So beautiful Audrey Jade was born October 3rd 2009 nearly three weeks early and weighing in at 8lbs 3oz so she would have been massive if she came on her original due date. I battled preterm labor from 30 weeks on and was on modified bedrest for the 7 weeks leading up to her birth. We were very grateful for her to cook up until that point. Its amazing having a child and becoming a family all our own!!!
We are pregnant with our first baby due in October. We are both really excited! Here is our story:
I had been off of birth control for a while (more like 3 years) but we werent really trying to get pregnant I just didnt like the way the pill messed with my hormones. My periods were always regular. Around christmas time my periods all of a sudden went crazy. I would spot a few days or skip a whole period without being prego. I knew something was up. I thought maybe it was due to my underactive thyroid. I went to see my Dr. the first of January and they did an US and said I may have PCOS and to follow up with another appt. The Dr said I prob dont ovulate and when we decide to have children it may be difficult. Needless to say I didnt follow up. My husband and I decided to follow up when we were ready.
Well Valentines day rolls around literally three weeks after that first appt. My boobs were really sore but not like pre-period soreness. WAAAY more tenderness. I told my husband maybe I should take a pregnancy test before we go out that night since we were planning on having some drinks. My husband didnt think I could be pregnant, but hey, might as well be safe. I took the test and it really quickly turned POSITIVE. I didnt believe it! I mean, I just had an US at the Dr 3 weeks before and they basically said I dont ovulate?!! Wow! So I made an appt back with the same Dr so they could draw blood to confirm. They called back the next day-YUP I was 3-4 weeks pregnant! I dont know how it all worked out but it was meant to be! I am now almost 14 weeks along!
So sometimes your body may work in weird ways when you are least expecting it! So GOOD LUCK to all of you preggo mommy to be's and also GOOD LUCK for all of you ttc. Dont give up hope.
She is adorable !! i want to hold her and squeeze her !! |
