Hi All!!

My name is Megan. I'm expecting my first in July. It came as quite a shock and is still something i'm a bit overwhelmed about BUT the excitement is winning over anything else. I know it's early but i'm already picking names and talking about decorating nurseries. My biggest fear (of course) is m/c so i'm holding my breath for 12 weeks!!

So here`s my first exciting update.... I`m now getting used to the fact that i`m going to be doing all this as a single mom. Having heard Baby Bump's heart beat for the first time this morning (156BPM) It made me realize it `s the first of many things that Gavin is going to miss out on. It was such a high hearing that beat! I still can`t wipe the grin off my face>

So today was the first Ultrasound!! It was sooo amazing!! Now I have ANOTHER SURPRISE!! (as if there are not enough so far) I am 2 weeks MORE pregnant!! So instead of being due on July 27th i'm due on July 13th!! I'm looking forward to meeting baby bump 2 weeks sooner and not being super pregnant during the super heat of the summer!! Apparently everything looks good and he's super super active!! Wouldn't sit still at all during the exam!! I'll get photos up soon....Looks like I watch too much CSI as baby is face down in the uterus right at the bottom with arms and legs "tied" behind back. Too FUNNY!!!

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

Ok, so again i've been very bad at keeping up my blog regularly (but i'm new to this stuff so bear with me). I had another PreNatal exam last Friday (during a very bad snowstorm - so getting there was an adventure). Both baby and I are doing well. Blood pressure is great and I have only gained 6lbs since conceiving. My doctor was frowning, but I think this is good no? Baby's heartbeat is at 144 BPM. I'm still really really wishing for a boy but at least I have a girl's name now!! Cole John for a boy and Reese Elenor for a girl. The sperm donor has officially been cut out of my life. He did not give any support and all he would do is disrespect me and be completely inconsiderate and was just a complete negative drain on everything because all he thinks about is himself. Since cutting him out over a week ago life has been fantastic!! I'm getting amazing support from friends and from my family and everything is working out! I am sooo happy now and really excited about the pregnancy and the birth!! I get to find out the sex of my baby on February 20th (as long as he/she cooperates with the U/S) I can't wait!!!

February 22nd, 2008

So yup!! It's a boy!! Cole John!! (My father is already calling him CJ!!) He may also grow up to be an exhibitionist LOL!! It was the first thing the Ultrasound Technician saw on her screen and all lil Cole keep doing was spreading his legs and showing her again. I'm guessing that my stern talking to him the night before had him wanting to make sure Mommy got her question answered! I'm sooo happy that my feeling was accurate. I have already been going a little crazy with the purchases. It's unbelievable....and so real now....I can't wait to meet my little man (and put him in the little outfits i've been getting)!!!!

Friday, March 7th, 2008

It's been awhile since I've had an update here (i'm so not born to be a blogger) but I thought since today I got the labour prediction done I could post that.

Madame Zaritska, our resident clairvoyant, wants to help you prepare for the arrival of your child. Here she does her best to predict certain aspects of your labor and birth experience.

What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be windy. Your baby will arrive in wee hours of the morning .

After a labor lasting approximately 17 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 13 ounces, and will be 19-1/2 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and a lot of hair.

So I don't know how excited I am about the 17 hours part...but the blue eyes?? Definitely!! I know it's all a game but she got the boy part right anyways.... =0) Life has been going well. I think i've settled on how i'm going to be decorating the nursery. I wanted something that even when Cole was a toddler it wasn't too baby-ish as i'm really not into all the cheesy baby stuff. The main colour on the walls will be a Creme Chocolate, Dark Mohagany Furniture and Splash of Polka Dot colour in Peacock Blue, Emerald Green and Sunkist Orange. I'm excited as the wall colour goes on tomorrow!! Cole himself is doing well. Seems to like mostly orange food (Cheezwhiz, Cheddar, Macaroni & Cheese, Cantaloupe, Peaches, Oranges, Orange Punch, C-Plus Orange.) I'm surprised my skin doesn't have an orange hue!! He's a very active boy now but is nice enough to still let me get a full night of sleep. (I think we sleep at the same time!) My doctor was concerned with me gaining 18lbs so far so I have upped my walking and am now doing light 8lbs weight lifting for my arms. I figure getting them all toned up will not only help prepare me for lugging around baby stuff but also burn some calories!! Okay...now time to get back to work and stop this novel!! I hope everyone is doing well!!

