My name is Nicole and I am 20 years old. My husband Chris and I have been together for 4 years this October 3rd. We live in Eatontown, New Jersey and probably plan on living here forever lol [ if it's up to me =) ]. In January 2008 we found out we were expecting & in April we found out it was a little girl! I would have been happy either way, but I did kind of want a girl first. I had a hard pregnancy, high blood pressure, diabetes, in pain every day... but I had an extremely healthy baby. I love being a mommy and a wife. I never knew I could love anyone so much until I met my baby girl Aviana Lucia. She is my everthing & I am going to do the best I can to give her a good life =).

We really owe thanks to my obgyn. With all of the problems I had during my pregnancy he always stayed one step ahead and prevented some really serious complications from occurring. He kept me calm during my pregnancy and made it possible for us to have a completely healthy and beautiful baby girl. Dr. Giovine is the best doctor ever and I will really miss him and the wonderful nurse Maura.

I read your blog. If you do not mind me asking. What was going on with Aviana and the blue can of Similac. Madison is on that. She has been very fussy at night and very gassy all day. She seems to be having trouble pooping. She goes a little but tons of gas. Poop is not hard just small amounts. Doc on Thurs said said to try Kayro syrup in her bottle to help her go potty. That worked but now I have not put any in for a day and we are back to being fussy and gassey and small poops again. I did not want to have the opposite problem of diarreha. I think I need to change her to a different formula. I will call doc next week.

How is she doing on the new formula. She is so very cute. Madison is one month old today.

hey your little girl is adorable. I also got gripe water for my little girl. it is for gas and to help with hiccups. My ped told us not to give it to her so much only 2 times a day if she needs it.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

I am worried about my diabetes not going away. My doc had me check my fastings for two weeks after delivery and they were anywhere from 90-108. I think the same thing about having high numbers due to sleep and not checking them at the same time I did while pregnant. I go at the end of the mnth for my 6 wk check up. I felt the same way about NSTs but at the end she would always get the hiccups while I was on the machine so I could feel and hear them. It was realy cute.

She has not purposely smiled. She makes funny faces after eating. She makes smiles, frowns, and what looks like laughing. I know they are not "for real" smiles but still very cute. I tried with my son to get him to say mommy(mama) first. I would constantley say mama all day, since I know that dada is usually first since easier. I would never say dada but his said dada first. I can't wait for the cute sounds either. Right now she is a grunter. Madison stares at me when I am taking if someone else is holding her. Everyone says she already knows her mommy.

Time goes by so fast. She is 3 wks today.

I read your profile, I feel the same way about my docs. I had excellent care. My doc even came in on her day off to do my c section since Madison decided to arrive before my schedule date.

Your little girl is abosolutely adorable.

I also was having wkly BPP so I have so many ultrasound pics of Madison. I was great to see her each week and to hear her heartbeat at the NST. My 5 yr old son Andrew looks just like my husband. So I guess we got lucky that each one the children looks like each one of us. Since it has been 5 years since I had a newborn. I forgot how I could just sit there all day and stare at her. I can't wait to hear the baby laughs. I would just make my son laugh to hear it. It is the cutest thing ever.

It sounds like we had similar pregnancies. I did not have the blood pressure issues but the diabetes, BPP and c section. I found out that my thyroid is not functioning. Have all those issues gone away since delivery? I go back in four weeks to check all my levels to make sure diabetes is gone, and also to see how my thyroid is working.

Thanks, My grandmother knitted the outfit for Madison. She made an outfit for my son. I know what you mean about sleeping comfortably. I am know able to sleep on my side. Right after the surgery it felt that my incision was pulling. Madison is sleeping 4 hrs at a time now. Every ultasound the techs kept telling me she had lots of hair. My son had hardly any. She has been playing with her hair when she falls asleep. I hope she does not loose it. Your dtr is so cute in the pink outfit with the little ears. does she look you or her daddy? Everyone says mine looks just like me.

I know what you mean by going so fast. I can't believe Madison is 17 days already. I am feeling pretty good. I am probably right with you about 3 wks. Still feel sore every now and then, if I move the wrong way.

Your little girl is adorable.

newyearpresent - Thursday, 25 September
i will mention it to our pediatrician of course, but i tried a different with different nipple and the spit up is a lot less! i think he just overeats and extra milk comes out.

starby - Monday, 15 September
you can put the gripe water in a bottle but we usually just let her suck it out of a bottle by itself...it comes with a little dropper and we give 5ml at a time...I think our daughter might even like the taste of it cuz she sucks it right down! Out daughter isnt the best burper either, sometimes I try for so long to get a burp I end up making her throw up whatever she ate :( So these days I just try for a minute and if I dont get one I just let it go...

My baby has reflux and has trouble going to the loo as well. Its pretty normal. The reflux,if bad,can be cured using meds.My baby was prescribed Gaviscon,i use Infacol for the griping wind pains and with the toilet thing,my baby pushes hard as well and its really normal. If they are constipated then the midwife said to give the baby 30mls of boiled cooled water but otherwise their digestive system is young so they are gonna push hard.Theres really nothing that can be done and its totally normal.

Judesmama - Sunday, 14 September
My baby finally went poo last night, I was soooo glad, but it was a clump when it should be runny, so I know he was constipated! Again today he hasn't been able to go, but he should be going after every feeding. I feel so bad for him. He scrunches up and tries so hard to go, and when I pick him up certain ways he screams because his belly hurts. I try to hold his legs up against his belly to help him go, but not sure what else to do. I think the formula makes them constipated. Hope thier little bodies figure it all out soon

The other thing that really helped our little one was Gripe Water...it soothes the tummy and gets things moving I think...we found it at Walgreens and its just ginger and some other natural stuff...we still use that stuff occasionally. Hopefully your little one will catch on faster than two months :) Our daughter was preemie so maybe it took her a little longer! Hang in there though, I know how horrible it is, I was just talking about it with my husband trying to remember what other tricks we tried...I hope it gets better soon, she is gorgeous by the way!

starby - Sunday, 14 September
Yes! We totally experienced this with our daughter a few months ago!!! It was so sad watching her try to poop because she strained so hard...we did find one trick that really helped though...do you have one of those bouncy chairs that vibrates? We found that every time we put her in it, it relaxed her just enough to be able to poop, we dubbed it her "poopy chair", hee hee. It like they tense up so much to push that the cant figure out how to relax the back end to poop, it does get better though, I think our daughter finally figured it out at about 2 months...we still use the vibrating chair all the time though because it kind of mimics car rides which totally relax her and put her to sleep :)

dossfirstchild - Sunday, 14 September
hey, i saw your post and though i'ld give you some insightful info that was passed to me from my aunt (nurse) She said they will sleep alot...but that they need to be woken up to eat...atmost every 4 hrs...since their blood sugar can go down quickly...my 3 day old was doing that yesterday...and this morning i tried what she suggested (tap them under their bare feet) to wake them up...and then change the diaper...then feed...i woke up my little one this morning at like 9...and she woke up every couple hrs (actually 1/12) to feed...which was very assuring...hopefully hopefully this works for you aswell...take care and congrats on your baby.

CarmelloNmommy - Tuesday, 9 September
