Wednesday, 27 Feb with a biophysical..they check fluid levels. they check for breeathing, e extensions, and flexion,2 movements, and check the SD ratio,to make sure enough blood is flowing in the umblical cord. each thing they check gets a rating. its out of 8 points. so you want an 8/8.its basically chesks teh well being of your baby.good luck hope it helps jacquichan -
Wednesday, 27 Feb I was curious once I read your comment and found this link on the ultrasound you were talking about. It is really a test using the ultrasound. Don't let it scare you, your midwife has to be safe rather than sorry.

Good luck and let me know what the results are! spidermansmama -
Monday, 25 Feb Hey!! All natural, huh?? WOW! You go girl! :) good for you! :) I'm gonna start with a walking epidural, then go from there. A walking epidural is obvisouly a low dose, but still helps A LOT with pain... there's NOO way I could try all natural... I get so panicky and anxious, nervous, overwhelmed... I'm just a basket case in labor! I commend you for going all natural! Good luck! :) spidermansmama -
Sunday, 24 Feb Hey! That's wonderful your pregnancy is going well. Everything seems to be going well with me too, although I hate being pregnant. I am just not one of those happy pregnant ladies.... my body feels so taken over and I could complain for days!! But overall everything is right on track... my last two appointments I've been measuring big. My son was 8.5 so this little guy may be on the bigger side as well. I guess we'll see. I'm excited though! I can't wait for him to be here!! :) spidermansmama -

Friday, 22 Feb he was the one that told me i was having them. hahh. i didnt know thats what it was, but i had to call him for a different reason, but i brought that up, and he said he wrote down in my chart that he felt them when he checked my fundal height. so he said if i get more than 4 an hr to call, but i havent about that, cus some days i get 1 an hr, and some i get like 16 an hr. but my gut feeling says not to worry. so i guess ill wait til it says 'time to panic' babyintheoven -

Wednesday, 20 Feb Your dr can tell you what he/she thinks your baby weighs just by feeling your tummy. According to my Dr..my lil' guy weighs 3 lbs at his point. It's not a definite weight..but they do a 'guess-timate'.. naomijane -

Saturday, 16 Feb Thanks for your input. I am hoping for a boy but whatever we get we will be happy with of course. I have been craving pickles, chocolate, salt and vinegar chips. I will find out at around 20 weeks. Can't wait. Congrats and have a happy and healthy pregnancy. kajk -
Saturday, 16 Feb Honestly - I just read a lot on the internet and borrowed books from the library though pretty much all is the same stuff... learning to go through a physically/mentally relax each and every muscle from your eyebrows to your fingers to your toes. It is actually sort of hard to do when you are in pain b/c you automatically tense up so you have to manually do this and check then recheck and it is all this checking and doing that distracts you from the pain. You also say a mantra for those really painful moments i said something like 'stay calm - stay focused - stay open' and it seriously did wonders. I also focused on breathing and slowly rocked from one foot to the other while gently rubbing my crampy area in smooth circles with my palm - the movements and manually thinking things through is what sends you and keeps you in 'labour land' when ppl talk to you, distract you by touching or what ever it makes it harder and harder to not notice the pain - if you find this happening just tell them to... shut it. :D Practice doing these things before labour so it won't be unfamiliar to you when you actually do go into labour. Trust yourself and your instincts - your body does know what to do.... Jasmine-P -
Friday, 15 Feb That's a fun idea! To tell our parents we're making a puzzle of the ultrasound picture and mailing it to them to 'assemble together'. (Both sets of parents live in another state, so it's been pretty easy to hide so far.) jenn1022 -
Friday, 15 Feb Yeah I know what you mean, My five year old still wakes up and climbs into bed with us, I am going to try and avoid that this time. jenn1022 -
Friday, 15 Feb Yep I have been feeling yucky lately like m/s all over again, not quite as bad though, and not enough to actually make me sick, but its still a yucky feeling!! Are you ready for this to be over?? Cuz I know I am! pinkchic727 -
Wednesday, 13 Feb Thanks so much for getting back to me. I have really enjoyed reading the profiles on this website-all the women seem to have so much faith and optimism!
I came up with a few questions...if you wouldn't mind answering when you have a few minutes?
Here goes:
Why did you decide to communicate on this forum rather than some other- did this one seem friendlier?
At first, were you nervous about talking to people who were essentially strangers?
How has this communication with other women who are in the same circumstance been the most useful to you in the course of your pregnancies?
Have you made friends through this website that you communicate with on a regular basis?
What do you do on this website, and how often do you log on?
Do you find this forum to be based more on moral support or knowledge?
Thanks, and hopefully you're having a good week!-
Val
