Hi there!

Really happy to be expecting our first baby on 14th March 2009. Me and my husband have been married for 5 years, and decided we would love to have a baby (well, other than the dog!!) Have had a really easy pregnancy so far with no symptoms at all apart from the crying (what's that all about?!) Looking forward to hearing from lots of you to chat and hear about your experiences.

Nellie xxx

Hi Nellie - I haven't checked in for a while so thought I should stop by and see how you are doing. We had our 21 week ultrasound last Friday and got confirmation that we are having a boy! Yeah1 His name is Dexter and I can't wait to have him out in the world with us. I was laying in bed about a week and a half ago and felt a flutter and a weird dragging kind of movement from one side to the other, but then NOTHING since then. It's so frustrating but the doctor said he was in perfect condition during the ultrasound though we couldn't get him to move around much. Apparently he likes to stay wedged down low in my uterus so I guess he's just staying comfy and cozy for now. Drop me a note and let me know how you are doing.

Hey! I was just dropping in to see how you and baby are doing so do you know what your having yet and have you started to feel your little one moving yet? Leiland is non stop moving now, I feel so much better!

I noticed not a lot of us British but hey we're all preggas. My friend told me about this site. I'v really enjoyed coming on here. My midwife said you will never get a regular pattern in baby kicks sometimes may seem that way. Say's they'll happen more often when your calm and relaxed. Example first thing in the morning lying in bed.If your busy all day you probs won't even feel him/her kick.

Well, since this is your first one you have yet to have your uterus stretched out or your abdominal muscles stretched for a pregnancy. I figured I would show more earlier this time around but it has been 11 years since my daughter and 13 since my son. I was pregnant in '04 but lost the baby at 18 weeks.....Also, seems I carry/show much differently when I carry boys.....As long as your bub is growing I would not worry. My little man is 2 weeks ahead of schedule and Dr. is not concerned with my lack of weight gain.

hey girl, i am from week 30 and i noticed your concern about not showing... well i still dont really show now and it actually isnt so bad. no strangers start talking to me about their terrible labor experiences and nobody touches my belly lol plus i was able to wear my prepregnancy clothes up until about week 27!!! the only downside is that the guys around here who tend to love big girls always hit on me because they dont notice that i am 7 months pregnant lol but believe me, your belly will grow and soon enough your gonna not be able to see your toes and have trouble getting up and wonder why you ever wanted a big belly in the first place lol

hey NellieF, i am in week 30 and i saw your post and wanted to reach out to you. weeks 18-27 were kinda hard for me because my baby moved sporadically and i couldn't find his patterns yet. i did notice that when i had a cold glass of water or a piece of chocolate ;) that he would give me a kick. now i'm noticing that he's very active at night - from 11 pm onwards. maybe in the second tri, he was moving at night and i was asleep (and couldn't feel his activity). incidentally, at 26 weeks, i went for one of those 3-D scans. baby was moving all around and i couldn't feel it all - but i could see him on the screen movin' away. so that was reassuring as well. best to you.

Hey read your post about not having regular kicks. Don't worry to much about it as I had constant kicks from week 16 til last week and then went 3 days with nothing. Now he's back kicking again. My midwife says baby moves all over in different directions as he/she still got room to move around and if baby lies nearer your back feeling can be minimum to nothing. I have no idea what part of baby i feel anymore. Sometimes its kicking low down sometimes high up sometimes both at the same time. Also with my 1st i didn't even show even up to the day i gave birth with this one im massive its rediculous and im starting to dislike the discomfort!!! :D Chin upxx

If this is your first you tend to show later as well as fee movement later. With my first born, a boy, I didnt show until about 28 weeks. I could tell I was pregnant but others really couldn't. It is different for everyone....You are only 22 weeks so your time will come cuz once you start feeling bubs, you wont stop. I have 2 belly shots on my profile and one you can barely tell but then at 28 weeks I finally popped.
