MY PREGNANCY DIARY

As I've had 3 previous m/c The Hospital arranged for tests to be done all came back clear no reason why I keep m/c? My consultant advised me to contact the E.P.U for a scan when I became pregnant again, not giving up hope we thought we'd wait 6 months to let my body get back to normal again.

After 7 months since last m/c I thought I had all the signs: boobs getting bigger, lots of trips to the toilet, fancied tomatoes??? Did a pregnancy test and up came 2 blue lines. Wayhey!

5.5 weeks Scan. Sac there and signs of embryo. We're so happy, although really nervous!

Things not looking too good lots of brown discharge everytime I wipe. Contacted E.P.U.

7.3 weeks Hubby and I convinced I'd lost the baby. The same signs as previous m/c. We went in expecting the worst, Radiographer asked if I still felt pregnant, I said no but felt dizzy at times... Got on the bed totoally disheartened and a huge smile came across the radiographers face, "I can see a heartbeat." I just couldn't stop crying, looked at hubby who was totally shell shocked! I felt like running down the corridor shouting I'm still pregnant!

8 weeks Midwife came out today still got brown d/c on wiping she told me something may have dislodged during scan.

9.3 weeks Discharge still not settled every other day getting d/c. Had lots of yellow/brown d/c pains in legs and slight pulling pains in stomach today really fed up.

9.4 weeks Contacted E.P.U Midwife lovely going for a scan Fri. Midwife said pains in legs could be a good sign as uterus expands it puts more pressure on top of legs. Don't know what to think now. Just wish I could stop worrying.

10 weeks -19 Oct. Went for scan today, I had the first apt at 8.40 It was really cold and icy I slipped on the pathway - not a good start to the day. I was so scared I had lost the baby. I had a different sonographer vary matron like! She showed no expression and told me I had to wait while she did measurements, it felt like ages in the end I asked if everything was ok? FINE. I was so relieved but I think the sonographer got out of bed the wrong side! It had it's back to us and was wriggling away, we could see it's tiny arms and legs - so cute! She said I was measuring 10 weeks and 2 days so that takes it to the 14th. She said not to worry any more some women have discharge upto 20 weeks! Fingers still crossed, don't think I'll stop worrying until it's born!

11 weeks - 27 Oct We went to see the midwife at the hospital for booking in. everything seems fine only slight discharge now! Got alot more energy this week.

12 weeks - 5 Nov. I arranged to have a nucal fold scan done, it wasn't possible at my hospital the only date that was available was the same date as my dating scan! I contacted the hospital where I'm having the baby and mentioned that the other hospital said they would send all the details, they said as it was a different hospital they still needed me to have the dating scan done!!!! We went in the morning the difference in the 2 weeks was amazing the baby had hiccups was sucking it thumb and doing somersaults, think it thought it was on a trampoline! totally amazing!

The NT scan was in the early evening the proffessor was fantastic he asked if we had a history of twins in the family, I said no but after some thought my great aunt and uncle on both sides are twins, I was a little confused as there was only 1 in the morning? He then showed me the womb there was a definate line one side there was a healthy baby still trampolining! the other nothing - he said that this had been a twin pregnancy, We were sad but it explains why I felt so awful and felt I was miscarrying - I actually was. We asked if it could affect this pregnancy he said not. He also said there was no reason to have bloods done as it could give a false reading due to the loss of the twin, so he gave us the results straight away, the figures were low and he suggested that he didn't think I was high risk or that i should go for an amnio. Relief! We then had 3d/4d pics done totally amazing well worth doing!

15 weeks I don't know where the time is going! Feeling great although got a face like a pizza using a ton of concealer in the mornings now! I feel that good I'm worried that everything is ok, considering getting a doppler. Going to see midwife on the 5th of Dec. Will I ever stop worrying. I've been fancying cheese lately especially cheese and apple although not good at night time had some really horrible nightmares!

17 weeks - 5 Dec Went to see midwife today doing well heard the heartbeat so reassuring! Will probably tell all our friends now only close family knows! Although going into the midwife's waiting room the school town crier came came out, so probably the whole world will know by now!

I'm still waking up at 5am every morning! Still Spotty! but the good thing is I've been feeling bubble sensations since late 15 weeks and flicks when I lie on my side from last week. Also starting to show slightly have to undo button when I get home! So excited now, will feel alot better after I have my scan on 27 Dec!

20 weeks 27 Dec. 20 week scan at hospital! I dreaded going so much after all the problems and was nearly crying whilst I was in the waiting room, it didn't help that I hadn't had much sleep. The sonographer was great she told us straight away she could see the heartbeat, the relief was unbelivable - The baby has grown so much since the last scan it was sucking it's thumb again and bouncing around, so cute feel so maternal! The Dr had me a little woried he said that I had trace protein in my water but my b.p was normal he said they may have to induce me at 38 weeks - don't fancy being induced, I asked why inducing and he said not to worry they may discuss it again??? Came home and checked the internet! I had been having alot of headaches but thought it was due to worrying about going for the scan, typed in protein in urine and pre eclampsia came up! That's all I need... Going to see the midwife on 23 Jan hopefully all ok! I've had terrible indigestion over Christmas someone said it could be a hairy baby!!! We managed to get a 'sister' Christmas card for our 5 year old who we hadn't told and, put the scan pic in. We gave it to her when we came home, she said but Mummy I'm not a sister she then opened the card and saw the scan pic, her jaw dropped it turned into a huge smile wowwwwwwwwwweeeeeee Mummy have you got a baby in your tum? She is soooooooo excited, know what the cat feels like when it's getting stroked all the time now! We're so pleased.

