I am 28 years old and pregnant for the first time! My husband and I are very excited and can't wait for christmas this year : )

Wow, can't believe how quickly time is passing, only 3 months left to go! Not long now before we meet our little Sprout...

phd thesis in what?
I think just the thought of being independent from Hamishs family is making us look for houses, we have a decent deposit ready and the bank as already told us how much we can borrow, but like you say we know its a on going cost!
I just dont want to rent as its like throwing away money when you could be paying of your house!
Anyways...quick question, have you enjoyed being pregnant so far? random question i know :)

Afternoon Marina
Thats strange you dont have a midwife, whats the primary care team like?? Have you considered having pain relief or going natural..??

Wow thats great about your in-laws getting you stuff, but yes at 38 weeks im sure it will be a huge relief once its all here and you or someone esle can get it all sorted for when bubs arrives..
talking about babys room's, i was painting Olivers room the day before i went into labour, and since i only managed to do the first coat, my in-laws put all his stuff in there while i was in labour, bit it still looks great.
Speaking on antenatal classes, i am still in contact with them all, we have coffee and catch up every week with our bubs, and have done ever since the classes started which is great. we can chat about what our bubs are doing, and ask advice etc..
and as for finding it hard to concieve for people, i did kinda feel stink as Hamish and i were not planning to have oliver this year ( was meant for next year, when we had brought a house ( thats now on hold!) ) and we feel pregnant just like that! So now im making sure that i take the pill on time and use protection all the time just to make sure..i dont think ill like being pregnant so close after having a baby! Altho i have no complaints about being pregnant..i loved it.
Have you thought of having pregnancy photos taken?
anyways i best go and email everyone esle.
take care

have you thought of having a water birth??
anyways...baby shwer gifts, i asked for things like books, or vouchers so later on i can buy thigns for oliver when i needed them, like a highchair etc.
The doctor said Oliver is doing great, growing perfect which is great to here that im doing such a great job. He gets weighed on thursday by plunket so that should be interesting,by the way he feeds he has sure put on weight! he has just gone out of newborn nappies now too..my little man is growing up haha
As for the baby weight, i was really paranoid before i had Oliver that i had to lose all the weight i gained as everyone would expect me to ( dont know why i thought that) but honestly after having him, i just didnt care, as long as i was healthy and he was also.but with breastfeeding it just came off...same for stretch marks, i got some when i was 41 weeks, just a couple of days before i had him..but he was so worth it!!
I feel so sorry for you with you having the pelvic pain, cant imagine what its like..
where did you live before? as you said a shipping container coming closer to nz??
that would be so cool if he have a xmas baby, what a great present..
as for the antenatel classes, i loved them, always helpful in so many ways, and since im young i didnt know what to expect it helped a lot, also having Hamishs auntie as my midwife was bliss!
well i best go and leave you too it, hope things get a bit beter with the pelvic pain..
take care

zavana - Wednesday, 12 November
i worked up till i was 34 weeks full time, i couldnt wait till i finished haha, then i took my 6 week annual leave before my maternity leave kicked in..worked out great in the end..
baby showers are great, you get SO MUCH STUFF, didnt realise it until after, so Oliver has so many clothes and toys now until he is at least 6months!
Anyways, we are doing great, Olly has his 6 week checkup 2day so ill tell you all about that next time im on,
how are you feeling?? any pains at all??

zavana - Wednesday, 12 November

I cant sleep either. Ive been sick. I feel horrible.

kanojoca - Tuesday, 4 November
Oh so glad your optimistic!! i just had the night from hell!!
Got my lovley big pillow, and although it wasn't pee breaks this time it was sore legs.. sleeping on your side only numbs the leg on the bottom and to move around to the other side is such a mission!! My bf must of thought he was sleeping with an old women, groining and moaning!

Yep so i have an aqua natal class once a week, is that the same as hydrotherapy? Does the belly support pelvic belt help at all??

Going to see my midwife today for a massage, and going to ask for some physio as well.

Thanks marina!

I know, crazy, scary. I need to watch out for this one. she's ganna be a heart breaker, only because she's ganna be a lady and the boys will be devistated.lol. how r u feeling?

kanojoca - Monday, 3 November
Thanks a lot hun, so nice to hear other people have it too and the advice is so helpful.

I'm going to go at my midwife this morning, cause she keeps ignoring me. But i've decided to take it really easy the next couple of days to see if it lightens up a bit and now i'm aware of it, i'm going to stop doing the stuff i normally do!

Sleeping at night is the worse, my legs get numb and to switch sides is a mission and a half.

Thanks again

Sorry about that, pictures are on my profile as a slide show.

annie40 - Sunday, 26 October
hey hello, all good here. we're in the new place and it went very smoothly thanks, although i was knackered and achey on saturday and spent most of the day with my feet up (ollie hardly moved at all on friday - the move day, but is back to normal again now ). its so nice though having a whole room for him. i was up at 3 this morning sorting through his clothes putting them in piles of 0000,000,00,0,1 etc ready for washing. i have an open empty bag on the floor ready for packing for the hospital too and i finish work at the end of this week so i can just take my time and pack and potter and nest to my hearts content. i start parenting classes next monday and am having a baby shower the following sunday. how are you going? you must be getting close to the end of semester, although i don't expect you finish when undergrads do? i saw ollie number one on sunday and me and my friend talked about her picking the same name and we both decided their are probably a million olivers in the world and that it could be quite cute to have two who are friends and i feel alot better about it now, its not worth losing a friendship over x

zenmarmot - Sunday, 26 October
No kidding. We need to finish the baby's room. Do you know what you are having. We are having a little girl. I am soo excited, she will be here in no time.
