Well, my baby girl finally came on April 7th by C-section, 17 hours after my water broke. It's wonderful to have her here!!

*********************************************

As of last Thursday, I was 4cm dialated, 100% effaced, the baby was at a 0 station, and now I have lost my mucus plug about 3 weeks ago. What's keeping her in there all this time? My doctor really thought she would come Thursday or Friday, but now it's Sunday. I hope she comes soon!

**********************************************

On 3/31, I'll be at my due date. No baby yet:( I am dialated 3cm, lost my mucus plug 10 days ago, and am 100% effaced. All I need are contractions to start. I try going on walks, but nothing more than Braxton Hicks occur:( I guess it's not time yet. Sigh. I am happy that I am on maternity leave and have much less stress. Any day now!

********************************

I'm at 37 weeks. For the past few days, my lower abdominal area has been quite sore. I guess it's Braxton Hicks. It's often hard to stand up and walk around, but other times I feel normal. I hope that they change into "true" contractions soon. Can't wait to meet the baby girl! I wonder what she'll look like.

worse! with my first baby I thought there would be no way I would want an epidural. I quickly changed my mind! the epi is not the big deal a lot of people make it out to be. I did not even feel it when they did it and I actually enjoyed the rest of my labor and birth. see how much you can handle and keep your mind open to pain relief. It was bearable for me until they broke my water.

Thanks for commenting! Congrats on your little girl too!!! do you have any names picked out? This has got to be one of the hardest decisions i have ever had to make.

My baby has been head down the whole time too. I never even thought about how that would effect him/her. Great question. It's gotta be ok though, right? I mean, if it hurt the baby, wouldn't the baby just move into a different position? I'm just glad that the baby seems to know the way out!

Hey, I was responding to your ? on your post. This is my 3rd pregnancy and with all three the babies were head down with at least 3 more months to go. So far I have had very healthy children. When I aked my Dr. she said it depends on the baby and the woman's body on how soon they go head down. I hope this helps you some.

My last u/s was at 28 weeks and he was head down. I didn't think that it mattered, in fact I was glad because isn't that a good position for baby? Anyway, my Dr never seemed concerned.

Being upside down that long will not affect your baby, that is the way they are supposed to be while in utero. I'm surprised your doctor didn't say that? You would think he/she would know...

Hi there! I had an epidural with my first, and I really didn't think it was all it was cracked up to be. I was so cold, they actually had to take blankets they were warming for the baby to cover me. I delivered with about 5 blankets/sheets on. They said they never saw anyone deliver so covered up before. I also had a pretty rough recovery time, and I was still in quite a bit of pain during the actual birth. I have since had 2 homebirths, no meds, and was completely happy with it. I had less pain combined with them than with the epidural, and I felt back to normal by the next day. In fact, 2 1/2 hours after I had my son, I had to go get the bassinette out of the attic because we hadn't gotten it down yet and my husband couldn't find it! A woman's body is a great design, and perfectly made for delivering babies...without a nasty needle stuck in your spine! I'm pregnant with my 4th (and last) baby, and we'll be having our 3rd homebirth. I couldn't imagine going through another epidural.

Hey Peach, thanks a bunch for the advice. I feel a whole lot better now. I'll talk to my doctor on monday when I go in for my next visit! I was starting to think I have something horrible!

Be careful what you wish for..hehehe. I came from a large family and love children, I always wanted a big family. We had a hard time concieving our first two children. It took a year for our first daughter and fertility treatment after 2 years of trying for our second. both were pretty easly pregnancies with very little morning sickness. Then we bought our little two bedroom house thinking we were done, chances of getting a suprise were pretty slim after so much work for the first two. Well, a month after closing we found out we were pregnant agian, without trying at all. I was so sick I thought I would die. As a reward I got the sweetest son you could ever imagine. I was misserable with my pregnancy and didn't want to do it ever again so my husband had a vasectomy. they only could do half due to scar tissue and were pretty sure the other half never worked. Well I wanted more children but didn't care to be sick like that ever again so we took in a two year old foster daughter this summer in hopes of adopting. A month later we found it that the other side worked after all, we will now have 5 wonderful children. Thank God this pregnancy is going pretty easy. I wish you the best in getting your large family. All of my children are so special and unique. They are the greatest joy I could ever imagine.