PRETTIEST MOM
Once you have been hit, you have to hit 5 pretty Moms.
If you get hit again, You will know you are REALLY pretty!
So hit 15 pretty moms on your friends list to let them know they are
pretty!
Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her
down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop
the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important
and happy.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to
make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the
wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.
Send this to someone who you think is a special Mom.''

Meg, thank you for your mail and the snuggles. It has been tough but feeling good at the moment and at peace with myself. I have so not carried on the argument with my mum or her side as life is too short and do not need to go to Wales so they can get lost.

WOW 32 weeks I can't believe it, and I am happy things are well minus the scare but baby is entitled to a little pre scare before the birth lol. Movements now well they are not movements they are full blown karate kicks and hong kong phewy punches to the point you think they are going to break out of your tummy, like aliens but enjoy it you soon forget it.

I am looking forward to finding out what we are having on the 29th hopefully not camera shy lol. I am going on holiday for 2 weeks next weekend and am going to do the kids bedrooms when we get back and sort out their wardrobes and sort out baby's room, I am so looking forward to it. It is amazing using the stuff and he will be here soon don't you worry about that lol.

I am so happy your move went well and you are happy and settled and can't wait to see some pictures when you have got some time.

A natural birth to me sounds great, I had pethadine with my first followed by gas and air and my baby (now 10) didn't cry much at all, as I think the pethadine kicked in to baby too lol. Second one I only had time for gas and air 1 hour later she popped out and fed on me for one hour solid bless her lol.

My business will hopefully get started all in good time we can't afford it at the moment and getting a loan or anything is too tight at the moment but hey all in good time. I will keep you posted. Have a good weekend and keep me posted. Any braxton hicks yet? love you like a sis take it easy and kisses all round and big hugs xoxoxoxoxoxox

I know what you mean. I can barely walk anymore!! LOL. I walk up the steps and am out of breathe. At least your nursery is almost done. We haven't even started yet because we are waiting to get the stimulus check from the IRS =[ So hopefully it should take too long after that!!
Hope all is well!! We don't have to much longer now!

Hi Megan! Wow, sounds like you had a great retail therapy session! :) Did you go to outlet malls? My BF has been talking about going to the US for a shopping spree (for himself...) but the only time we did that it was in NH, about 7 hours drive away so I am not so keen on going back there, as nice as it was (we were there for a romantic get away, a couple of days after I found out I was pregnant!)

I looked at your maternity shots and they look really nice! I found out last week that my pregnant body repulses my BF to some degree so I know he wouldn't be too keen on immortalizing it on film....Lovely isn't it? Talk about making me feel like crap...

The week end and the shower went really well, was more of a family get together really. But when there is 8 couples and over 15 kids, it makes for a very lively time! We were all pooped by the time it was over. I had several nice gifts but we did fill the car to the brim with hand me down stuff, including the crib and change table and a LOT of clothes 0-6 months. And there is tons left behind that will have to wait until someone comes down and visits. It all in the garage now and not set up in the room yet but just knowing its there feels great! Maybe we'll get around to setting it up over the next few...weeks! We were lucky traffic-wise but it is even more "painful" than usual being in the car for that long when pregnant...And you'll get a kick out of this: my BF's parents still insisted we sleep in seperate bedrooms as we are not married!

I still have to get a diaper bag myself...And there is still loads I need! I started making a list of things I need to do before baby gets here and I think I'll have to take one day off a week to maybe be able to do it all...Hearing all the americans on this site, I'll thank my lucky star for being Canadian and having the opportunity to do it and still have my 1 year mat leave! My heart goes out to all these poor moms who have to go back to work 4-6 weeks after their baby is born. How insane is that!

I am planning to go cisit my mom the weekend of the 31 and I think I'll take the opportunity to have a good heart to heart with her about the visiting and step-mother thing...I'll keep you posted on how it goes! My MIL said they were absolutely going to come down once I have the baby (though not while I am in the hospital) and although I like them well enough and might appreciate the advice of a mother of 5 and grandmother of 15, I know it will completely stress me out to have them in the house. And as they are coming from so far away, it is not like I can tell them to keep it short! I warned my BF that he will have to make sure to be off work when they come. At least I don't have to worry about coordinating with anyone else as they have not met my family! :)

Well it is almost the week end again...We have another busy one coming but I think I'll at least get a chance to rest a little this time...We have friends coming in from BC for the marathon and we are planning a BBQ to gather all our friends on Sunday. Should be a blast!

Well have a great one! I have to wean myself off this site a little as one of my replacement has started and don't get time to surf anymore...

Cheers!
