So today was the BIG day!!! We went for the ultrasound!!!! He was so active. I really didn't think I was feeling him move before, and on the U/S screen he was kicking like crazy. He must have known that I really needed to pee because he kept kicking my bladder. It was really cute too, he had his head up high, and we could see him laying his head near my pulse. I have a feeling that once he is here, he will love laying on my chest hearing my heart beat. Oh my husband and I are so excited!!!! It was sooooooo cool to be able to see him, moving around, kicking and of course being a boy... hahaha.. playin with his little thang... haha.. sorry, but he was, it was pretty funny to see. He measured at 14 oz. which I thought that sounded like alot, but we do have tall people in my family, so it doesn't surprise me. My belly measured 21 weeks and i've gained almost 26lbs so far. I really need to slow down. My doctor said that it was fine that I've gained that much so far because i started out so small, and hadn't gained much weight in the beginning. Well we are very excited to be having a baby boy!!! Best of luck to all you mommy to be's out there.

I have been around newborns quite a bit with my nieces and nephews and just want to say, "dont worry", your mommy instincts will kick in and it will be so great! The unknown is always kinda scary but give yourself the gift of trusting yourself. You are so capable and dont even know it yet. I haven't had a baby before and am so in disbeleif that it is really going to happen but I know inside that I am going to do great and love her so much. It is just so hard to imagine a child I haven't yet met and so hard to believe that she is going to be all mine....mind blower!

michellelaughs - Tuesday, 15 July
Have you been around newborns much?

CanadianNat - Monday, 14 July

i tried milk, but for some reason milk has not been agreeing with my stomache lately. which is weird, i have always been a choc milk drinker. It finally went away after the third tums, thank god. How is everything going for you and the baby?

Proud2baMommy - Friday, 11 July
Ummmm, Ya the first like... 2 days is really bad, Not as bad as that very first day when your at the hospital with your new baby. I forget exactly how long I bled for but Im thinking around 2 weeks? Trust me your gonna wanna take advantage of those nasty pads at the hospital lol

Lol. I saw that you wrote about "Belly Laughs." She really does say it all. I love that book. You should try "Knocked Up: a hip mother to be" it's really an easy read, and cute too.

About the group B testing..I had mine done at 35 wks no big deal at all...my doctor did not swab the back end, only the front and it was less evasive than having a pap done...Hope this helps...and CONGRATS!!

bambina2come - Tuesday, 8 July
tiffjoy said it perfectly, but if anyone tells you it's uncomfortable it wasn't for me. It was so quick I didn't even feel it. My Dr. also said that 35% of women have it, and is commen.

tiffjoy - Tuesday, 8 July
The group B test consists of a swap/culture from inside your vagina to the outside of your rectum. It is a natural flora bacteria that our bodies produce, however if present can be harmful to our babies during delivery. They do the test at 35-37wks. If you test positive you will receive antibiotics during labor. Many women have it, so no worries, it is normal. Best wishes during your pregnancy!!!

Hey I noticed your post about once upon a child. I am not sure where your located but see if you have a store called kid to kid near. Same idea as ouac but in my opinion ususally cheaper!

Sarah-Ashley - Monday, 7 July

Dont worry my husband and I redid my sons room at the first of my pregnancy. The most danger comes from sanding the dry wall and inhailing the dust. But I looked up the MSDS which you can do on line and most of the substances are only known to cause defects in rats in the state of california in extreem and i mean extreem doses. The little you get from a remodle is not going to do anything. I freaked at first and then realized it wasnt that big of deal. I hope you dont worry about it anymore. I hate stuff that makes you worry.

KIRSTIE - Tuesday, 1 July
dang really?? do they hurt?

haleyd226 - Saturday, 28 June
I was just thinking it was me too. I don't have any other complaints...just the hands. I think mine hurt worse when I'm sleeping than when I'm awake. I normally drink a lot of water. But with it as hot as it is, it still may not be enough. Who knows?!? I was starting to think if this is what arthritis feels like, I never want it!!! Well, if you find out anything from your doctor let me know what the outcome is.

haleyd226 - Saturday, 28 June
I'm from week 27 and my hands ache!! My joints feel tight and when I'm sleeping they feel swollen and hard to bend. My right wrist has been hurting as well, but I was just thinking it was from having surgery 7 years ago....lol.

sweetmommy2be - Tuesday, 24 June
I've heard Parents Choice from Wal-Mart leaks bad. My friend had a baby last year and thinking she could save money by buying those ... she really didn't. She couldn't return them after they were opened and 1 being used. I don't know maybe it was just that diaper. Be careful though. ... Also the wipes gave my nephew a horrible rash. But maybe it was just his skin. I don't ... i am not going to buy them though! That's for sure. Good luck and Congrates!

Ediesmommy - Monday, 23 June
Same here girl. I just started the discomfort in closing my hands in the morning and slight pain in walking. It goes away as the day progresses but it's remains odd still the same. I swell only if I am up on my feet too long in the heat, but it's not severe by any means. Hope this helps you feel better that you are not alone! PREGGERS POWER!

zavana - Friday, 13 June
 Your belly is so cute...

ams2777 - Thursday, 12 June
I have been having the same issue. My hands and arms fall asleep all the time. My hips and knees hurt at night. I was going to ask the doc about it on Mon at my next appt. I love to sleep with my right hand under my face and head but it falls asleep within minutes. Just another lovely pregnant experience I guess.
