Finally, Birth Story...

I had our newest edition, Sadie Alisabeth, on October 13th. She shares her birthday with big sis Allyssa and they are exactly 4 years apart. I didn't plan it this way. At one in the morning I woke up to a very mild contraction. I couldn't believe it. I was not due until the 18th and what are the odds of having 2 children with the same birthday. The contractions were about 15 minutes apart until about 6 in the morning. They started to get stronger and longer, so off to the hospital we went. We were admitted around 7:30. I was already dialated past 5cm and the contractions were around 2 to 5 minutes apart. I caved and got the epidural. I couldn't believe how bad the pain was. I had an epi with my son, but not with our first daughter. It wasn't that bad and I was hoping to go natural again. Allyssa weighed 7lbs 9oz and the natural birth was a breeze. Sadie weighed exactly 10lbs and thank God for the Epidural. Her being 10lbs explains alot in the pain department. Anyway, I got the epidural and they sneaked in a relaxer, which made me very sick to my stomach. So I laid there, not feeling any contractions or anything until about 1:30 in the afternoon. I had the biggest urge to push. About 5 good pushes and Sadie was born, at 1:48. She was huge. I did not tear though. They swept her off to the nursery and my family followed, all but my mother-in-law. The doctor, a very little woman, was trying to get the placenta out and it would not budge. She had her arm in there all the way up to her shoulder, for over 45 min. She was getting ready to do a DNC when it finally decided to come out. It was huge too. I lost 16lbs on that day. We are all home now and doing fine. I am so glad that is over and I can enjoy my family again.

Just found out I am pregnant with our 3rd child. Too excited. My son and daughter's b-days are in October, and I am due, yet again, in October:) The above pics are my Husband, Son, and Daughter. My son, Preston, wants a little brother and my daughter, Allyssa, walks around holding her belly saying "baby in there." Our due date is somewhere between October 8 and October 15 of '07.

2-15-07 I went to my first Doctors visit today. They confirmed that I am pregnant (not that 9 positive home pregnacy test didn't give it away). They also drew a gallon of blood and did a full exam. This was my first visit with this Doctor. My other 2 pregnancies where with a doctor that has since relocated. I will go on March first for an ultrasound. I cannot wait. It will give me a more precise due date. I have a 35 day cycle, so we do not know when I ovulated, hence the due week of October 8 thru 15. So far, So Good :)

March 2, 2007 I had my first Ultra Sound yesterday. Everything went great. We heard the Heart Beat and the measurements put me at 7 weeks pregnant. My new due date is October 18th. That is exactly 5 days after my daughters birthday (13th) and 5 days before my sons birthday (23). We have started to remodel our upstairs so that my son can move up there and free up a room for a nursery. He seems excited about it, but he is young. I think he may bunk in his sister's room or sneak on the couch at night. He is helping us decide on the colors for his new room and bathroom. He is hoping for a baby brother, so he is still holding out for bunk beds:)

The baby is in the little black sack up top. It is hard to see, but there are 2 white x's that mark the baby in the sack. "Itty bitty living space."

March 29, 2007 I had a doctor's appointment today. We heard the heart beat with a rate of 160bpm. I have gained a total of 5lbs and everything is looking good.

5-3-07 I had a doctor's appointment today. Nothing too interesting happened. We waited for almost an hour to hear the baby's heart beat and get my blood taken (again). We get our ultra sound on the 24th and then see the doctor again on the 31st. :) I have gained 8 lbs so far.

5-24-07 It's a Girl. Or so the ultrasound says. She was bouncing all over the place, so it was hard to get a really good shot of the gender, but the ultrasound tech said she had been looking thoughout the scan and is pretty sure it is a Girl. My son cannot say girl, so he has been telling everyone we are having a baby ghoul. Looks like all the predictions were right (except the Chinese chart).

