming to see you and SOON!

I would love to see your store! And I'm sure the girls would too! Gosh, between little Johnny, your dogs and the store, they'll be super excited!

I am going to look at that Nikon camera that is similar to April's but much cheaper. If I don't get it before little dude comes, I at least have a digital one that I can use. I just want to replace it at some point. I seem to be more worried about who will take pics of the baby right away than I am of being alone for delivering him! That seems kinda dorky, huh?

It's funny that we both call the boys "little dude". And your favorite dog. LOL! I do think I've narrowed names down a little bit more. Still trying to decide what to do about the last name issue. (In case I haven't mentioned it or you haven't noticed, I have issues with making decisions. LOL!) Oh, and I keep forgetting to tell you why Ashley doesn't like the name Parker. As a Nuggets fan, I am sure you will find it funny. She said it reminds her of Tony Parker and she HATES the Spurs. LOL!

As for the shower, I totally appreciate you offering to have it down there!! And, I would love to, but I think the distance and the price of gas would probably keep a lot of people from coming. (Not that I have a lot of people I would even invite, but you know what I mean.)

Jay will probably get his card today. The girls called him yesterday to say Happy Fathers Day but he didn't answer. Ashley left a message but he never called back. He may be out of town anyway because she sent him a picture of her new haircut too and he never responded to that either. I guess if he doesn't call today or tomorrow, I'm going to have to call him again anyway because I have to get the hospital paperwork turned in and I need to know what he wants me to do. If he doesn't answer, then I am just going to leave it blank.

I have been trying to decide on a sling/wrap/pouch for the baby. There are so many of them it's hard to know what to get. And of course, the ones I like, all seem to be around $80 and I would sure hate to spend that and end up not liking it. But I found these ones called Sleepy Wraps and they are only $34 and seem to be exactly what I am looking for! And they are based in Boulder. Anyway, they are pretty cool and for that price, I am totally going to order one. I also was planning on probably buying that Chicco travel system that you have but after that issue with the carseat that I told you about, they pulled them ALL off the shelves at the stores and online so you can't buy them right now!! I have no idea when they are going to put them back so I guess I may have to look at some different ones. (I need to go to Babies R us when I'm down there too since we don't have one.)

I have to run Ashley to volleyball camp. I'll be on again later. Hope you have a good Monday! :)

MariaC - Monday, 16 June
I'm getting in my 12's!! The big 12's!! That is my size 14 12's!! lol, if you know what I mean??!!! (I think that's a 10 or 8 to you though)

I'm cheating though I only put on about 20lb this pregnancy, although I put on more than double that last time!!! Rest assured though it did come off easily!! xXx

i know my Mom was smiling down that we took her! so i'm really glad we went!

pinkribbonmom - Saturday, 14 June
Wow...sounds like you had quite the appointment. You poor girl! I am glad you have such an AWESOME doctors office though! It sounds like they are just great! I am glad they put you back on some pain meds! And hopefully you will listen and be a good patient this time. LOL! :) Did they say anything about the milk production breastfeeding stuff you were wondering about? I'm glad you got some sleep last night and that Johnny is feeling better today!

Sorry about the text from earlier...who knows what happened with that! I was just checking to see how you and Johnny were feeling today. And to see if you had gone to the doctor or at least talked to them. Hopefully the drive wasn't too painful!! Between your tailbone and your boobs though, I'm guessing it wasn't too pleasant being stuck in traffic. Oh, and I also said that the girls had found a card for Jay and I was debating if I should just write a note in theirs or get him one. (I had found one that I kind of liked but with his explosive personality and the fact that I don't know if he's told Joey yet or not and Joey is probably there this weekend, I just opted to write in the one the girls got him.)

Don't even worry about the camera! Thanks for letting me know!! It is pricey. And I think I want a small one that I can keep in my purse. I have been looking at a few and I really like a Nikon one so at least I know they make GOOD digital cameras! April got a new Nikon one for her birthday but it's pretty pricey too. The one I like is on one of those Ashton Kutcher commercials and it has the same specs as April's but is like $170 CHEAPER. Anyway, unless the court makes Ben start paying soon, I'm probably not gonna get a new one before little dude is born anyway.

OH, that bouncer seat John got sounds like a great deal! I really want to check out that consignment store! It sounds awesome! (I think you said it is called Merry-Go-Round or something, right?)

I don't know if those compression socks or comfortable or not. I don't want to spend $35 to find out. LOL!! They are super UGLY though! LOL! I actually think it did help a little bit wearing my tennis shoes instead of Crocs or flip flops. My feet weren't swollen when I woke up this AM. They usually just get progressively worse as the day wears on.

I actually can't believe I'm this far!! I think that's why I'm feeling so stressed. I have so much to do still and I need to just DO it. But I'm so tired too that half the time I opt for a nap or I'm running the girls around or something and nothing gets done. I'm just gonna have to make myself get it done. I don't have a whole lot of time. I really don't think this baby will come in August...I bet it will be sometime in July.

The Vacation Bible School that the girls were at was only for this week. They are bummed that it is over because they had a blast!! Ashley has sport camps the next 2 weeks...just 2 hours in the mornings though.

I still haven't decided on a name for sure. I mostly just call him little dude.

Oh, and I did find a Motherhood that has that swimsuit...the one at Southwest Plaza! They said they will hold it until Sunday night. But I may see if they will do it another day or 2 so we can get together!

Okay, so that was about a novel. I hope you get some sleep tonight!! :)

Love ya!
Jennifer

Do you have any fun plans for Fathers Day????
