Hi All!!

My name is Megan. I'm expecting my first in July. It came as quite a shock and is still something i'm a bit overwhelmed about BUT the excitement is winning over anything else. I know it's early but i'm already picking names and talking about decorating nurseries. My biggest fear (of course) is m/c so i'm holding my breath for 12 weeks!!

So here`s my first exciting update.... I`m now getting used to the fact that i`m going to be doing all this as a single mom. Having heard Baby Bump's heart beat for the first time this morning (156BPM) It made me realize it `s the first of many things that Gavin is going to miss out on. It was such a high hearing that beat! I still can`t wipe the grin off my face>

January 17th, 2008

So today was the first Ultrasound!! It was sooo amazing!! Now I have ANOTHER SURPRISE!! (as if there are not enough so far) I am 2 weeks MORE pregnant!! So instead of being due on July 27th i'm due on July 13th!! I'm looking forward to meeting baby bump 2 weeks sooner and not being super pregnant during the super heat of the summer!! Apparently everything looks good and he's super super active!! Wouldn't sit still at all during the exam!! I'll get photos up soon....Looks like I watch too much CSI as baby is face down in the uterus right at the bottom with arms and legs "tied" behind back. Too FUNNY!!!

Ok, so again i've been very bad at keeping up my blog regularly (but i'm new to this stuff so bear with me). I had another PreNatal exam last Friday (during a very bad snowstorm - so getting there was an adventure). Both baby and I are doing well. Blood pressure is great and I have only gained 6lbs since conceiving. My doctor was frowning, but I think this is good no? Baby's heartbeat is at 144 BPM. I'm still really really wishing for a boy but at least I have a girl's name now!! Cole John for a boy and Reese Elenor for a girl. The sperm donor has officially been cut out of my life. He did not give any support and all he would do is disrespect me and be completely inconsiderate and was just a complete negative drain on everything because all he thinks about is himself. Since cutting him out over a week ago life has been fantastic!! I'm getting amazing support from friends and from my family and everything is working out! I am sooo happy now and really excited about the pregnancy and the birth!! I get to find out the sex of my baby on February 20th (as long as he/she cooperates with the U/S) I can't wait!!!

So yup!! It's a boy!! Cole John!! (My father is already calling him CJ!!) He may also grow up to be an exhibitionist LOL!! It was the first thing the Ultrasound Technician saw on her screen and all lil Cole keep doing was spreading his legs and showing her again. I'm guessing that my stern talking to him the night before had him wanting to make sure Mommy got her question answered! I'm sooo happy that my feeling was accurate. I have already been going a little crazy with the purchases. It's unbelievable....and so real now....I can't wait to meet my little man (and put him in the little outfits i've been getting)!!!!

It's been awhile since I've had an update here (i'm so not born to be a blogger) but I thought since today I got the labour prediction done I could post that.

Madame Zaritska, our resident clairvoyant, wants to help you prepare for the arrival of your child. Here she does her best to predict certain aspects of your labor and birth experience.

What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be windy. Your baby will arrive in wee hours of the morning .

After a labor lasting approximately 17 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 13 ounces, and will be 19-1/2 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and a lot of hair.

So I don't know how excited I am about the 17 hours part...but the blue eyes?? Definitely!! I know it's all a game but she got the boy part right anyways.... =0) Life has been going well. I think i've settled on how i'm going to be decorating the nursery. I wanted something that even when Cole was a toddler it wasn't too baby-ish as i'm really not into all the cheesy baby stuff. The main colour on the walls will be a Creme Chocolate, Dark Mohagany Furniture and Splash of Polka Dot colour in Peacock Blue, Emerald Green and Sunkist Orange. I'm excited as the wall colour goes on tomorrow!! Cole himself is doing well. Seems to like mostly orange food (Cheezwhiz, Cheddar, Macaroni & Cheese, Cantaloupe, Peaches, Oranges, Orange Punch, C-Plus Orange.) I'm surprised my skin doesn't have an orange hue!! He's a very active boy now but is nice enough to still let me get a full night of sleep. (I think we sleep at the same time!) My doctor was concerned with me gaining 18lbs so far so I have upped my walking and am now doing light 8lbs weight lifting for my arms. I figure getting them all toned up will not only help prepare me for lugging around baby stuff but also burn some calories!! Okay...now time to get back to work and stop this novel!! I hope everyone is doing well!!

I had my scan today

everything is perfect, we found out we are having a BOY! I was in shock as I convinced myself we were having a girl and it is all new to me, I am sure the shock has passed and am so looking forward to finding a name.

hey girl, how are you doing these days? thought i would check in and see how you are feeling....
As for me, I had some major contraction all night Monday- called Dr at 1130- he said if they got painful to call back, and to come into the office for my appt early in the am instead of waiting - i did and as it turned out al was doing much better actually! BP was down, still swollen some, but urine even looked a little better, and he checked my cervix which was totally closed and thick as he said, looking good, so those BH contractions were being pesky, he sent me home with a script for Procardia which my insurance doesnt cover and damn they are a lot of $$- they are supposed to help BP and control the contractions... Still on semi-bedrest though and no heat, etc etc.. But better I am relieved. Little man is getting so big though in the belly- its very uncomfortable and I cant figure out why I have had a cold for like 2 weeks! I took antibiotics the first week bc they thought it was a sinus infection, but without any colored stuff comin outta me, Dr said there was no reason to finish them now... Just treat symptoms.. Long wait, and I dont know how in heavens name I am gonna make it atleast 4 more weeks!! Then there is this whole L and D thing scarin the heck outta me. I will be glad when it's over for sure.. I am doing the epidural; and hoping for the best..

