Hello everyone, my name is Crystal and I am 22 weeks and 3 days pregnant with a baby girl. This is my first pregnancy so Im really excited and nervous all at the same time. My husband and I were just recently married in November of 2007. I found out that we were expecting one month later. I guess with all of the excitement with the wedding, I didnt pay much attention to anything else. However, I became sick immediately after the wedding. Being from a very religious background, I was really nervous and scared to tell my mom that I was pregnant. In fact I didnt tell her until I was 41/2 months pregnant b/c she kept questioning me. Anyway, Im glad I got that off my chest and she didnt take it as bad as I thought. She was a bit upset though that we didnt wait until after we were married to conceive. Anyway, my younger sister is ecstatic and has been planning for the little one since the day I told her. I mean literally. Well Im new to the site and cant wait to meet people experiencing the same changes that Im going through!! Its hard to explain these things to my hubby!!

Monday, February 18

I'm not sure if its just me or not but lately I've been very very thirsty. Its like I cant get enough to drink. This is odd since I used to never drink alot of liquids. Anyone else experiencing this??

Tuesday, February 19

I'm not feeling too hot today. I have a terrible headache and it feels like Chloe is turning in my stomach. I've been pretty nauseaus all day. Not a good feeling. I'm so ready to go home and lie down. Last night my husband was pretty frustrated with my sleeping pattern. I couldnt get comfortable at all in bed. Any suggestions on getting comfortable?? A co-worker of mine told me to try placing a pillow underneath my stomach and between my legs. Im going to definitely try that tonite. Any other suggestions??

Wednesday, February 20

I am soooo happy!! I slept great last night. I listened to my co-worker and placed pillows under my stomach and between my legs while I slept and that was the best sleep ever!! It felt like I was floating. I only woke up once during the night and that was to use the bathroom of course. Thanks Angela!!

Monday, February 25

Okay, so Friday I decided to go to a concert to see Lil Wayne. I dressed up really cute and found some really cute heels to wear. Bad mistake. We ended up having to park really really far aware from the Cajundome where the concert was being held, and I forgot to bring my slippers!! Well needless to say by the end of the night my legs were aching!! I fell asleep around 2:30 a.m. and woke up about 4 a.m. damn near in tears!! I had Charlie horses in both my legs!! talk about painful!!! I've vowed never to wear heels for such a long period in time again. I used to be able to do this with no problem!!

Tuesday, February 26

This weekend too, we began painting our new house that we are moving in this week!! Im sooo excited. We paited Chloe's room lavender and my two bathrooms we painted them a neutral color called Cottonwood which is like a beige. Chloe's room is gorgeous!! Now we just need to get her furniture!!

Thursday, March 6

Okay, so today I went in to take my glucose test. Needless to say, the drink wasnt too tastey. And it seems like I was extra hungry just because I knew I couldnt eat. That's sad. I had the fruit punch flavor and it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. The aggravating part was probably just sitting there waiting for an hour! I sure hope I pass this test because I definitely dont want to have to go throught that for three hours!! Wish me luck!! We've finished moving this weekend and are pretty much unpacked. I absolutely love my house!! It's an older house but with all kinds of space for storage and a huge living area. We still have a few things to do with the house but all in all I love it. However, I often hear a few strange noises from time to time, but I've been told that its normal. Our puppy Sam has all kinds of cool places to hide in this house. And it takes forever for me to find her little butt!! Now my husband wants a German Shepard..Oh, Lordy!! I'm really trying to talk him out of that!! We have our hands full with Sam already!! Oh, and also, my hubby finally was able to feel Chloe move last night! He was like what the heck is she doing in there!!! LOL.! I was so happy he could feel her moving finally.

Monday, March 10

I'm so excited!! This weekend my mom purchased Chloe's changing table and armoire and my aunt purchased her crib. My mother in law is "supposed" to by the bedding but we'll have to wait to see that. Anyway, I set up the changing station last night and its soooooooo cute!! I will work on the armoire tonite and probably for the next couple of nights since I have to work during the week. My aunt has my crib so hopefully I can get it from her this weekend and work on that. My husband asked if I needed his help but he's the type that doesnt read directions, just automatically assumes he knows how to put it together..so I didnt want to take the chance so I set it up myself. Not difficult at all!! I also purchased her wooden letters that spell out her name so I will try to paint those today.

