What are the odds of being pregnant again with my second set of twins?! I was definately shocked.I found out I was pregnant on Dec. 27th, 2007. The positive sign showed up as soon as I urinated on the stick. And it was bright and clear and left no room for doubt. That should've been a sign since I was only 2 days late. I found out on Jan. 21, 2008 that I was 8 weeks pregnant with twins through an ultrasound because I went to the hospital for vaginal bleeding. Being a victim of two miscarriages, I was obviously worried. When the technician told me, I almost fell off the table.And the even funnier part is that I conceived on my second daughter's birthday-December 9th. Which I already knew. My mom just laughed. She kept telling me it was twins, because I was "showing" at 4 weeks and she had a feeling:) I was in tears from fear,shock, and amazement. Their little heartbeats were beating so strong. I still have my moments where I stare at myself in the mirror in disbelief. God definately has a plan. So my husband and are excited and can't wait to welcome 8 & 9 into our family. We'll find out what they are Apr.7th. CAN'T WAIT!!

April 7th, 2008- I am sooo upset. I did not get to have my U/S today as planned. Everything that could go wrong went wrong today. By the time I got there, I had to reschedule. Not to mention that the place I have to go to is not even in Dover and I had to hold my bladder the whole way there. Now it will be on the 23rd. I'll keep everyone posted.

April 23rd, 2008-I had my U/S today. It was so beautiful. Once again I am having a girl and a boy. They are healthy and have everything-10 toes, 10 fingers, etc. I've never seen my children 3D except for with my oldest daughter. It's something to see with twins. They were fighting each other and then snuggled. It was too cute:) It really put me at ease. I knew they were o.k. because there was always a heartbeat at my dr. visits, but there's something about actually "seeing" it for yourself. I thought it was a one time deal, but they informed me that I have to go back once a month until I have Jelani Zamir (boy) and Jael Chalice (girl). So until then...

May 21st, 2008-I had my second U/S today. Jelani and Jael are still doing great. They're both head down now (which explains the constant pain in my ribs:) ) Jelani is basically laying overtop of Jael. How they do it I will never know. I still get amazed at the small things. It's funny. Like I've never been through it before. The babies now weigh 1lb 10oz (Jael) and 1lb 15oz (Jelani). Three weeks ago they only weighed 1lb (Jael) and 15oz (Jelani). I'm going to be so huge! Which according to the doctors and the books, an abundance of weight lessens the chance of preterm labor and increases the chance of healthier babies. Exactly what I want :) Going back in June. So...

June 4th,2008- Well, I'm 27.6 weeks along and I'm still pregnant. Things are definately looking good. My babies are gaining weight like they're suppose to and so am I. I'm not used to carrying all this weight. I've gained 3 lbs in 2 weeks. I feel as though I'm gonna hit that 200lbs mark real soon. I still have 2 months to go. But they say weight is good so I gotta think positive in those terms. But my frame is so small (5'0") I feel every bit of this weight. Can't complain though. I prayed daily for decent weight gain for the babies and I. The Lord definately answers prayers:) Found out I was anemic today. So now I'm on iron pills, but it could be worse. I get my Rhogam shot next week and my U/S the following week and then a dr. appt the next day. Busy busy month. Keep us in your prayers!!

June 19th,2008-Today I am 29.7 weeks pg. I had my U/S yesterday. The babies have flipped again. Now they are both head up, feet down. The doctors are positive that they will turn. They say I still have time for them to get situated. I'm praying daily that they'll be head down again by my next U/S July 16th and stay there, because I do not want a C-section and the doctors don't want to really perform one on me being as though I've never had one with any of my other pregnancies. So I've been praying against all negativity that may come my way and keeping only the positive in my mind. I'm getting excited because I only have 72 days left. Not very long, but long enough when you're uncomfortable. I've made it pass my milestone of 28 weeks so everybody is feeling very hopeful. Now I need to make it pass 35 weeks(this is when I had my first set of twins). Taking it one day at a time. So far Jael weighs 2lbs 11oz and Jelani weighs 2lbs 15oz. They'll definately be good size babies by the end. I'm still going to the doctor's every two weeks and U/S once a month. All that changes starting July 2nd. After that I'll have doctor appts. and biophysical U/S every week, plus monitoring every week. Will still have to travel once a month for head to toe U/S until I have the babies. But I believe that August will be my last head to toe U/S. I'm due August 31st and really don't see myself going pass that date-not with twins anyway.

July 21,2008- O.k. had my routine weekly BioPhys U/S today. Babies look lovely. Fluid is good, breathing, movement, flexion,heartbeats, all that is good. Unfortunately, the babies are still breeched. Now instead of being head to head at the top of my stomach, Jelani(boy) is feet down and Jael(girl) is now sideways AGAIN. We've already come to the conclusion that Baby Boy is just not gonna move. He's pretty much gonna stay that way until delivery. But Baby Girl is so unpredictable. She's running this show that's for sure. She has to be next to her brother. I get another BioPhys next Monday and I'm just dying to see what position she will be in. She can't stay still. Hopefully she'll go head down and stay there. That would be so nice:) But twins are never easy. I go see the doctor on Friday and I'm getting my Beta Strep done and getting checked for dilation. I don't feel like there's been anything going on, but I guess she wants to be sure. My mom told me to just ask if they'll schedule me for C-section instead of taking the chance of me going into labor and the babies being breeched anyway. Being as though I'm petrified of c-sections, this will be hard for me to do. I've never had one done, not even with my first set. But I guess it's something that will need to be done since that's the only way I'm gonna get my tubes tied :) We'll see. I'll keep everyone posted. So until Friday...

July 26,2008- So I had my weekly doctor appt. yesterday. I had my NST done and my Beta Strep test done-which always comes back positive. Then I was checked for dilation. I really thought that I wouldn't be dilated but I am. I'm only 1cm, but being pregnant with twins, that's a lot. And I still have at least 2-3 weeks to go. I know for a fact that I won't make it to the end of August when I'm actually due. Had to go to the hospital afterwards 'cause BP was high. It was 140/90 and my BP usually only runs around 110/70. Of course, once I get there and I get hooked up to the monitors and get my blood drawn (which I hate) my BP is running normal again. I was having major contractions. My mom and the nurse were like "can you feel those?" I'm like "yeah." They were off the chart and getting stronger. I told the nurse that I needed to go home because there was something in the hospital that was making contract like that. It was almost like the babies knew I was in the hospital:-) Good news is the nurse only reported my BPs and the doc let me go home. Once I was home they stopped. Well, spaced out more anyway. I go for my weekly U/S Monday. We'll see how that goes. As usual, I'll keep everyone posted.
