~Here's a little background info~

My name is Laura and my Husband's name is Dean! We found out we were expecting February 22nd. Our sweet baby Gage came 7 weeks early on September 14th 2007! The birth story is posted in my children section. It's been an amazing adventure!!!

Gage Michael Is Here!!!!

~Gage's 1 year Dr. Appointment~

I took Gage to his 1 year appointment and he is 31 inches long and 21.3 pounds. He is in the 90th percentile for length and 25th percentile for weight. The Dr. was very pleased with his size. He is now off formula and onto whole milk. He literally went from being a baby to a toddler in an hour. Makes me kind of sad!!! Our little bambino is getting to be a BIG BOY!!!

Iiiiiiiiii know! I can't imagine why I was so leary of having a baby, oh my! I was waiting for the right guy to have a baby with. No other would be worthy! I think we might go to Vegas to tie the knot!

The beach sounds so awesome! It'll be nice to have your family with so you could maybe sneak away, if ya wanted. I too am going to the Oregon coast the end of August, Steve is a best man in a wedding. My parents are flying out and going with so we can do wedding stuff while they enjoy the beach and the baby. It's a win win! I hope you have lots of fun, I'm sure the beaches in Virginia are a little warmer than the blustery beaches of Oregon but it does get really nice and hot in August.

Sophie likes to lunge forward too, sometime only to land on a toy. She pulls herself up to her knees and assumes crawling position but end up in the sitting postion, doesn't seem interested in moving forward or back. Just in the past week she taught herself to go from stomach to knees to butt, so cute but interferes with nap time! I lay her down and she pops up to sitting before I can leave the room. One time she fell asleep sitting up and had piled her blankie on her feet and was bent over asleep, silly girl! She and Gage are alike, doesn't like swing, likes the floor and exersaucer (we have the same one, remember!)

Well the park wasn't as much fun as I had hoped. Travis looked like such a little peanut in the baby swings, I think I'll have to bring a big blanket to stuff around him or something to make it more safe. I think he rubbed a little sunscreen in his eye too as it kept watering! I felt bad for him but he didn't seem to care. I need to get him a sunhat and or some sunglasses. I might try to find a park with a little more shade too. Travis did love watching the other kids though, he was squealing, laughing, and trying to kiss all of them, it was pretty sweet.

Awww, you are so sweet! I swear all I do is cry! I used to be such a rock now I'm a big baby! That picture is kinda humiliating but what the heck, it's a big moment, right!?

Sophie is doing okay today, she is in her swing right now and that seems to make her happy. She usually hates her swing, gets bored in a minutes. She's chattering, saying dadada, so cute. Her top teeth are coming in (have cut!) and she is always making silly faces trying out her new choppers, so cute.

I got the mattress at Babies r Us I think it was 23.99(simmons)... we also put Ryan in the hotel pool and he LOVED it!!! Your gonna have soo much fun!!!

Awesome, yeah it's cute. I'll be anxious to see how well it's made but it will get the job done hopefully. I had a big shade over it too which I like so that Addaline is always out of the sun! Let me know if you get one :) I hear ya on the saving money to put towards gas, it costs me almost $100 to fill my tank... UUUUGGGHHH!!!!!!!!

No it doesn't say from the makers of water babies or anything, I just saw the water babies and starting looked around next to it. It is in a white can/bottle, has SPF of 50 and is frag. free. Hopefully you can find it, if I can somehow find a picture of the can I will email it to you!

Hey! I actually think I'm going to put sunscreen on Travis for the first time this afternoon so we can go to the park, wish me luck! He doesn't have sensitive skin so I haven't really researched sensitive products. Here is what I did find when I just did a quick search though, thought it might be helpful:

If your child gets a rash from his sunscreen, you might review the ingredient's list and choose a different one next time. Make sure to choose one that is PABA free. You might also look for one that gets its UVA protection from a sunblock, such as titanium dioxide or zinc oxide, since they can be less irritating than avobenzone, a common sunscreen ingredient.

Hey!

Sorry I totally forgot to answer you about the sunscreen, I'm a space cadet today again. Since Addaline's skin is crazy sensitive I bought some spray sunblock made by the same people that make "water babies" and it's a SUPER sensitive sunscreen with no fragrence of any kind in it so I'm hoping she doesn't break out. I'm gonna try it this weekend since it's supposed to be really nice. Since Gage has sensitive skin as well you could try that, I got it at Walmart.

