Our baby girl is 6 months old today. She is sitting up, but needs a "spotter" just in case she tips over. She laughs A LOT (I have never met a person who is so happy unless it was a person's wedding day); she has the best toothless smile ever! Our baby girl likes raising her arms up and down, just for fun. She also started to move around on her tummy last night and moved backwards several inches and turned 180 degrees. She really, really tried to crawl forwards to get a toy, but does not yet have the strength and coordination. I wounder if she will start to crawl this month?****************************************

She is 5 months old today! She seems much older because I am getting used to having her around. We are finally falling into a daily routine. She wakes up around 7 or 8 am, eats and then we go downstairs and I fix some breakfast for me while she sits in her high chair and plays with toys, or she is on her play gym kicking things. On a good day, I can take a shower with her in her little chair in the bathroom. On other days, she just wants to be held. She takes a second feeding around 9 or 10am and naps for 30min to 2 hours. We go to church sometimes at noon if she is awake. Then maybe do some shopping. Once we are home again, we have some tummy time. She is starting to sit up if she props herself up on at least one arm! She loves playing with cups. She is such a smily baby:) She sometimes takes a nap around 2ish. Then I get dinner ready, but if she wants to be held and played with, I watch a movie instead and play with her until Papa comes home. Then Papa plays with her while I get dinner ready. Not too eventful, but it is great to have a routine finally:)

*********************************************

She will be four months old this week. I think I fall in love with her everyday. She has the most adorable little smile, and has a cute little laugh when she plays--she especially likes raspberries on her belly and kisses on her face--that can really get her laughing. She loves when we sing her songs, especially really cheery ones. When she is hungry, she makes a cute "m" sound while she cries, as if she is trying to request "milk!"

*********************************************

My baby girl is almost 10 weeks old now! It's hard to believe that she's only been "on the outside" (of me) for that short of time. It's hard to imagine having a life without out her around. I love being a mom! It's so much better than working full-time. They say that being a mom is harder, but I think it's not as stressful; how could it be when there's such a happy baby who likes to coo, smile, and giggle?!

*********************************************

Well, my baby girl finally came on April 7th by C-section, 17 hours after my water broke. It's wonderful to have her here!!

*********************************************

As of last Thursday, I was 4cm dialated, 100% effaced, the baby was at a 0 station, and now I have lost my mucus plug about 3 weeks ago. What's keeping her in there all this time? My doctor really thought she would come Thursday or Friday, but now it's Sunday. I hope she comes soon!

**********************************************

On 3/31, I'll be at my due date. No baby yet:( I am dialated 3cm, lost my mucus plug 10 days ago, and am 100% effaced. All I need are contractions to start. I try going on walks, but nothing more than Braxton Hicks occur:( I guess it's not time yet. Sigh. I am happy that I am on maternity leave and have much less stress. Any day now!

********************************

I'm at 37 weeks. For the past few days, my lower abdominal area has been quite sore. I guess it's Braxton Hicks. It's often hard to stand up and walk around, but other times I feel normal. I hope that they change into "true" contractions soon. Can't wait to meet the baby girl! I wonder what she'll look like.

You know how when a child outgrows a carseat, usually at around 40 pounds, they have to go to a booster with a car seatbelt? The five point harness is just the thing that keeps them strapped in. I'm sure that is what your infant carrier uses to keep your baby strapped in. And with this seat you don't ever have to switch them to a booster using a seatbelt. They can stay in this seat with the 5 point harness straps up to 80 pounds. You might be able to see a seat like the Radian at a Babies R Us if you have one by you. They are worth it. I get piece of mind having them.

I don't know what you guys are looking at price wise on a new car seat but we swear by the Radian80 by Sunshine Kids. It goes up to 80 pounds with a 5 point harness. It can be rear facing too, I'm pretty sure. We transferred our 5 year old and our 3 year old in to one when they grew out of the infant seat. We'll be getting another one for our 2 year old soon and another for Nathan when he's ready. It's a great seat, a bit pricey but worth it. Check them out, http://sunshinekidsbaby.com/

Sounds like gas to me. The old adage for bowel movements is once in 7 days or 7 times in one day, and everything in between is normal. I wouldn't worry too much about it. It does not sound like seizures. Talk to your pediatritian if you are really worried but I am sure it is nothing serious.

Hi! Thank you for asking. We did a recheck/follow-up two days after the fever went down. The doctor said it's not measles. She said that it was just a common rash that you can get from a very high fever. I was relieved and very happy that my lil one doesn't have measles. Measles usually take over the entire body once a high fever of 3 days goes down. I was actually waiting and checking for measle on my lil one's body. The only thing he has are lots of red spots on his face and that happen to be a rash from high fever. Right now he is back to normal, no more rash and fever.

When babies start learning cause and effect, usually around 2 1/2 - 3 months, then they will start putting signs that you make with the objects that they get. Babies also fine tune thier moter skills much faster than their communication skills/verbal so babies have so much potential to learn the sign faster than the word. You dont even have to use American Sign either, you could have "home signs" for things. The object is to use the sign right before, during and after the activity or object. For example, Sign "milk" (take your hand, hold it out in front of you and open and close it into a lose fist. Kinda makes you think of milking a cow...) Make the motion for milk, and say it. Then make the milk, or give the milk to baby. Sign the word milk again as baby starts drinking milk. Then again as you finish drinking milk.
www.signingtime.com is a good resourse. I'll be it it's a little pricey... but they are really good programs. You can usually find the series in the library so that you dont have to buy them. YouTube has some videos of signing time as well. Do a search on the web and there's tons that pop up for signing with babies.

I hope that helps a little bit. Please if you have any questions or concerns, let me know. :) I'll be happy to help you out. :)

Malone's head doesn't flop. She has extra padding around her head (I have a Graco Safe Seat). The sun visor can be pulled over to the other side if the sun is low and in her face.
