Well, my husband and I have two boys, Austin age 12, and Jax age 8. We were not expecting another but I guess God had other plans. I am now thrilled that I have had a few days to digest it. My husband is slowly coming around. I am just so excited to get to the doctors so that it will fell more real. I am also nervous because I have been feeling a little crampy. It's not painful, just uncomfortable?? I don't go until July 26th.
July 13th- It's official!! I got my blood test back today from my family doctor saying that it is positive! I am going to have a baby girl!! (well, it didn't say it would be a girl) Although it wasn't really a surprise after the three pregnancy tests I took :)... The crampy feeling has gone away, probably because I have stopped focusing on it. We still haven't told our boys yet about the new arrival. My hubby wants to wait until after the first appointment to tell anyone.
July 27- We went to the doctor yesterday and got tons of info. I was a little dissappointed because I didnt get a sonogram but we did schedule one for Tuesday along with the glucose test. I just feel like this is all so surreal. I am soooo very anxious to actually get to go and see the baby. Can't wait till Tuesday!!!! We did tell our two boys and they are thrilled. My younger ones keeps rubbing my belly :) I still occasionally feel a little crampy, like I am getting ready to start my cycle. I am hoping this will pass soon cause it makes me so nervous.
August 7- Well I have been feeling soo good the last couple of days. I had to go to buy some maternity clothes because my clothes are too tight and I will be going back to work in 2 weeks!! I did get to finally have a sonogram, and it was AWESOME!! We saw the heartbeat and we even saw the baby move it's bottom.

My doctor said not to worry if spotting is a brownish color, but if it is a pink/red color, they need to know right away.

Hehe yeah I have 3 boys but the good thing is I have a niece on each side of the family that I can borrow when i need my girl time!!! I was honestly bummed when they told me it was a 3rd boy but then realized I am very blessed to have a 3rd boy cause I am use to boys and was raised around boys....when i get sturn with my boys they know I mean business when i look at my nieces funny it crushes them and they cry...i think I was not cut out for a daugther but who know what god has in store for me....i could have an oopsie down the road and have a girl, or I could end up like the lady on the progressive commerical with 4 boys!!! hehe but so far there are not plans for another! i will just stick with my mini sports team for now!!! good luck to you!!

hey there just read your post... i do not think you are overreacting... i would be worried too... BUT my doc said if it is brown then it is old blood so its ok and if it is red or pink to come in... i spotted a few times so the doc said no sex for two weeks... after that i have no spotting since... you could just have a real sensitive cervix.. hope this helps!

I had a friend get a U/s at 13 weeks and they told her that they were 60% sure it was a boy but not to shop till after her 20 weeks U/S cause the parts could be to swollen to tell for sure!

HI congrats when I went in for my 12 week quad screening they said baby had girl parts as far as they could tell and at 20 weeks confirmed they were right girl!

Hey. I had a 3D ultrasound at a couple days shy of 14 weeks and the baby's legs were wide open, however, you couldn't tell at that stage. The doctor said he thought girl simply by the heartbeat and I am having a girl =)

Hi & congratulations :) My OB did a quick scan at my 12wk visit and thought it was a girl, but wouldn't say for sure because the cord was in the way. At my big scan, it was 100% sure that we've got a girl in here. lol, all the goofy gender predictors were right, too.

I teach enviro education / geography in secondary grades 7 to 12. Ive put on nearly 8 pounds all over! So not really showing in tummy yet. Probably more treats than baby!

Thank you for your comment. Yes it is so hard to wait for the next appointment. And it's worse because I am spotting still. I am actually going tomorrow morning to see if I can see a heartbeat. I'll keep you posted.

To answer your question about showing, if you know I'm pregnant, I look it, ohtherwise, someone might just think I'm fat...but this is my 3rd pregnancy since the fall of 2003, so you may not have that experience since your kids are spaced out further. Good luck!