Tuesday, March 11

Well today is my husband's 28th birthday and we are planning to go to the Casino on Friday to celebrate. He works until sometimes 9 or 9:30 at night so it's hard for us to do things in the evening time. Last night I started putting together Chloe's armoire. I did that until about 10:00 last night. I finally fell off to sleep about 11:00 and was awaken by my puppy crying. She never cries once we put her in her kennel to fall asleep. So at about 4:30 my husband and I checked on her and she stopped crying for a few minutes but then began to cry again. I let her go outside and watched her and she had diarrhea. She then went back into her kennel and slept through the night till about 9:00 a.m. She is usually up about 7 a.m. Poor baby. She's sick so I'll have to take her to the vet. She is really like a little baby. Our first child is Sam (Samantha). Then once I got back in bed, Chloe started to kick my really hard. I couldnt fall back to sleep until about 6:00 a.m. Needless to say I was late for work. I guess I better get used to this!

Friday, March 14

Okay, so the past two days were pretty bad..really bad tooth infection..kept me out of work for two days. I did go to my doctor's office yesterday and guess what? I flunked the 1hr. glucose test. My doctor said it was bordeline high so he wants me to go back and take the 3 hour test just to make sure I dont have it. He said he thinks I will pass it but wants to be on the safe side..oh brother. I hated taking the 1hour test. In other news, my puppy Sam is doing okay. Also, I finished Chloe's Armoire last night and put her blankets and clothes in it. It's soo cute.

Thursday, April 3

I haven't updated in awhile so this is what's been going on. My nephew had an All-Star party on Saturday that was absolutely amazing. Whe had a fun jump, a boxing ring, flag football, a dunk tank, basketball setup and a football setup. The kids even had 2 pinatas. We had pizza and hotdogs..lots of candy...and a delicious cake. I mean, it looked like a carnival! He had a blast!! The boys wore NFL Jerseys and the girls wore cheerleading outfits! We had 2 of my friends dressed as referees and my husband and I wore Red Team captain T- Shirts with our names on them and my cousin and his girlfriend wore Blue Team captain T-Shirts. It was amazing. The kids were amazed. Right after the party though, I became sick with allergies. My mom was hospitalized for Pneumonia and my older sister was also sick with allergies. My husband and a friend of mine broke out with little red bumps on their face. The pollen count was really high that day and I believe we had an allergic reaction to it. Well Im still recovering now but doing alot better! My husband decided to take on the task of trying to assemble my baby's crib. Bad mistake. I assembled both her armoire and changing table with no problem. However, my husband tightens every screw soooo tight that if he makes a mistake, we cant get the screw untightened. And thats what happened. The screw ended up stripping and we wer unable to unscrew it. Needless to say, I was very frustrated with him. Even though I know he was only trying to help. He started this project while I was asleep. Well, I ended up getting it unscrewed, after a couple of days of it just sitting in the middle of the floor, and finished the bed last night. Its soo cute. Now all I need is her bedding that her grandma is "supposed" to be purchasing since like 2 weeks ago. I have put her border up in her room and her light switch. I still have quite a bit to do but things are going pretty good so far.

Wednesday, April 16

Okay, so I havent updated in awhile so here's the haps. I finally got Chloe's bedding. Of course, no help from MIL. I had to get it though. I dont like to ask people for anything and she's been promising for months now to get it and she hasnt so I bought it. I went to a baby shower with her and a cousin-in-law, and the gift she gave was horrendous!! And this was for her neice!! She didnt even wrap it. She took wrapping paper and put it around the gift (the paper didnt fit) and stuck a bow on top of that!!! I couldnt beleive it. She had to hold it a certain kind of way or everything would have fallen out. I could only imagine what she plans on giving me. But I will definitely not worry about it because Chloe will definitely get everything she needs and more. With or without the help of her and her family. They feel that my family can afford to get her whatever she needs and therefore they dont do anything. It was the same exact thing for our wedding. She did nothing at all. Oh, I forgot, she gave $200 towards my pictures and THEN had the audacity to want copies. She also wanted everyone in her family to wear a corsage. Like all her brothers and sisters..none of them once asked if they could help. I told her no, and she made corsages herself for them. Oh, and another thing. She tried to talk me out of having a shower!! Now, originally, I didnt want a shower. But all of my friends are saying that since this is my first baby, I should have one. My MIL said "oh, you got everything you need, you dont need a shower". The reason she is saying that is because she hasnt bought anything for my baby and probably wants to buy something cheap from Goodwill or something but she doesnt want anybody to see it. I know how she is. She did the same thing for my bridal shower. Her gift probably totalled $15. My aunts have done more for the baby than she did. My aunts bought her crib and one bought her armoire! But that's a whole different story. I dont have enough time in the day to type all that shyt.lol. Anyway, I have her bedding all done and now I will just complete her room with adding a small table and lamp, a bookshelf and a rocker. Hope I have enough room for all of that..We'll see!! I finally did my 3-hour glucose test on Monday. This is really a 5 hour test, b/c that's how long I stayed. I got there at 7:30 thinking I will be out for 11:00. Not likely. I stayed until 12:30!!! Then I had another apointment at 12:45!! I was sooo hungry I was almost sick. Hopefully everything goes well with this test. My next appointment is Monday, April 21st to measure the baby. I cant wait to see how fat she is. Lol.. Well thats all for now!!

