Thursday, 30 October Hi there. My baby is going to be half and half as well (my hubby is from Africa and is VERY dark and I am very light like Casper the ghost). I have not had him yet (any day now-due Nov. 4th) but I am told and have read, that black babies tend to look almost white when they are born and don't darken for a few weeks. SO, if the baby is mixed, it will appear even lighter since she has your white mixed with daddy's black. By the way, she is simply ADORABLE! ~Tania =) xoxo TDTG -
Wednesday, 29 October NatalieM - not sure if anyone else has answered your question regarding skin tone, but many times you can tell how dark the child will be (minus time out in the sun - which has a tendency to darken) by checking out the ears. Look at the Pinna (the outter part of the ear - you might notice that it is darker than the rest of her ---- Congrats :-) mamatess -

Oh, she is GORGEOUS! And I see both of you in her - from your profile picture, I mean. I looks like she has Daddy's little nose! mamatess -
Wednesday, 29 October Hi Natalie- I am having a biracial baby, too. From what I have seen/heard, they come out light and the skin darkens a few weeks later. I can't wait to see my little girl! I'm dying to know - what colour skin, what hue of eyes... I would anyway, but Andre and I are so very different, it should be interesting! superbowlbaby -
Wednesday, 29 October Girly...your baby will get darker! Look at her ears and fingertips, does the pigment around them look any darker? When my daughter was born her skin changed within about 4-6 weeks! Look at my profile pic, that is my biracial child and she was about the same tone as yours when she was born! She will be fine!! ashleymarie0385 -
Wednesday, 29 October My baby is half white half Honduran and he came out looking like my clone lol!!! He was born on the 16 and slowly his skin in getting a little darker and the old skin falls off. Has he started peeling really bad yet? Once they peel off the old skin their new skin takes its pigment is what our doc said. He also has med brown hair and blue eyes to top it off hahaha... I don't even have blue eyes, even though I know they can change it is just funny - I am like I swear hes yours!! flgrl -

Thursday, 16 October Ugh, that sounds like a nightmare. You have to tell your MIL that 4-5 days is plenty. This is YOUR new family and you should have time alone to bond. MOMMABIRD -
Thursday, 16 October So sorry you have to deal with the MIL!!! Definately not a stress that you need right now. I wanted to leave you a message bacause we are not far away from each other! I live just south of you in Brownstown Indiana! Good luck! lula -
Thursday, 3 July I agree, I think the issue with the U/S is more for insurance purposes, I guess they don't want all this pregnant women trying to get U/S all the time as it cost the gobernment money, but they just don't want to admit it, babyfever -
Wednesday, 18 June I looked up the nutritional content of watermelon and it is actually full of vitamins and minerals. I was very surprised. My husband and I were thinking that this child would be our last and had planned for me to get my tubes tied at delivery, now we are thinking we might want a 4th! Good luck in your pregnancy, it's hard to believe we are half way there. anglsfrmhvn -
Monday, 9 June Hi Hun, Congrtas and I read your post...
my neice had many u/s for the last four months of her pregnancy and they all told her she was having a girl...well guess what?? She had a BOY! And she had him on Friday the 13th!! We all got a kick out of it! So just tell everyone to keep receipts if they buy anything for your shower!! At 18 weeks two different hospitals and u/s technicians told me I am having a boy....but I still don't trust them!

Sunday, 8 June I had a friend that they told her it was a girl turned out to be a boy mommatiff3 -
Sunday, 8 June Yes I have had 3 u/s with my second child. I was told it was girl so I went out and bought hundreds of dollars worth of girl clothes only to have it turn out to be a BOY when he popped out !!!!! He was obviously very good at hiding or the tech was a complete idiot because he was no little boy if ya catch my drift.....LOL rubberduck36 -
Saturday, 7 June there are four of us pregrant at my job, and one young lady was told she was having a girl and at week 25, the doctor said that the turtle had poked it's head out lol, but at 20 weeks you should clearly know what it is, but it has happened~congrats and good luck sonia -
Saturday, 7 June well as the months come an if you get more U/S it will be more noticable but yes i have heard some of the techs are wrong but you will find out forsure when baby is here. lol good luck Jaquita Gordy -
Thursday, 15 May I think its still a surprise if you find out now or later. It doesn't matter when you find out I think it will have the same reaction, I'm going to find out next Tues, I can't wait we want to know what we're having. My bf wants a boy, but it doesn't matter to me much any more as long as my baby is healthy, either one is fine by me. cjmc2577 -