July 7, 2007

Hey. I haven't been online in a while. I spent the 4th in the hospital. And as if that is not bad enough, we were out of town on vacation. I started bleeding really bad and was contracting something horrible. Turns out I have a terrible bladder infection and the bladder spasms could have sent me into preterm labor, Yikes. All the blood was coming from my bladder. They tested my panties for amniotic fluid and it came back positive. I was freaking out. We got to spend the whole day admitted in a strange hospital. I was the only person on the labor/delivery floor. My husband was not taking it all too well, especially when they wheeled in a baby incubator and delivery stuff. They were able to stop most of my bleeding and pumped me full of antibiotics and pain killers for the rest of the day. The amniotic fluid turned out to be false positive, it was picking up the blood in my panties from the urine (no bladder control what so ever). They wanted to keep me over night. It was our last day on vacation, and every hotel/resort was totally booked up. The hospital really did not have room for both my kids and my husband to sleep there. So they said I could leave if the bleeding slowed and the baby was not in any stress. She was hooked up to a monitor all day and we got another ultrasound to be sure my placenta was still in place and my amniotic fluid was holding. The only good part of the day was seeing her face up close and watching her blink. She looks just like our older daughter and weighs 2 1/2 lbs already. I gained 12 lbs in two days, due to all the swelling, and am now starting to feel alot better. I am home now and the bleeding has stopped. The infection is still there, but it is so much better (thanks to the antibiotics). I do not feel like I am peeing lava anymore and my doctor checked me out today and all is well again. I had never had a bladder infection before and was stunned to learn that's what was wrong. I have been drinking a gallon of water every 2 days, but it was not enough to keep my bladder flushed. Hope everyones 4th was better than mine.

August 30, 2007

I had a doctor's appointment today. He checked my cervix and said the outside is open (100% effaced) and the inside is still closed. I can start to dialate at any time now. The babies head is down, so that explains all the pressure I have been feeling. I go on the 31st for a leg ultra sound, because of swelling. I am sure its nothing, but he thinks it could be clots. I think he is just trying to cover all the bases, I mean, what pregnant women doesn't have some swelling.

September 28, 2007

I had a doctor's appointement today and am dialated to 3cm. He stripped my membranes and now we will just wait and see. I had never had that done before and it really didn't hurt. I had a few contractions throughout the day, but nothing promising. I go back to the doctor next Friday.

October 5, 2007

Back to the doctor today. I am now dialated to 4cm and he stripped my membranes, yet again (really kinda hurt this time). I thought I would be in active labor when at 4cm, but I am lacking in the contractions department. He said I am a ticking timebomb and he doesn't expect me to make it to my next appointment (which is next Friday). We will see.

October 8, 2007

Still no labor. I am beginning to think that stripping the membranes does nothing more than give a very pregnant woman false hope. I have tried everything to bring on the contractions. Nothing is working. The doctor suggested sex, nipple stimulation and of course, the membranes being stripped. None of which have done a thing. I have read about spicey food, Raspberry Leaf tea and countless other things to eat to bring on labor and none of those do anything either. I have had one person tell me to suck on my thumb and another to just envision labor will begin. The only thing I have not tried is Castor Oil, which I would never take. So this is where I am. I am dialated to 4cm, 100 % effaced, the baby is head down and I am sucking on my thumb and envisioning labor. Pathetic.

October 12, 2007

Had another Doctor's appointment today. I am dialated to 4.5cm and he stripped my membranes for a 3rd time. I am suddenly very sick feeling and anxious. I took a Phenergan and am hoping it will make me feel better. My next appointment is next Thursday, but I am hoping Sadie will be here by then.

Tonii - Monday, 26 Mar
Angela, I say my baby and the heartbeat today! :)) I'm very happy and relieved now. I pray all is well with you lately. Talk to you soon..

First Time Momma - Monday, 26 Mar
Hey woman!! Yeah...I totally agree with the 'spicy tree-bark' analogy! hehehe. Well so far this week (10) I have felt really good, except if I have to get up really early--> Like 5 am for work, which I only have to do 2 days a week. Other than that I feel much better. I also found that just taking 1/2 of the unisom when I felt like microwaved doggie doo (nausea) that it helped incredibly! Also if I got up and ate something ...ie., cereal, or fresh fruit, or a glass of milk, or toast, then laid down for a few that my tummy was much more cooperative. I had a doctors appt this week and was able to hear the heartbeat again, which was exciting. I am so thrilled with my doctor, she is kind of young and trendy (well, plus I used to work in that office and know everyone)but, anyway...I am so excited, she said that maybe at my next appt on the 25th of next month we will maybe try to take a 'parts-check' to find out the sex. This is as long as the sonographer dosent have any emergencies come in right when I am there....yay, how exciting!! I also went to a consignment sale last week, I ended up getting some great 'mommy-starter-stuff.' A stroller, car seat w/ extra bases, pack and play, swing!! I was so excited that I set it all up in the living room when I got home (to clean w/ clorox) but, mainly to show hubby....the look on his face when he walked in the door was priceless! He paused...and goes 'What in the world happened in here!' hehehe, I told him 'baby happened!' How have you been feeling? When is your next appt? That's awesome that we now have the exact same due date!! Are you showing yet? I have the 'fat-bump,' you know, the protective layer of pudgy fat that has suddenly formed around my waist line! ;o)

texasgirl - Sunday, 25 Mar
Sorry I havent been online in awhile. Glad you got your car fixed :) I'm definately starting to feel better. I'm jealous you felt it move, I cant wait to feel it. hope you have a great week

