Hello and welcome to all TTC and Mommies to be!!!!!! My husband and I have been TTC for 6 years, and dealing with PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome), in which wrecked havoc on my menstrual cycle (not having a period at all or 1-3 periods a year). I prayed and prayed...then finally giving up back in April 2007. I started worrying about my period, because I hadn't gotten one since the end of March, and by the 3rd week of June, I was cramping really bad and my breast were so sore! I thought my period was due, but when it became late I scheduled to have my blood taken for a pregnancy test. Normally, the result was always NEGATIVE, but on June 21st (first day of summer), the test came back POSITIVE!!!! My prayers were finally answered!!!!
Had a little scare on July 1st....started bleeding (as if I was having a period)....after 9 hours in the ER and both a transvaginal and abdominal ultrasounds (I was 5 weeks at the time), my baby bean was still implanted on my left side chilling out!!!
My first appointment was on July 14th...unfortunately the ultrasound machine didn't have any paper, so I didn't get a pic :( .
I'm awaiting my second appointment, which is on August 8th!!! I get my official ultrasound pic done at that time as well!

AUGUST 8TH 2007
My due date changed!!!

At the ultrasound, the nurse and tech stated that I was 11 weeks and 6 days preggo and my due date was February 24th 2008!!! What a shock!! It all makes sense now, because the evening of freakiness was on June 3rd, and a few days later, conception happened!
My OB-GYN did say that I had one fibroid that looked harmless...but will monitor it at each appointment. I always had cysts, but never a fibroid!!! That got me very nervous-got me researching on the internet about it! Also, I didn't gain any weight, but my baby was moving around, very active and crossing its legs! Also being stubborn and not cooperating with the tech!!! Takes after me so far LOL!
My next OB-GYN appointment is on September 5th, and my next ultrasound (to hopefully find out the sex of the baby) will be on October 3rd!!!

We're having a GIRL!!!!!

Welcome Anaiyah Denise!!! Hubby and I were soooooooooooooooo excited to discover the lil tenant living inside of me is indeed a lil princess!!! Here is a lil narration of the three pics from top to bottom:
The first sono is Anaiyah's side profile; the second sono is Anaiyah facing the camera-her face is on the right (tilt your head to the right-you'll see her eye sockets); and the third is self explanatory...I had to lay on my side just so the tech could get the baby to show herself!!!
Her heartbeat was 164, she weighs 10 ounces and she was covering her face with her hands, and had the umbilical cord between her legs, trying to cover herself up!
We have bought a few pink items-sleepers, receiving blankets and onesies so far. I'm trying not to buy too much...waiting til after the baby shower to shop for items we still need for Anaiyah.

Had a lil scare last night around 10pm...I was getting ready to go hang out with the girls and went to the bathroom before I left. I wiped myself, and saw that I was spotting ! I kept wiping, and kept seeing pinkish discharge...then I saw a tiny blood clot. I didn't feel any cramping tho. I called my doctor's answering service to have him call me right away; 5 minutes later after telling him what happened, he told me to go to Labor & Delivery right away. Kenny had to go to work, so he couldn't come with me. I took a cab which is about 15 minutes away from me and went to Emergency. They whisked me upstairs to L & D, where they were waiting for me. I was put on what I think was a monitor that checked the baby's heartbeat and contractions. I laid there for like 30 minutes...and in those 30 minutes was the first time I felt Anaiyah consistantly kick! She would get close to the unit that recorded her heartbeat which sounded very strong, between 130-170. She kept punching the unit as if to say, get this daggone thing offa me!!! I talked and laughed at Anaiyah, because at 11:45 she was so active!!! And I figured the reason why I never felt her is because I rarely lay on my back-always on my side. After an examination, the doctor said I was fine and didn't see any bleeding. The nurses were so nice to me too.
So I'm here today really trying to relax. Today I'm 25 weeks preggo....15 weeks to go!!!

