Tuesday, 26 August One word.... money!!! They should be standard in daycares now though!!! I agree! We used the video monitor on our first baby ..she actually still has it on her since she is only 1. I really like that monitor too! It really came in handy a couple of times. I caught her standing on her little musicical aquarium one time trying to climb out! Needless to say - I am thankful I had that monitor and it was time to remove all toys that she could climb up on! She only gets stuffed animals and her blanket now! beckaboo -
Tuesday, 26 August to entertain, I take my lil one for a walk with my front carrier. The baby loves to lounge and walk. I also pop her carrier in the stroller and walk too. She loves to be in motion. MomJo -
Tuesday, 26 August Haha phonics i asked the same question to my mom....coz i was also always singing twinkle twinkle to her and didnt know what to do. Appararently my mom knows a lot of stuff and keeps her busy. She plays little piggy, counts her toes, sings a variety of songs and does up, up and away with her. She also make her climb her (my mom's) tummy...which is sooo cute. This tires her so much that she feeds well and goes to sleep. I am also learning all these tricks from her. MomJo -
Tuesday, 26 August Many moms on the forum suggested that it is due to nervous system not being mature and should solve itself over time. I will let u know if i will find out more. lizzie61804 -

Tuesday, 26 August Yeah, he cried so much in the carrier I was convinced it was pinching him or something. He likes facing out already, he supports his head really well so I just put him that way. We have a crew cab truck so I always end up nursing in the back seat or if they have a private nursing room I'll go there, I think I'll have to stick with those places for now. I should practice at home I guess! lol fisheagle74 -
Tuesday, 26 August You put it under the mattress and it detects their movement including breathing. I have forgotten to turn it off a couple of times when I took her out and it started to go off. So it detects the breathing. They can be anywhere on the mattress. It's wonderful and really gives me a peace of mind when I am sleeping.... I worry about SIDS. MeganAshley -
Tuesday, 26 August you gotta let her... shes smart- she knows that shes gonna get her way... try to just do a couple naps.. i sometimes even put her in there before she falls asleep, so she can fall asleep in there. dizzydayz -

Tuesday, 26 August I had to hold Aiden's in his mouth for the first week. I would hold it for a few seconds then he would take it for a few and spit it out.. we went back and forth then finally he grasped it. Yes, I was relieved when he finally took it! it does make it easier. MeganAshley -
Monday, 25 August how was the crib nap? lizzie61804 -

Monday, 25 August They dont have any specific brand, Ive always known them as Cherry dummy as they are round at the top(like a loli pop) and not flat. If you go to a cheap store they are the cheap ones you can get there! They not as expensive as the Avent and all that! I paid £1 /$2 for 3 of them! xx kelly714 -
Monday, 25 August What I meant by 'front carrier' is the kind of infant carrier where the baby is strapped to the front of you as opposed to the sling kind. I've tried two different heas supports for his seat to no avail. I think Im going to modify one of them by taking out some of the stuffing and see if that helps. Good thing he has a big head or he would be in worse shape with his head flopping all over town! I always feed Jake just before leaving ( we havent mastered nursing in public yet) but it doesnt seem to make any difference. Ive decided that it must just give him energy! I told my mom its like Im smoking Crack and he's getting it through my milk! Ive even tried to give him formula before because everyone says they'll sleep longer, but it makes no difference on him. I guess Im stuck with streamlining my trips out and rushing through stores for now! 1stTIMEMOMMEE -
Monday, 25 August Well all her furniture is home now. Thank God! Now I just have to wait on my shower to get her room ready. I am so excited. This pregnancy is really going fast.
So how is the little princess? bo -
Monday, 25 August Girl, you are abso;utely right. The reason she keeps waking up is because we think she is asleep after 5 minutes and try to put her in. We need to do it for 20. My daycare doesn't start till 6 weeks from now and I will give them the sling and buy them the travel size swing. Those two keep her happy.
I feel like we are friends.:) You always help me. Thank you. emarie08 -
Monday, 25 August Well give each one a day or so. Then again, your baby may not take one. Easier for you in the long run. It was HELL weening my daughter off but it saved us in the beginning.
And thank you... your daughter is too!! fisheagle74 -
Monday, 25 August I am using one and love it!! I use the Angel care one. The sensor is super sensitive. My only complaint is that the sound is not perfect. It does the job though. There is no static and we hear everything - it's just not the clearest sound. lizzie61804 -

Monday, 25 August her bed time's been 8:30. and she wakes up at 3am then back to sleep til 7:30-8:00 ish. this morning she woke up at 6:15. but i didnt give her a bottle.. just gave her the pacifier and rubbed her head, she was wide awake and playful, but i didnt talk to her.. just rubbed her head.. she was in and out of sleep/playing til 8"00 when i gave her the bottle... didnt take her out of her crib til it was time for the bottle... and it worked out well... she was in the kiddoppotamus swaddleme thing... she broke out of it, but it still kept her swaddled for the most part and secure. yeah, i give thebath at night. and i give it every night, so she knows its bath time then bed!. im a senior in college, but ill be there a couple more years cus i changed my major to secondary ed. social studies... and i transferred last year so i lost some credits... but its ok. yeah, i have one class today, and 3 tomorrow.. 1 thursday and 3 friday... full time school. my parents are watching her when im there, we live with them in the basement, its bigger than any apartment we'd be paying so much for. its workin out ok. savin for a house in a few years. bethk -
Monday, 25 August If ur baby isnt taking a pacifier, I wouldnt try and push one on her! Maybe she doesnt need that extra soothing! I wish my likl one didnt like them it would be easier when she gets a lil older! Where now we gona have to ween her off them when she few yrs old! I was a nightmare when my mother tried weening me off them so she soo damn stubborn think she'll be the same hehe. BUT it could also be the type of teat u use! I tried the ones from Avent (they have flat teats) and tiegan couldnt hold them in her mouth! So I bought cheapy cherry one(the ones with the round ball like thing on the top of the teat) and she loves them as their easy to hold in her mouth when she still wants to open it a likl bit! Tiegan looks like Maggy off the Simpsons coz its soo big on her face lol but it soothes her! xx kelly714 -
Monday, 25 August Your little girl sounds just like my boy! Its a 'crap shoot' with him too, or it used to be. He used to sleep most of the time, but it seems like he always stays awake these days. I call him "the ticking time bomb" when he is asleep and Im out. lol I used to think I could go to "just one more store" when he was sleeping, but oh how wrong I was!! He hates his seat now too. I cant use the head thingy in his seat cause of the way its shaped, the head support squishes his head too much so instead he ends up with his head flopping to one side or I put something on one side to support him. At least he's relatively quiet still, even though half the time I end up holding him and pulling the cart behind me. I always manage to bail out of the store before he has a total meltdown even if I didnt get all my shopping done...lol emarie08 -
Monday, 25 August Have you tried different pacifiers? At first I thought oh no Aiden isn't going to like it bc he would just spit them out. My daughter LOVED hers and it was a lifesaver. Soo I kept trying with Aiden. I tried 3 different kinds before I got the one he liked... which was the same brand as his bottles, avent. Soo he takes it now and its been good to us... especially in the car or stores, etc... it keeps him quiet.
