Pregnant with my first baby. He's a boy and we are naming him Xander. He's due any day now....Though I'm convinced he thinks he isn't due until Jan 2010 at the rate this is all going....Guess I should just settle in and let nature decide when she's going to let me go into labor.... UPDATE: Xander was born 12.31.07 at 12:15am!! 5 hrs of natural labor and 2 minutes (literally) of pushing.

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

I know I'm not a doctor, but I can speak as a first time mommy. I was induced and it only caused trauma to the baby once. I rolled over on my right side and all was well. I was only in labor for about 10 hours and for a first baby, I'm told that's VERY good. Best of luck to you though. Keep me posted.

Oh boy do I know how you feel. And that's why my OB induced me at 39 and 5. I was thrilled when she offered and was just elated when I woke up that Tuesday morning knowing that my little one would be in my arms by the end of the day. And he was! Born at 7:01 that evening! Best of luck to you. Have you asked your doctor about being induced. Because I tell you what that added emotion at the end of your pregnancy can't be good for little one. They feel everything mommy feels...good or bad.

Well as it turns out it was my water broke!! It broke on the 23rd and then I had some OBVIOUS leakage happening on the 24th so we went to the hospital and she was born on Christmas morning!!! How crazy is that?! Story to come!