JENNIFERREBECCA - Friday, 23 Mar
Thanks! My Dr told me I could gain 25-35 pounds. I had an u/s yesterday and she weighs 1 pound already which is actually a little bigger than average. Hope your doing well.~Jennifer

JENNIFERREBECCA - Wednesday, 21 Mar
Thanks for visiting my page. Your children look adorable. I was hesitant to post a pic this time due to some mean comments. But I did anyways. This time there was all good comments, with the exception of 1. Which I read it this morning and started to cry. Someone by the name of Michelle said I was too thin not eating enough and my baby could possible die (go to the photos and look I think it is now on pg. 2). I just thought that was un-called for. I have a daughter, and a son, and this one is a girl. I have gained around 10 lbs so far. I get another u/s tomorrow. How is everything going with your pregnancy? Keep in touch let me know how everthing goes with you. So cute how all your babies are in Oct. My daughter and son are both Jan babies.

Tonii - Tuesday, 20 Mar
Thank you for the encouragement again Angela! My prayers to you and your family. I've update my VIP page if you get a chance to see how I've been feeling lately. Take care and GOD BLESS!

texasgirl - Monday, 19 Mar
Awww I'm sorry youre having a hard time. Glad to hear youre feeling better though.

texasgirl - Sunday, 18 Mar
Hey girl-how are you feeling?

Tonii - Saturday, 17 Mar
Good morning Angela! Well, I guess you can say that I had myself all worked up on Thur regarding my first exam. I told you that I was waiting on the Dr's office to call me with some type of results and come to find out that...I misunderstood alot that was told to me & probably because I was alone when I went to this appt I was trying to absorb everything. Anyways, the Dr. told me that my sac isn't empty it's just that my baby was still too small to see anything but he did see the Amniotic sac and the yolk sac. He told me that if my uterus would've been empty then he would've ordered my 'Quant Levels'. However, since he seen what shows a def pregnancy he only orderd the standard blood work required during a first exam. He also showed me on my u/s photo where the yolk sac was attached to the Amniotic sac which at the end of the attachment is what should be my baby (which by the way was very, very minute!) Rrreeww! Was I relieved and so thankful to you as well for trying to keep me calm, relax and optimistic! My next u/s should hopefully show more than I saw originally and I'll be sure to bring my mother along with me to be my support and 2nd EAR(lol) :)) Are you feeling okay lately?

Tonii - Thursday, 15 Mar
One more thing Angela, I remembered that my Dr told me that he didn't see my baby's yolk sac either? Do you remember if heard that in your experience? Thanks

Tonii - Thursday, 15 Mar
THANK YOU SO MUCH ANGELA! You just don't know how relieved I am now to learn that your situations in your first two pregnancies are similiar to this first pregnancy for me! My due date according to my LMP is Nov. 7 but most likely by the Dr telling me that I'm ABOUT 1wk earlier than calculated will put my due date about Nov. 12th or something like that. I am sched to go back for a 2nd u/s on the 26th, so hopefully I'll be close enough to 7wks to see my baby then. Pray for me...& thanks again.

texasgirl - Saturday, 10 Mar
According to my OB/GYN she used to prescribe Phenergan, but in the last 2 years new information has been released so that she no longer feels its safe for pregnant women. Zofran comes in a few forms, but the one she gave me is a tablet that dissolves in your mouth so you dont have to worry about keeping something down when you are nauseous. It even tastes good :) I've had Phenergan in the past and it always knocks me out, but this medicine doesnt sedate me at all. My husband turned 30 last night and I threw a surprise party for him, I was worried about being able to stay up late, especially with the medicine in me, but I didnt feel sleepy at all. Its definately something worth talking to your Doctor about. And as far as the smells go...YES! lol. And smells are definately starting to effect me. I had to leave the room when my hubby was eating an egg sandwhich earlier. YUCK. I'm having a hard time sleeping, although its better now that the nausea is controlled. We had an appointment yesterday and got another ultrasound. It was amazing. We got to see where the arms and legs are forming and even the spine. The baby measured at 8weeks 6days yesterday. Everything looks great! Whens your next appointment?

texasgirl - Saturday, 10 Mar
Yes, I understand that. I hadnt been able to keep anything down in day so they just gave me some Zofran. As much as I hate taking medicine, I think its better for the baby. :) How are you doing other than that?

