Thursday, 17 April Hello, My son is now 11 years old, but was over 10pds at birth and was caught on my pelvic bone as well. Two nurses had to jump on my stomach very quickly to get him out at the end....needless to say they thought they broke his collarbone,,which I hear is quite common when they do that and he had a hemotoma on his right side as well. I did not think anything of it because they said it would go away. At the time it was soft and mushy. It never went away..it turned hard as a rock and it looked like he had a huge bump on his head. The doctor thought that was strange and had him tested for all these strange bone diseases...including going to many specialists. The outcome was it just turned into a hard mass like bone....no diseases. We had to see this surgeon that specializes in deformities..famous...people came to him from all around the world. At this point my son was about 1 1/2 years old. The specialist explained to me and showed how Deans (Son) brain grows and forms the skull. Well because Deans head was so dense on one side as the brain grew it could not push on the one side so his face was actually lopsided. Barely noticable..but after he pointed it out I noticed his ears were lopsided and his forehead (eyebrows) were too. The doc said it would continue to get worse if he did not have surgery. Dean went into surgery almost immediately and they shaved the hemotoma down to normal denseness and his skull slowly changed and pushed out where it needed to be...it corrected itself and he looks fine now. No problems at all...He looks fine now..have a picture of him on my vip page. So I guess the moral of the story is keep an eye on it..if it does not go away by a year or so check out your options. Honestly...I am sure Deans case was unusual. Just giving you a head up though. Wish I had the info sooner with my son. leahs -
Thursday, 17 April Hi there, just read your note about your baby's hematoma. My first child had that as well, he had a headful of dark hair so it wasn't noticeable to the eye but you could really feel it. That was about 10yrs ago so I don't recall exactly how long it took to go away but it wasn't too long, it doesn't cause any problems at all and should disappear eventually. Yes they just occur if baby's head is sitting in a certain position for a long time no worries. mommylaurie -
Thursday, 17 April Hey, about the hiccups. Same story here. Doc says they are normal. We found that giving her a little water or very watered down apple juice takes them away with 2 or 3 gulps. Babypethosmum -

Monday, 14 April Hey, about the stinging. Did they give you a water bottle to rinse down there? If not, that is what saved me. Get a squeeze bottle- like for shampoo and stuff and rinse off after you go...it works wonders. momoffive -
Monday, 14 April I had a small episiotomy with my second child. It took a good 3 weeks or so to heal enough that it wasn't uncomfortable. Did they give you a bottle to rinse with when you left the hospital? If not, get one and try spraying water on the insicion when you pee. That can help a bit. Just wait, in another week or so the stinging feeling will be replaced with intense itching as it heals. Also my dr at that time gave me a lydocane ointment to put on it instead of the spray. You may want to ask about that. It covers it a little better. missjess -

Thursday, 27 Mar i dont have a pediatrican yet either. i actually have one in mind, but my insurance company wont let me assign my baby to a pediatrican until he's born because they say he needs a social security #. which i think is stupid because what if i want my ped. to come to the hospital when i have the baby???? momi08 -

Wednesday, 19 Mar hey, i would ring your doctor asap. if it isn't the start of labour (which i think i may be) then you may have an infection. good luck and let me know how you get on xx flavourishous -
Wednesday, 19 Mar it could be your body's way of cleaning you out before you go into labour, i myself never had the diarrhea pre-labour. Or it could just be a flu or food poisoning... if I were you, I'd get a doctor's opinion anyways. lilmami8508 -