21 weeks I'm still in my own clothes although boobs are like water melons gone up 2 bra sizes. People keep commenting saying that I haven't got much of a bump my tummy has changed shape and seems to be sticking out to me. Could it be that my boobs are that big now it makes my tum look smaller!!! Still being sick when I brush my teeth also textures of things make me feel ill was eating baby carrots and had to run to the toilet quick totally bizzare!

22 Weeks Got on the scales today and lost 2lb? Although I dropped 2 dress sizes when I had our daughter. Could be the fact that I can't eat pastry and chocolate makes me sick. Baby kicking but doesn't seem as strong as it was. Need to stop worrying!

24 weeks 23 Jan I went to see the midwife today, feel much better after talking to her, she said the baby was fine and to stop worrying about not putting on weight, she said some women put weight on at the end of their pregnancies, she was so nice. She measured my tum measuring 26cm whatever that means?! She heard the heartbeat but the baby was so active she couldn't get a figure for the heartbeat!!! - a nice strong heartbeat though. Feel much better now apart from the indigestion! Going looking at prams on saturday can't decide which I like the look of the silver cross 3d or the pliko pramette?

25 weeks Hadn't felt the baby move properly since saturday. It felt more like wind with a tiny kick at the end, wasn't so worried as my daughter turned around and was unable to feel her properly. Contacted the midwife she told me to go straight to hospital, they listened into the baby's heart everything was fine then the m/w moved the baby it was kicking down then so felt like i needed the toilet!!! Measuring 27 weeks got to go back for a scan next tuesday.

25.6 weeks Went for scan baby measuring spot on 25.6! They could even tell how much it would weigh 388kg! A little under 2lb. The sonographer was concerned as the scan showed that I have a low lying placenta - typical! Got to go back in 4 weeks for repeat scan and see consultant. Been reading up on net and heard some horror stories, trying not to worry and stay positive. Definatley no more babies after this!!!

30 weeks 5 March Went to see the midwife, Heard heartbeat m/w asked if I wanted to record it onto my phone, left phone in work doh! Forget my head lately! She said it felt like the baby was head down. One good thing anyway! off for scan to se if placenta has moved tomorrow.

6 Mar. Been so worried again!!! Dreading the thought of having a ceasearian and not being able to drive, it's all fields around here and buses are only every 30mins if they turn up! As scan was after school we took our young daughter with us she was so excited at seeing her little brother or sister. Sonographer was fantastic placenta has moved yipee!!! Our daughter had trouble working out image so she swapped it onto 4d, totally amazing, you could see all it's features it winked and waved, just so happy.

OOOPS Lost password again definately got mumnesia - that's my excuse!!!

Update since losing p.w.

Been back to hospital twice, last scan baby was normal size and doing well think it's going to audition for riverdance though!

Bp slightly up and need to take iron tablets - will never look at liquorice in the same way, not nice!!!

2 May. Went to the toilet noticed what looked like yellow stringy egg white in the toilet- never seen before, (sorry if tmi) As waters just broke last time. I rang hospital they said it sounded like a show had the same again a little later.

4 May. No signs thankfully. Hubby pleased I've not gone - the boiler is broken and we are getting the tank taken out of the babies room hence can't move for baby stuff in our bedroom. He's also boaring out the loft to put his keyboards and (his) junk up there. Going to try and keep my legs crossed until next weekend!! Still got terrible indigestion and vomiting. Watch this space!

16 May 05:37 woke up with niggly aches didn't think anything of it, 10 mins later contractions started every 2mins apart, I thought this must be irregular got into the bath and they became stronger! woke hubby and got him to ring hospital, they told us to come in straight away. I asked if i could use the birthing pool to labour in. it was free yay! Drove to hospital contractions now every 1min apart ordered hubby to go through all 6 red lights!!!

Arrived at the hospital to find door locked and nobody answering buzzer, dh said i was nearly pulling the door off it's hinges! a midwife was by the lift took one look at me and got in with me keep panting she told me!!! got into the room the midwife said she didn't think she'd be able to fill the pool in time, but asked if she could put me on the monitor. I had to get up from lying down pain was too bad so knelt up wanted to push so hubby ran out to get mw 2 pushes with hubby trying to get pants off and baby Amber Rose arrived at 06:57 1hr and 20 mins from when I woke up!

She's a minature of her dad and big sister weighed 6lb exactly.

We are so proud
