Hello.
I've actually been on this site for quite a while. I really haven't had much time to update this or even interact with the wonderful Mommies and Mommies-to-be on this site. I really do enjoy and appreciate all the the ups and downs we all have been going through.
My short story is thus:
My husband and I weren't trying to have a baby, but we hadn't been preventing it either. To be honest, we didn't think I could get pregnant, as I was told that I would never carry to term due to uterine scar tissue, while I was serving in the Navy. Thanksgiving 2006 we found out we were expecting. I was scared, terrified, and excited. But it wasn't meant to be. I had an ectopic pregnancy the first week in December. The baby couldn't descend into my uterus because of scar tissue that was choking off my right fallopian tube. It was removed and some of the abdominal scar tissue was also removed. The doctor performing the procedure was very positive and felt that he got all of the scar tissue and that my remaining ovary and fallopian tube was healthy enough should we decide to try again.
Well, I decided that we would live our lives...we bought a pair of motorcycles...took a few trips... Then, towards the end of summer, one long weekend on the open road. It happened. We did it. We got pregnant again!! I was scared, but I felt good this time. I guess I just knew it was right this time and that it was truely meant to be.
John has been the best. He is so excited to be a Daddy again. He has three kids from his previous marriage. But this is his first. He was in the Navy. He was around for conception, but never around for the whole thing. So this is a fairly new experience for him. I so happy that he gets to participate.
We have absolutely no idea what the baby is... other than healthy.
We do have two names picked out:
Girl: Iva Jean
Boy: Hunter Audun
These of course, may change if their eyes tell a different soul when we finally get to meet him/her. Who knows.
Well, as I am finally on maternity leave, hopefully I will be more willing to break out of my shyness and participate in some of the extremely richa nd entertaining conversations that help us all get through our journey.
Thanks for reading. Thanks for posting. Thanks for being here for eachother.