Miss Anaiyah was acting up for real!!! She was hugging the placenta, hiding her face in it, putting her hand in her face, biting her fingers, yawning, blinking like um, will you guys stop it?!?!? She looked so cute!!! Kenny was excited to see his stubborn lil girl LOL!!! We can't wait until she gets here!!!
February 20, 2008 (the birth story)
Four days til my due date. I have been asked numerous times for the past week, `Is she here yet? `. And nope, not yet!!! I `m feeling Braxton Hicks contractions...not painful, just annoying. And Kenny has been encouraging me to take walks when he gets home from work too. It gets frustrating when other women who are due around the same time as me have their babies before the due date...and I `m here still waiting. In a way, I `m kinda glad we `re biding time-gives Kenny and I a chance to finish preparing her room, our place and tying up loose ends. But at the same time, we are too anxious to meet our baby girl!!! Who is she gonna look like? Will she be a quiet baby or a lil busybody? We love her so much, and I know our love for her will be taken to the next level...a place that I was told no one can ever describe. Last night, I was just chillin ` on the couch and Kenny was on the computer-Anaiyah must have been in rare form because she was extra energetic. When she kicks or moves, it is barely visable to the naked eye. Well, she started kicking, squirming and moving HARD...I told Kenny to watch, and he sat on the floor and leaned on the sofa to watch the show Anaiyah put on! You should `ve seen Kenny `s face...mind you, he only felt her kick once. And if she does start to kick and we put our hand in the place she kicked, she would always stop. But she must have been trying to negotiate with us about her arrival or something!!!! It was soooo cute!!!!!So, we `re still on baby watch!!!
ETA: Later that afternoon, I started feeling contractions. It was about 5:36PM, and they were not consistent enough to monitor, so I thought nothing of it. As the time went by, the contractions were stronger and stronger, about 5-8 minutes apart. That night was also the lunar eclipse of the full moon, and had a great view of the moon from our window. I wasn `t about to miss that LOL!!! But the pain was so intense, we left to go to the hospital 15 minutes before the eclipse happened!!!When I got to the hospital, they put Kenny and I in a room with the most uncomfortable office table for me to lay on...I was soooooooo annoyed!!! They monitored me for about an hour and a half. A doctor came in and checked me-I was 3 centimeters and 80% effaced. The baby was still high up in my ribs and refused to drop into my pelvis. I was advised to walk around the Labor and Delivery ward so that I can help the baby move down and increase the centimeters. I only walked around for an hour and a half (which was so uncomfortable). In that time, I lost my mucus plug...which meant we were on our way to meet our lil girl!
Got back to the room, and was put in a more comfortable birthing room. Before I went to lay in the bed, I had to use the bathroom...and my water broke!!! I was excited!!!! At that point, I was 6 centimeters and 100% effaced...so I asked if I could get my epidural done (because the contractions were unbelievable)! After having the epi done, Kenny and I were able to sleep a little. I was awaken by the doctors and nurse after a few hours-the baby `s heart rate was dropping. I was checked, and the doctor said she also passed a bowel movement in the womb (meconium), and that they would have to do a c-section to safely deliver her. There was no contest-whatever they had to do for Anaiyah to be safe. The doctor said if her heartrate went down again, I would have an emergency c-section right away. He left, and Anaiyah `s heartrate dropped down from 130 to 80! Kenny and I almost lost our minds trying to call for the doctor to come back!!! He did, and I was prepped for the emergency c-section.At approximately 7AM on February 21, Anaiyah Denise was lifted from my womb and cried her first cry. Kenny and I were so overwhelmed with tears, relief and happiness!!!! She was healthy and alert...that is all that mattered. When I got a glimpse of her, my heart melted!!!! She was so beautiful...all the nurses and doctors in the O.R. kept saying how beautiful she was. And throughout my 3 day stay in the hospital, Anaiyah was doted on as the cutest baby!!! It was a rough hospital stay for me recovering from the surgery. We finally went home on Anaiyah `s due date of February 24th...a new chapter in our lives. We were definitely blessed!!!