Oh and for the pool floatie, I ended up finding a cool floatie at Dollar General, who knew?! It was only $5, GREAT bargain :) If you guys have Dollar Generals you should totally check it out!

Yeah I was thinking the same thing about the crazy tan lines from that carrier thing, we're too funny!!

I know it, I can't figure out why Addaline is waking up again, that girl cracks me up. I really think she just likes the closeness of nursing. Maybe Gage just likes the cuddle time with his feeding too!

Hey Laura!!

Sorry I couldn't get back to ya yesterday, I was SO swamped. They are getting ready for me to go on vacation and it's total pandemonium here, apparently people can't seem to function without me here doing their "busy work", UGH! I was SO stressed out by the time I left work yesterday I could of screamed. I am SOOOOOO ready for this vacation, it couldn't come at a better time. I AM getting upgraded in my position however which will be about a $2.50/hr raise so I'm pretty excited about that, finally I will reap the benefits of doing 2 peopls jobs. Ok enough bitching about work!! Sorry :o)

So how are you this morning? Did you tan yesterday? Are you going today? I didn't tan yesterday, got a little pink on my face Monday so I skipped yesterday. I'm going today though and hopefully the rest of the week, might try to sqeeze in a time this weekend as well.

Addaline woke up at 3am last night AND the night before, UGH! I don't understand, she was sleeping through the night and now all the sudden she is back to waking up. I don't get it?! Yeah Addaline makes it known when she wants out of her high chair or bumbo, anything really so I know what you mean about the arching the back thing and getting red in the face, how funny!

Oh boy, I don't know how you kept your cool with Dean's mom, that would of drove me NUTS! I could not handle Gerrad's mom doing that to me, I'd probably have to say something so kuddos to you for not! I did check out the body glove carrier and I also found a site that had it for $29.99, want me to look for it again and send you the link?

Macie had a game last night and has another game tonight, she just seemed SO uninterested at her game last night. I'm starting to think she is not much of a sports fan but I'm going to keep her in it this year and see how she does the rest of the season. I'm going to let her decide if she wants to play again next year. She is an AWESOME ballerina so that might just be what she excels at instead of sports... she is a SUPER girly girl there is no doubt about that. Gerrad said we need to get her in some kind of cheerleading because she is so stinkin loud and would be good at it. They have Cheerleading Gymnastics so I might look into that for the fall. Who knows?! Your time will come with Mr Gage to make all those decisions too :)

Well I hope your Wednesday is off to a good start! 10 days for you and 7 days for me, I'm STOKED!

I hope you had a beautiful Mother's Day!!! I had a nice relaxing one; I had my hair and nails done as a treat to myself.
I am so glad to hear that all is well and that you have lost 6 lbs; we are on our way! Congrats on your Anniversary coming up and hope you have a blast during your family vacation. I will be heading to see my mom in July and am determined to have lost alot more; I just can't deal with this extra weight anymore. Many many kisses to Gage he is looking so grown; oh I realized the boys have the same "exersaucer". I will have to get back to you on the pics. -Rosie

Happy Mother's Day!! I had a wonderful day, we were in Dallas all weekend, and Ryan did great, slept through the night both nights. We went to the Fort Worth Zoo, which was awesome!! I bought a pack and play mattress so Ryan would be more comfy, do you have one for your trip?? I am so behind on updating my page my computer has been acting, I'll let you know when I get chance!!! Ok that makes me feel better, I was just feeling a little bad all the sudden about having her couped up all the time. I think she will enjoy it though, seeing all the sights will keep her plenty busy until she crashes out. I'm SO hoping that she will take naps while in her stroller or we're in for it at night! I haven't ever heard of that carrier that your talking about, I'll have to look it up :)

hey sorry I haven't been on sometimes I just forget about this site LOL dang Cafemom! we are doing well thank you and I had an ok Mothers day. S/o had to work all day I got all homemade cards even from my S/O :). although it rained all day yesterday here the kids were just grrrrr lol they fighting and argueing all day so I tired of it and put them to bed at 7pm last night lol. oh well its just really another here. How was your Mother's day? hopefully better then mine was lol.

