Saturday, 13 September Please pray for my family.
We have safely evacuated but I'm hoping we have a home to go home to! I think of all the things we've worked so hard for just gone. All of my babys brand new things my daughters, my job is already flooded out. So who knows when I will have one.
To make it worse my dad didn't evacuate and is in galveston. He is now regretful and wishing he left. I'm a mess. My son must know and he has been awesome for his mom! 7 hour car trip slept the whole way and slept all night! sugarcubesandcottoncandy -
Saturday, 13 September i live in india. :) sugarcubesandcottoncandy -
Saturday, 13 September thats true of any place of work. they all have their internal heirarchy that doesnt necessarily go with the organizational structure. but this sucked. they put my daughters life and mine at risk and seemed least apologetic.
it 3 am here and my daughter is taking turns flashing her thousand watt smile and her poop face alternatively. lol. its amazing how they brighten up our lives. :) babygal187 -
Friday, 12 September That sucks that you are sick. I remember with my first I stay sick for about the first couple of months and it seemed like he always had the sniffles. What type of medication are you taking? I knew I read on fertility pages that taking things like sudafed can make you cervical mucus dry up. Maybe those types of medicines may dry up breast milk also. Hopefully it will all come back once you are not sick. Hopefully if a little is still coming out you maybe be able to work at it and increase your supple. Have you ever looked into getting a warm heat humidifier. I have one and it works great. I even got one for my room because it worked so good for my son. And it also cut down on the meds I was giving my first son.
Did you order you co-sleeper from Walmart? I ordered mine to the store and they estimated the latest it would come was July 25 and I ordered it the middle of June. Luckily it came a week before my due date. I don't think without that thing I would have been able to make it. I think it's going to be one thing I keep around for my future babies. I mean baby!
Speaking of babies. I don't know how many I really want. I've come to realize that I love babies. But I don't want to be one of those mothers that when I get pregnant everyone is like AGAIN! That's her 6th one. But I would really like a whole tribe. Maybe 3. 4 if the next one is not a girl. I was looking my Rowan's baby cloths and telling my boyfriend how I wasn't ready for him to grow out of them. But I didn't feel too bad because his reply was, don't give those away. You better put those in storage because you never know. So I guess that means babies are in the future. I just don't know how soon. littlecavalier -
Friday, 12 September Hi! I'm from the 12 months page and just wanted to comment on your post. I definitely miss having a little one to rock and snuggle, although my son will still let me it is just different. I don't think that one is necessarily any easier than 2 months was, I do sleep a little more but my days are jam packed with chasing, cleaning, chasing, entertaining, chasing, tickling, chasing, feeding, a whole lot of chasing :-). My son does say a handful of words but this age is definitely rough as he knows what he wants but doesn't quite know how to communicate it yet. There is a lot of screaming and fit throwing these days at my house and at those times I definitely miss my sweet little smiling 2 month old :-). I think that every age isn't necessarily any easier, just a different kind of challenging and the older they get the more you worry! Definitely just try to enjoy the ride becasue before you know it your little one will be growing taller than you :-). You have a beautiful family by the way! edmmsizemore -
Friday, 12 September At the Michaels craft store, then we painted them! You can also get them at Wal Mart in the crafts dept.
Thanks for all the advice with the cold, its only been 2 days and I feel horrible for her. babylove723 -
Friday, 12 September We had weight issues with Liam at first - he lost weight from his 1 week to his 2 week check up. Long story short, we had to switch to exclusively formula so he would gain weight. He started gaining about an ounce a day and the doctor was thrilled. From what I understand, gaining an ounce a day is great so it sounds like she is right on track. I guess some babies just need less formula than others. By the way....she is just adorable and I LOVE her name! It is so unique! roseplus1 -
Friday, 12 September Ain't that the truth. One outfit for every three or four at Target or Walmart. I cannot wait for a full paycheck. I just want to buy her some really cute cloths and socks that match. I am obsessed with matching the socks with the outfit since they can not wear shoes. babylove723 -
Friday, 12 September How often does your baby feed? I found this link to be very helpful:
http://similac.com/SMS/pdf/Feeding_Chart.pdf
Between 2-3 months it says your baby will take in appx. 25-36oz in a day, but of course these are only estimates. As long as your baby is putting on weight properly I wouldn't be too concerned. roseplus1 -
Friday, 12 September I am going to buy her Halloween outfit from Children's Place. They have the cutest ones, but they cost a lot. I am going to use the gift card. Oh, about the lunches, the guys at my job are sweet. If I bring the baby up and how much I miss hubby they offer. This started when I was pregnant and I am milking it. The groceries are from my MIL she stopped taking money for them when I was on maternity leave. What are you dressing Raegan as? I want to do a caterpillar. sugarcubesandcottoncandy -
Friday, 12 September they honestly couldnt have cared less. their callousness sucked. when i finaly told the gynec about all the screw ups, she had the nerve to comment that they had a lot of internal politicking to work around and people were not as efficient as they ought to be. and this coming from one of the best hospitals in town.
well all thats in the past. we are both doing just great now. while she has been smiling to herself, she flashed that first special smile today. and my heart melted. :)
life couldnt be more perfect. :)
how are things with you and your baby? i loved the pics you have posted. there is so much tenderness in them.

