Hello Ladies!

My pregnancy with Lukey was pretty straight forward, no morning sickness, no cravings, etc. However, I went into labour at 32 weeks and dialated 2cms. The contractions then stopped and they sent me home and put me on bedrest.
Lukey then decided he would wait until 40 weeks and 3 days before he made an appearance, on Friday 13th of all days (despite me insisting I would keep my legs crossed that day!)
My labour was pretty fast for a first-timer - only 6 hours! When I arrived at the hospital I was already fully dialated, although my waters hadn't broke, and didn't break until I started pushing. Lukey was born after about an hour of pushing weighing 7lbs 15oz.

My 2nd pregnancy was completely different. I had morning sickness for probably the first 5 months and felt constantly completely drained and did not look 'blooming', just grey faced and knackered! Then when I reached 6 months I managed to regain some energy and colour in my cheeks finally! I suffered with sciatica in my right leg and in my back, and as my pregancy progressed I just seemed to constantly ache in my stomach and back!
I started having contractions again at 34 weeks, but I didn't go to hospital this time as after about 4 hours they subsided and I just couldn't bring myself to go into hospital and be told to go on bedrest again! As I had an office job it is not to straining on my body so I was hoping to work as long as possible!

My 2nd labour story!
At 7.30am on Saturday 2nd Feb I went downstairs to put the telly on for Lukey and covered him over with a blanket, our usual morning routine. Just as I waddled into the kitchen to get him a drink I felt a triclke of moisture run down my leg. I wasn't sure if it was my waters breaking or not, as when my waters broke last time they popped and gushed! So, I went upstairs and put a sanitary towel in my knickers and after a few minutes noticed the liquid was a pinky colour, so I phoned the oncall midwife, who reassured me that it was completely normal and that I would probably soon go into labour.
I phoned DH and he came home from work (milking the cows) and he arranged for his mum to pick up Lukey so we could make our way to the hospital, as I was beginning to have mild contractions. I hopped in the bath at 8.00 am but when I came to get out at 8.20am I realy didn't want to, the pain was starting to get bad!

After much persusion from DH I got out the bath and hobbled into the bedroom, where he tried his best to dress me as I was not being very cooperative. I really did not want to make the 40 minute journey to the hospital. Eventually we got into the car and were on our way, by which time I was in so much pain and was dreading the thought of battling with the traffic of Saturday morning shoppers!
After ten minutes on the road I insisted that DH phoned an ambulance as I really wasn't comfortable and didn't think we had time to get to hospital.

The ambulance arrived at 9.02am. At 9.11am I could not contain the urge to push, and against the advice of the terrified paramedic (who had never delivered a baby before) my body just took over and pushed out our little Bean! Quite a shocker!

I am sorry to report that I did not have any help going into labour in the end - I have no idea why my waters broke!
Good luck to all those still desperately trying to bring on their labours!!! I know I would be if I were still pregnant now!
Warmest wishes to all you pregnant ladies out there, and all those tryin to conceive, feel free to ask me any questions on pregnancy, labour and boys! I am no expert though - just love being a mummy!

I spoke to the health visitor about Bean's head today. His has a flat side on his head where he always sleeps on the same side! She says she could not guarantee that it would corret itself, but that you don't often see people walking around with flat heads and lots of babies have this cos their skulls are so soft! If anyone else has any experience or advice on this I would be most grateful! xXx
I have been researching the condition on the internet and the correct name is plagiocephaly or flat head syndrome
I have bought a special mattress from this website www.sleepcurve.com and I am hoping it will help to correct the problem.
If anyone is experiencing or has experienced the same symptoms with their baby I would love to hear from them.
I took Bean to the Doctor today because he had a sticky eye. Whilst I was there I again mentioned his 'flat head'! The doctor took a look and said that although it is a very common thing, especially since 'back to sleep' has been recommended, Bean's head did seem to be very flat and he is going to refer him to a paediatritian.