I'm doing okay... I'm really bored of being pregnant... isn't that crazy? It's taking forever! I feel like I"ve always been pregnant and I am always going to be pregnant. My tolerance for stupid people is at an all time low... I swear I'm going to lose my job when I lose it totally one day soon. All moved in?

First off, I have the SAME insecurities. My shower will be about 20 people which is a lot for me! I fear that no one will show up. The reason it bothers me so much is that the women who have planned it have put soo much thought and work into it. I feel bad for them!! Oh pregnancy hormones. I am afraid of returning stuff too, even though people probably wouldn't even realize. In the end they want to give you something you will use a lot and really like. I don't know what I will do, we will have to wait and see. I hope you're not getting sick. I have been lucky (knock on wood) and not gotten sick with even a slight cold this whole pregnancy. I understand why you would worry though. It's one thing to get sick when it's just you but it's a lot more scary and emotional when you are carrying a child. I would try the resting thing first!! You could be downright exhausted. It is amazing how crappy you can feel when you are exhausted. Either way, I hope you are ok! My day is good.. I went to Dunkin Donuts this morning! YUM. I got a compliment on my "I'm not fat, I'm knocked up" shirt. I got it when I was a few months pregnant and just looked pudgy. I think the world can tell now! I put together a highchair last night. It was so fun getting a present in the mail! I am so used to bills or junk mail. Nothing exciting. It was like christmas. I couldn't help but put it together even though I won't need it for awhile! It is out behind our kitchen/dining table. I am just getting so excited though. I am looking forward to shopping after the shower too. It will be fun to go out and spend the money we have set aside (gifts & saved) We never get to go shopping and if we do we are so worried about what we spend. I can't wait to hear about your shower too.

Hi there! Lucky you 13 days...I'm trying to stick it out until July 4. It's been pretty exhausting lately especially that my bf and I are not working the same hours which brings me to work 1 hour early and 1/2 hour later than what I'm actually scheduled for. So by the time I get home, make supper and do dishes I'm just too tired for anything else. Somehow I did find the time to start washing clothes and blankets and have the main stuff ready to go (except diapers).

I had the best baby shower ever, everyone was in a really good mood (my grandmother was there and she does have the gift to irk others at times) we laughed so much and it was just really nice to be a bunch of girls together! I got lots of things: diaper bag, baby monitor, change pad for the dresser top, soother thermometer, blanket, hand-made quilt (grandmother), snugli, bouncy chair and some other little stuff. The travel system was my mom's gift and she lives on the west coast, but I picked out the Safety 1st Evolution Travel System. Three inflatable wheels and sporty...it was my favorite one even though it was almost 400$. When my mom went online to order it, it was on sale for 299!!! I love a good bargain! Now I just have to clean the car (again) before I get my bf to install the car seat base.

I'm sure you'll have a blast at your shower and you'll feel like things are getting more together...well at least that's how I felt!

Well I'm definately starting to feel pretty huge. Mostly just awkward weight. It's not as easy I as thought walking around at this stage with pressure on the pelvis and bladder!

I feel the same about pregnancy, I have been VERY lucky. A lot of women on these forums have had lots of issues that I have not. I feel lucky to just have back pain. It was a given with the condition of my back! Other than that I have told my doctor I have had a wonderful pregnancy. I am glad to hear that you have been feeling pretty well too! I am soo addicted to Jon & Kate plus 8!! Ever since I got pregnant. I had never even seen it before I was pregnant. Now I have seen them all, multiple times. It is a guilty pleasure. It makes me feel so much better though. If she can do it with 8, 1 is no big deal at all!! I am definitely going to use the grandparent card as much as possible, and they will be more than happy to abide! So I found out that a gift someone bought off my registry(it got delivered today) never came off. She kept checking and it never said it was bought even though she took the steps to buy off of my page. I hope I don't get a lot of repeat gifts on Saturday.

OMG, I must have made my BF sound like such a jerk...I was just venting. Really what he said was that he also had to get used to my new body...In the moment (and day following) I just blew it out of proportion. I think he realised that he had not expressed himself properly and he has made a point ever since (and without me saying anything) to pass little comments here and there about how good I look, how a pregant belly has such a pleasing shape etc...AND he has also made a point of being more tender everyday (without the expectation of sex). I don't want to rub it in so I won't go on and on about it but let's just say that women react differently to sex in pregnancy and for me, I have just lost all interest...Bottom line is we are just readjusting, but that is something in the cards for all of us in the comming months so bring it on!

And my in-laws are funny, they are just so old fashioned. Complete opposite of my family. But they are not holding back in accepting me or including me lovingly in their family and I always feel welcomed when I go there so really, I couldn't (or shouldn't) ask for more. And time will tell but mmy MIL made a point of saying she was there for me, whatever I needed and left it at that, saying everyone is different and want different things. If she sticks to what she preaches, shouldn't be too bad. But I still don't want to entertain (no even my own family) after I give birth ;)

The weather was perfect indeed for a BBQ and our friends gave us a few great hand me downs and a gift card to shopping mall that has everything! It was a great day to run but a bad run for all of our friends...It happens.

Well, I guess I also have to get back to work! Take care!