Yeah I thought that was kind of weirdo about the babies getting up at the same time!! Great minds think alike I guess :) Yeah Addaline LOVES her high chair. Every night after I feed her when we get home I put her in it while I make dinner and while we eat dinner, she only cries when she is ready to get out. Let me know what Gage thinks of it!!

Yeah your friends husband sounds JUST like Gerrad, he keeps saying "If you want something just buy it" OBVIOUSLY he is missing the point, MEN!! Yes you are definitely lucky with Dean.

Yeah when I started making my list for Addaline it wasn't as long as I thought it would be realy. The house we are staying in is RIGHT by Walmart, literally like a block away so if I happen to forget anything we can just head over there and buy it. I just feel a little bad for Addaline, she will basically be in her stroller everyday all day... do you think that's mean? I don't know why all the sudden I'm starting to feel bad about it. She LOVES her stroller, I just feel bad she won't have the same routine that she usually has. I was thinking of getting a backpack carrier for her so I can wear her, I have a sling she could ride on my hip in, I have to watch the dvd again, I only know how to use it in the nursing type position and she is too big for that now-a-days!

Yeah I went tanning today. I'm going everyday this week (except the weekend) IF I don't get burned and then Monday and Tuesday of next week, then we leave on Wednesday, WHOOO HOOO!!!

Good Afternoon!!

Sorry for the delay, been slammed as usual at work :( Oh my gosh this is too funny, Addaline woke up at 4:30am as well and wouldn't go back to sleep until I fed her, that is kind of weird!! That's awesome that Gage slept through the night those other nights though. Last night was the first night Addaline has woken up to eat since I've been feeding her the food/cereal. We started fruit Saturday for Addaline and she LOVES bananas for sure. She like comes across the high chair for them, cracks me up!!

My Mother's Day was nice, we had Gerrad's family over to BBQ yesterday for lunch and then my mom came over for dinner so it was nice. I love spending time with family. My husband is a crappy gift giver and didn't get me anything, he told me if I wanted a Mother's Bracelet (which I told him I wanted) to go ahead and buy it, UGH! I could bitch forever about it but I'm going to re-frain. We need to have Dean teach my hubby a little something! I'm super happy your first official Mother's Day turned out good :o)

The weather is SUPER nice today (typical opposite of yours), it's 75 degrees out and BEAUTIFUL! It's supposed to rain tomorrow night and Wednesday I believe and Macie has a game tomorrow AND Wednesday night so I hope they don't get rained out. Oooohhh hurricanes? YIKES!! You'll have to make sure and let me know you guys are ok if your supposed to get severe weather tonight/tomorrow!

I know it, I'm getting SO excited for our vacation. I have started gathering things up that we will need but not packing anything yet. I won't back until Monday/Tuesday next week probably. What about you? Have you started making your lists of things you'll need? I hear ya on the bouncing off the walls with excitement thing, I'll be the same!!

Hi! Oh yes, I had a wonderful Mother's Day! I hope you did too! It was probably the second best day of my life, Sophie being born the first of course.

My Mom and Sister flew into town to spend my first Mama's Day with me. We went to brunch with Steve's parents, brother & girlfriend & their daughter, and her Mom, brother & sister. Right before dinner we all opened our cards and gifts. Next thing I know Steve hands Sophie over to my Mom and my heart skipped a beat, I just KNEW what was going to happen... he proposed to me! We've talked about it some but just casually, like we may as well... we own a house together, have a baby, guess we should get married! It was so fun to have everyone there to see! Sophie is 8 months old today. She has started sitting up on her own. She is so proud of herself. She can get up on her hands and knees but doesn't go anywhere. She's pretty chatty, says dadada and likes to meow like a cat. All the company was hard on her, she was overwhelmed and over tired but was a trooper! My Mom is sooooo sad she can't see her every day. Growing up so fast! She wears 12 - 18 months stuff, which is crazy but I do like to keep her clothes plenty big so she can wear them a bit longer and it seems more comfortable! Give me an update on Gage, I hope all is well, take care!

Sounds like you had a great Mother's Day! I took the kids to the zoo. Zayden LOVED the giraffe's. He kept smiling and staring at them... up and down. It was hilarious! He's getting to be sooooo much fun lately. Last night my daughter was playing the piano and he was dancing! Tooo funny! I'm going to wear my camcorder out lately. ;)
