:o) It's a Boy! His name is Peyton.

04/29/2008 - I had my glucose tolerance test today. The drink wasn't as bad as everyone insisted. It tasted like a really REALLY sweet orange soda. It made me really dizzy and shakey though. Since I have a doppler at home, i don't get anxtious about listening to the heartbeat at the visits b/c I listen to it about 3 times a day anyways lol. He was being too funny though. She said it would probably be difficult to get him to stay still long enough to listen to it because of all of the sugar i drank and what do you know! She counted to 3 before he started doing somersaults.

05/01/2008 - So my 4D ultrasound is scheduled for May 22 at 11am. We are EXTREMELY excited and anxtious. I'm starting to believe i'm growing an Acrobat inside of me. He discovered my ribs and LOVES them!

05/03/2008 - I had my first baby shower today. It was the best. I got everything i wanted/needed. I got his carseat, stroller, bouncer, jumparoo, swing, about 40 outfits, a BUNCH of receiving blankets, all of the bathing necessities, and his bath-tub. My second shower is on June 7 and i hope I get my pack-n-play and breast pump.

05/27/2008 - Yesterday was a bad day. I started having low back pain around 2:30 and it usualy goes away within an hour, but when 5:30 came around it just kept getting worse. I called the hospital and spoke to a nurse who told me to come in right away. The hospital i'm delivering at is a Regency which only delivers babies. It's an OB hospital, so i trust their words. I went in, and when she hooked me up i was having contractions every 7-9 minutes. I couldnt feel them in the front, just in my back. Peyton's heart rate would go up everytime i had one so thats good news. Atleast we know he'll tolerate real labor. She started an IV and gave me 2 bags of saline b/c I was extremely dehydrated. They also gave me a shot of Trubuteline which stopped my contractions. They did a cath to get urine which came back negative for UTI. She also checked my cervix which was still closed and not thinning. The doctor told me that hubby is cut off from intercourse for atleast the next 5 weeks. They suspect that is what caused my contractions. They discharged me around 10:00 and told me to drink drink drink! I'm so glad everything is okay today. My last day of work is July 15 so that is getting pretty exciting too!

07/17/08 - So tomorrow is my original due date (according to my LMP), but due to babies size at 8 weeks, they moved it to the 26th. I've been out of work for a week now and i'm getting extremely irritable and bored. My Mom and I are going to pamper ourselves tomorrow with a mani/pedi and facial. I really hope this child decides to come soon. I had a u/s on Tuesday which estimated his weight at 7 lbs 11 oz...they say to give or take a pound. I have another U/S on monday to check his weight again and the amount of Amniotic Fluid. GOSH I DONT FEEL LIKE I'LL EVER GO INTO LABOR!!!! Hubby wont do the baby dance b/c he's "scared". He said if the DR can feel his head with her fingers then Peyton surely can feel his peepee....which is NOT true lol. I guess i'll just keep walking and trying pressure points.

wanted to see how things are with your husband going back to work.... it seems like i get up with the baby all the time... how do you and him have your schedule??
my husband will wake up and make a bottle and hand it to me.. and i just tell him to go back to bed becuase staring at me is not productive!!

Kindly leave a message, or hang up and try your call again later. it seriously has helped. now i have no guilt issues about not feeling like talking to anybody....tho i did bite the bullet and talk to the MIL for a half hour this morning.....:o)

You mentioned that you had major bleeding after your exam today. My doctor checked my cervix last Thursday for the first time and I felt like something running out of me afterwards and I went to wipe and tons of bright red blood and some clot looking pieces (sorry TMI) My husband called her back in and she said it is normal, but I was so freaked, I don't want to go back this week in fear of bleeding again. Thankfully it only lasted a short period of time, but seeing blood for the first time in nine months was pretty scary. Did you ask your doctor what is was from?

"My babies head is at -1..which means she felt it during my exam and I only have pressure certain times of the day. Especialy at night or if i've been standing a lot. It's not constant though"

i had an appt yesterday...i was 2 cm and 50% effaced. she stripped my membranes & said she felt my baby's head, but said nothing about station. i constantly feel him waaay down there and i feel cervical sensation. how do you know that if the dr can feel the baby's head, it's at -1? thx!

tdawn - Tuesday, 1 July
Oh, I see, I had thought you meant physically uncomfortable! My husband knew it was happening, so didn't go to the doctor's appointment with me because I guess he is uncomfortable being around when the doctor is going to be in that area... I told him that during labour there will be many more people around there! lol, I understand what you meant now!

He just started a new fire department, so I think he is probably just taking a shift off or something, which is fine, I will have my mom and his mom right here. He also works part time at his volunteer department (works 8-6 on his days off from the other one) and he is taking a leave of absence from that department so he can be home...

Our bedding is Engine #9 from Kimberly Grant http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/kmg/kmg617033.jpg

I cant believe you didnt have to do firetrucks... once we found out it was a boy, it has been firetruck, fire department, everything!!

charlestongurl - Monday, 30 June
what kind of schedule does your husband have at the fire department.. my husband is on a 24/48 (on 24, off 48)... is yours taking any time off for the baby??

cosmomama - Sunday, 29 June
hey! I had my 36 week prenatal and I asked that question to my OB. She says the pains in the vagina are normal and it is basically caused by the nerves in the cervix when the baby puts pressure on it. SO, ya, it hurts! Nerve pain is the worst pain! Good thing it only lasts a second! And I hope contractions don't hurt as bad (but I'm sure they will). Anyways, thought I'd let ya know!

charlestongurl - Saturday, 28 June
i was just looking at your pics of your babys room... i think it it adorable.. (i have the same furniture) my husband is a firefighter, so ours is firefighter themed... will post pictures soon...

number2intheoven - Saturday, 28 June
I know...feels awesome lol. At least we know that they're getting ready though :)

number2intheoven - Friday, 27 June
I get those pains too! My doctor said it's the baby's head....so yay, that's good news right?

cosmomama - Friday, 27 June
I get those vag-j-j pains too! what the heck are they? I was just laying around a few nights ago and my vag started really throbbing and it REALLY hurt. And I've not had any contractions yet, but I'm pretty sure contractions hurt your uterus, not your vag. So I wasn't sure WHAT it was! And it is hard to explain to people, so I kept it to myself! Glad you mentioned it! Pregnancy is a beautifully strange thing! 5 more weeks!

catherynh - Friday, 13 June
WOW... Oh my gosh.. I love it! You guys did a great job!