First Time Momma - Friday, 9 Mar
How are you doing today?

texasgirl - Wednesday, 7 Mar
Hey girl-hows the nausea going with the phenergan? Mine just keeps getting worse :( but when I asked my doctor today if I could have Phenergan they said absolutely not, that its not safe in the first trimester. (not saying that to worry you, I've heard of a lot of people using it while pregnant. Im just confused)

First Time Momma - Tuesday, 6 Mar
ACTUALLY, since my last scan, my due date has changed to 10-18-07...so we are actually due on the same day. YES, I am exausted, all I want to do is sleep; when I can get comfortable. Havent thrown up today...yay, although, did cry 5 hours later after making jello, and the jello didnt gel...hehe. How sad. Yes, my job can be challenging on bad days, particularly if I have a patient with 'the runs...' EWWW. Imagine how bad it smelled before the heightened sense of smell. And now, I am avoiding completely trying to let a patient puke in the same room as I am, Or at least I try real hard...(Or I'm throwing up as well). If I take a whole pill of the Unisom, I would compare the effects as being similar to a phenergan. None-the-less, I took two 1/2's one early morning, and one mid-day...didn't fall asleep all day. So I guess it's only sleepy type symptoms when you take a whole pill. You could try that with your Phenergan. But, I know from past experience with that stuff for migraines, it knocks me on my @ss as well. ;o) Take Care!!

First Time Momma - Tuesday, 6 Mar
Hey woman! I had just posted in 8 weeks...almost there, about the nausea and vomiting, and I saw you have had a concern about the Phenergan. Well, I have had to take Unisom (Is also safe, very similar to phenergan, but is over the counter) as directed by my physician for nausea and vomiting...THANK GOD! I have been puking for days! So hungry, but everything smells bad, and nothing stays down. Like I said earlier in forum...who would have thought that the grocery store would be a horrifying experience? But after taking this med, much better! So, just rest assured that if your doctor has prescribed this to you, you are perfectly safe. I know of many people that have had such severe vomiting that they have had to be on the Phenergan throughout the entire pregnancy. It will be fine, the most important thing is, that you are now able to feel better, as well as keep nutrition and fluids down; as it is important for the baby to recieve these. Hang in there!

texasgirl - Friday, 2 Mar
Hey girl-we've been using the Honey Teddy Grahams. My sis had told us that crackers helped her first thing in the morning, but I found it hard to eat dry saltines at 4am :) So, I wanted something that was just a little sweet without being overwhelming. It seems to work best if I eat them about two hours before I'm supposed to get out of bed. My hubby has been good about waking me up to eat. I never even sit up, seems to help with the stomache acid. Hope it helps. Now I just need to figure out a trick for night time :)

kimmy - Friday, 2 Mar
well we are lucky... our boss is going to draw up the blueprints and we know a contracter that is going to do most of the work.... fairly cheap since we have known him forever... our plumer friend is doing that part for free... so we will only be doing the tiles... drywall stuff like that. the contractor will be doing the basic "shell' of the room and the roof. we plan on havng a painting party to get that part outta the way.... usually I do the painting since hubby cant seem to keep it off parts that arent supposed to be painted... but not this time around... fumes not too good for our little one... now that you mentioned it I am going to look around for a second hand constuction store... didnt know they had any! thanks for that idea! just waiting on the loan to go thru.... happy healthy days to ya....

dc_finest82 - Friday, 2 Mar
i honestly can not tell you when the m/s ends because mines started at around 5 weeks and lasted for a good two weeks straight and then stopped. i actually felt wonderful. and then it came back strong at about 8 weeks for a few days and then left. now i am one day shy of 12 weeks and i have had m/s on and off for the last week. i get to gagging at almost anything or any smell. its rediculous. i am hoping the rumor is true when they say that it ends at about 12 weeks. lets hope so......i hope that you feel better soon.
