Oh it's nice to have a schedule! Julianna wasn't colic at all - just gassy...I think her lil digestive system has matured b/c she's sleeping much better now and seems to have established a real schedule of sorts. Usually she's down at 10 pm and wakes around 12:30, then up again around 3:30 and again at 6:30 then 9 - so it's roughly every 3 1/2 hours. Although I think she's in a growth spurt right now b/c she's was up most of the day but now wants to sleep and eat...(which works for me).
We had her one month check up on Monday...she's gone from 7lbs 5.5oz at birth to 9lbs 13oz on Monday...guess the breastmilk is working for her. I'd like to be able to pump some off and store it so I can go out now and then and have a break - but that hasn't been working well for me. I might take in a session with the group in town re: breastfeeding and see if I can get some pointers on how to get that going.
Was thinking that if in the next 2 weeks or so, if she hasn't started sleeping at longer periods, might consider suplimenting with formula to get her used to the bottle, especially if I haven't figured out how to get some milk pumped and stored...we'll see how it goes and what the doc thinks. Of course he wants to see me b/f for the whole 6 months but no way am I going to be bit up! LOL...she's got a really strong latch as it is.

Well, it's taken about 9 days, but I'm feeling normal again. We had problems with the epidural during delivery and there was a small puncture in the membrane around my spinal colum...creating the EPI headache...let me tell you - it's more then that. I had a low E droning sound in my head for 5 days along with a piercing headache that was worse then any migrane I've ever had! On Christmas Eve, we spent 7 hours in the ER waiting for an EPI Patch...thank the Lord it worked!!! Although, it sucked too - they have to do another EPI and try to find the leak...then they take 22cc's of your own blood and put it in along your spine to have it block the leak.
The good news - Julianna is flourishing! No jaundice, gaining weight, no problems with breastfeeding, loves her bath!!! And she's cute too! LOL
I'm back - and coming to the end of this pregnancy. I've been keeping up with you ladies although not interacting. Because I've had two children, I feel that there is still a lot I can offer to first time moms in words or encouragement, advice and sometimes just someone to acknowledge your feelings/fears.
My pregnancy so far has been one out of the story books I swear! No morning sickness or really any complaints. Just a sore right side under my ribs - thought for a bit that it was maybe gallbladder - but that's been ruled out and it's just a lil foot we can feel now and then. Baby is within measurements and hb is strong. Baby is active many times through the day. I've lost weight myself but finally gained some in the last trimester (it's all baby). I'll try to get a recent photo in the next few days to show what's grown from a bump to a belly LOL...
Because there have been 12 years between my last pregnancy and this one - I'm not expecting labour to be anything like the first two - no point in that, since the pregnancy hasn't been the same either.