Friday, 12 September We are on the same page with baby development, my son will be 10 weeks on Sunday. Like someone mentioned, I am always compare him with other babies and comparison is not in his favor. I quess, we just have to relax, wait, and enjoy. roseplus1 -
Friday, 12 September You are evil. I was that way before the baby was born and received everything we needed from friends and family. Now I feel bad about even hinting at things. Me and Lizzy live with her grandparents and I feel like I already rely on them too much. But I have no problems telling my mother that the baby needs new cloths, she did not get me anything for my baby shower. But she claims she will buy the crib I want when we move to FL in a few months. I know she will get too much things for Christmas. She is the first and only grandchild for both of our families.
We received a lot of gift cards, but I spent it all before she turned 1 month. Oh I do have a Children's Place card so I will most likely use that this week end.
I like to remind people that we are only working with one check until my hubby finishes school. That always gets me free lunches and grocerys now...we are evil.

Friday, 12 September You and I both know that when it comes to shopping for our babies we go crazy. Besides, I am justifying my purchases by saying she needs to look cute for daycare and she needs at least 10 outfits so she does not repeat the same outfit twice in two weeks. I really wished I had money when Baby r Us had the buy on get one sale. Maybe I can convince my mom to buy some cloths as well. roseplus1 -

thanks for the comment on my 'family' picture...you guys are a great looking family as well! what sweet smiles:) hope all is well for you! roseplus1 -
Friday, 12 September When are you planning on christening her? We are schedule to do our on the 21st. I felt the overwhelming need to bless her..my family thinks I am going crazy b/c I insisted that it be done before she hits 3 months. We played the name game as well, for years LOL. I wanted to name her Chrstabelle after my grandmother and I wanted to keep her name old english b/c my name is Rosemary. No one loved the idea. So he suggested that we name our girl Elizabeth after his great grandmother. I pictured my little girl as well, plus Elizabeth Annabelle (part of grandmothers name and mother, MIL, and me all have Ann as a middle name) sounds to deliciously southern I can not help but call her full name all the time. Everyone else calls her Lizzy. You can tell I am bored at work. I want to leave early so I can snuggle with my baby. roseplus1 -
Friday, 12 September You feed her organic formula? What kind do you use? If I start to supplement, I would love to do organic. At work I always put my breastfeeding sham over me, the conference room door does not lock. I am waiting for someone to walk in LOL. I look and feel like a cow at the diary farm. How long does it take you? I am at 15 - 20 minutes each session. roseplus1 -
Friday, 12 September Girl, I never see her do it, I am just assuming that is how she move around LOL. It is cute and I love her more when she snuggles on my neck or just on my side when we are lying down. She is definitely mommy's baby girl. Do not worry, Raegan will get there. Quick question, how do you pronounce Raegan and where did you come up with the name? roseplus1 -
Friday, 12 September She is wearing it today! LOL I love Target! I get to go shopping for a christening dress this weekend and I am going to buy her a few new fall outfits..YEAH..shopping trip.I know I will spend way to much. I am going with my mother and she is definitely a shopaholic. I did not realize how fun having a little girl to dress up would be. I don't take half the amount of time to dress myself as I do with her. Girl cloths are so cheap and cute..I need to hurry up and have another baby or this little girl will be to prissy for her own good. roseplus1 -
Friday, 12 September I should time my drinking like that. I sit and stare at the bottle I am using and wait until I am leaving work to down 48 oz in 5 minutes..I will try to drink 8 oz every hour..How is you milk supply? I noticed that yesterday at work I was only pumping 3-3.5 oz total each time.I normally pump 4-5 oz. I am wondering if Elizabeth is eating enough. How many oz does Raegan eat and how often? This bottle situation has me stressed. I am so used to feeding on demand I am scared that I am starving her..she only takes 2-3 4 oz bottles at daycare, but when she gets home she acts so hungry. Yesterday she took 6 oz in less than an hour. I stopped feeding her b/c I knew her poor stomach could not handle it..sorry I am venting. Oh how is pumping at work going? I finally received my car adapter, so I am going to try it in the car..maybe it will be more relaxing and I will produce more. tiffjoy -
Friday, 12 September Thanks for the advise about my fussy little one. We have tried the swaddling, music and outside. Nothing has really worked so far, but we will keep trying. It is just so heartbreaking to hear him cry and can't do anything to help. queen-ri -