Hi, I think your feeling is nothing unusual. Just kind of reality check after long ride on a pink cloud. Babies bring lots of changes and it is not all joy, but also lots of sacrifice. Most of sacrifice will be made by you, not husband or family. It is also fear of unknown. Your mind tries so hard to cover this reality and make you feel constantly happy about having baby. But sometimes you just plain afraid and unhapy about whole deal. Don't worry. When baby arrives, you'll love her and be a good mother.

Hi,Try not to worry about your test, because I did the same thing and I passed my 3 hour test with flying colors. In the beginning of my pregnancy I drank alot of 100% juices and the doc said they are REALLY HIGH in sugar.I thought there was no hope for me.Hint: you will have to fast before the 3 hour test, but don't any junk.Try to eat little carbs if possible.I'm sure you're fine.Good luck.and keep me posted.

HELLO GIRL,
How doing congrtas on your pregnancy.

landofsandandsun - Friday, 14 Mar
I also had a borderline high glucose test with my 1st pregnancy. I was sent to see a dietician and was put on a strict diet. I stuck to it and never needed insulin. Basically you just have to control your sugar and fat intake, it wasn't horrible. Good luck!

Hoping4babygirl - Friday, 14 Mar
I flunked my Glucose test as well. I am pretty nervous. I have to go back in and do the 3 hour test. I will let you know what they say.

Hi, congrats to your little Chloe. My friend just had a her baby and she named it Chole. I love that name. My husband and I decided on Ryleigh Brooke. I know what you mean about how you didn't want to tell your mom. My husband and I got married on Nov 24, 07 and we found out 2 monthes before the wedding that I was pregnant. I am from a very religious background also so I wasnt to sure how my mom would take it, but to my suprise she was so excited.

emma1ee - Saturday, 8 Mar
hey! congrats to you too!! My first choice in a name was Chloe lol, but my fiance said absolutely not :( But we've finally agreed on ellyana. We're not sure if we are going to spell it Eliana, Elyana, or Ellyana yet! Does Chloe have a middle name? I wanted my little girls to be Chloe Mae

I know what you mean about hoping the doctor doesnt deliver then say it's a boy! My friend at school was supposed to have a boy and she had hundreds of dollars worth of clothes for 'him' and when they delivered it was a girl so I'm scared of it too expecially since they told me what I was having at 17 weeks but she said she was sure so hopefully she got it right and hopefully your doctor got it right too!

kitchensca - Friday, 7 Mar

See I wanted a girl but found iut that I'm having a boy. So now I'm all into the little boy mind set. I'd be uupset it my little bit ended up a girl now. But by the ultrasound pictures... he's a boy!! I have a boy (8), girl (4) and this litte man. Either way I'll be happy cause it took alot to get this little one but I'm telling you when you see her little face for the first time... boy or girl it's not going to matter!! It's love at first sight! After this I'm done!!

mommi2b - Tuesday, 4 Mar
OMG that's too funny - same exact thing here! I was crushed when I found out we weren't having a boy, but now I'm so happy and set on our baby girl!...and I keep thinking what if she's actually a boy?...I'm so set on this baby girl now! But I'll be thrilled no matter what now....I just can't wait to be a mommy!

Hey, I read your post about heart burn and wanted to tell you that heartburn and dizziness were the 2 first symptoms I had before I found out I was pregnant. The heartburn just helped to exaccerabate my morning sickness. If you don't have it yet, you're LUCKY! But I think what they say is that it usually starts in the second and third trimesters when the baby is pushing your stomach and everything up and the stomach acids go into the esophagus. Hope that helps :)

preggers31 - Tuesday, 26 Feb
Hey Ms. Crystal - Heartburn started for me at around week 14, and still going strong. You'll find certain foods bring it on, or laying in certain positions. Not all heartburn medicine is ok during pregnancy (pepto-bismol is a no-no) but Tums are fine to take. If you get heartburn really bad, your doctor can prescribe something stronger. Drink lots of water too! Makes all the difference! :) Best of luck!

sashloha - Tuesday, 26 Feb
Hi, I was 'dropping' by to say hello and hope all is well with you. I hope the weather is good to you. I saw your comment about being thirsty, I drink like 4 1/2 liter of water everyday. I barely drink water before I became pregnant and now it's like I am a fish out of water, lol.

c.-peacock - Saturday, 23 Feb
it's so funny you say that. we wanted a little boy first, but wants it came down to it we were so excited to have our little girl. to me i think it was easier having a little girl first since well i am a female...lol. we know what we need and what we want, and you just feel more comfortable. now we're excited and ready for our little boy. it's going to be different but i can't wait to hold him. good luck with your pregnancy.
