Don't I look small for 28 weeks?
I
was already overweight when I found out I was pregnant in June (5'6"
222 lbs/100.91 kgs), but today I weigh 217 lbs/98.64 kgs. I went from
222 lbs to 228 lbs/103.64 kgs, down to 208 lbs/94.55 kgs and finally
217 lbs.
From my bellybutton down is not my baby (as you know,
pregnant bellies are round), my stomach never hung over my pants, but
it did stick out before my pregnancy... only half as far as it does now
:) My old pant size was 18, but now they're too big unless I'm sitting.
I bought 40DD nursing bras and they fit nicely.
The
stretch marks on my hips have been there since puberty. I got the ones
on my stomach 3-4 years ago, that's why they're all white and not red
or pink. I'm hoping, if I keep a healthy weight, but loose weight while
the baby's growing, that maybe I won't get any more stretch marks! I'm
already having a hard time gaining weight.
I'm craving healthy
foods like loads of Granny Smith (green sour) apples, oranges, veggies,
and grains... I can't get enough grains. The Healthnut bread from
Oroweat, oatmeal, harty granola bars, I love it all! Before my cravings
kicked in (the first three months), I ate pizza, Taco Bell, $1 menu
items, hamburger helpers, just a bunch of crap. Going from that to
basically health food (as far as my body is concerned), it just made me
lose weight :)

Oh my god!!!!
I hit a Big Horn Sheep :(
I wasn't speeding! I was going less than 45 mph when I took my foot off the gas and started to put it on the break. I reached over and glanced at the radio to turn in down (I decided to do that before I had to slow down).
There were cars that already slowed down on the opposite side of the street, the side connected to the mountainside... I was coming down from Estes Park, the Big Thompson was on my right.
I was the first one on my side of the street. I didn't see why people were slowed down, I assumed it was for sheep, but my attention was on the mountain side of the street because that's usually where they are, grazing.
By the time I started applying the breaks, I saw three sheep (one male - the leader - and two females) on my right side, between my car and the river. When I finally realized they were there, I pushed on the breaks.
The three started running along with my car, the male slightly ahead of my car, then he darted out in front of me to cross. I hit him :(
I HIT HIM!!!!! He rolled up on top of my hood a little, a piece of his horn (about and inch and a half) broke off and bounced to the side of the road. I locked my breaks and he fell back on the road on his right side and slid a good 5 feet, got up, and ran up the side of the mountain.
I freaked out. I pulled to the side of the road and starting balling in my hands. I looked up at him on the mountain and he seemed to be walking and climbing just fine, but I was convinced I really hurt him, like broke his back left leg or something :(
One time a friend of ours saw an elk get hit be their house, but he wasn't dead. My dad called the hunting license people and bought a license to be able to go get him and put him out of his misery. He couldn't walk. My dad humanely put him down and he and I used as much as we could.
I bring that up because dad was showing me what happens when big animals get hit by cars. The poor thing had coagulated blood all around his back leg... where he was hit.
That's all I could think about. "What if that's happening to him? What if he's really hurt, but just in shock enough to get him up the mountain?"
I'm a responsible person. I take my punishments. I don't know what would've happened, but it I did kill it, I would've done whatever to make it right.
I stayed at the side of the road for a good 20-30 minutes. I looked for the chunk of his horn, but I couldn't find it :(
I went home and cried in Preston's arms. I took it so hard, I could only imagine what he was going through.
My dad and husband both said those sheep are very tough. They fall down the mountains all the time. If I was only going 35 mph or less, then I probably didn't do any more damage that he could've cause himself.
That didn't really make me feel better, but I knew it was true.

THERE IS NO WAY I HAVE A SOCCER BALL INSIDE MY BODY.
Does the description on the "week by week" agree with your experiences? I understand everyone develops differently, but my "symptoms" are 2-3 weeks behind these descriptions. HELP!!!
Saturday, October 27th
So, I haven't gone out since I've been pregnant because of risk of getting bumped into and whatnot. Not that I'm back in Colorado, I've really wanted to go country dancin' at this bar I used to go to with my mom and sister. It's a no smoking bar and people usually don't get that rowdy, but it isn't a good environment to be in pregnant.
We were able to get tickets to the "Shining Ball" at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park (tourist town just outside of the Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park). It was a big deal! I made the tickets so my husband and I could go, a trade. They were $85 each. People paying that much for a Halloween Party are serious!
For those of you who don't know, The Stanley Hotel is where Stephen King was staying when he got the idea about the book/movie The Shining. The hotel is very old (opened in 1909) and there are a lot of haunted stories about experiences there over the years. In May 2006, investigators with The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) investigated the hotel for the SciFi Channel program Ghost Hunters. TAPS returned to the hotel on October 31st, 2006 for a live, six hour follow-up investigation. The people on the show are plumbers who use scientific equipment to debunk/disprove haunted claims. That may be the reason she show isn't more popular, because more often than not, the "hauntings" they investigate are leaky pipes or breezes from cracks in windows or doors. TAPS did catch the closet door open and close on it's own on a night vision camera, and the glass sitting on his nightstand broke and the pieces were inside the cup, not on the table. Here's a small picture:![]()
Anyway, we were having a good time. We went as a white trash couple. Preston put holes in an old shirt and dirtied himself up, he looked great! I'm 6 months (24 weeks Monday) along, but I'm not showing as much as I'd hoped, so I put a pillow under my shirt (but then no one knew I was pregnant), wore slippers, used my make-up to give myself a black eye and wore too much red lipstick. We were both holding cigarettes and I was holding a beer bottle.
This lady came up to me when we were sitting by the fireplace and leaned in a little. I thought she was gonna tell me something. She made a fist and punched me in my stomach. It really hurt, like, she actually PUNCHED me. I looked at her and said, "I'm really pregnant!" and she didn't believe me. I was like, "No... I'm REALLY pregnant!"
She felt really stupid and apologized over and over, but it really hurt! I played it off in front of people (there were another couple sitting across from us), but when Preston and I went outside, I told him how hard of a hit it was. I thought I'd be fine, but I really didn't know because it IS my first pregnancy. We stayed about 15 minutes more, then decided to go to the ER to make sure.
I got right in (the luxuries of living in a small town) and the nurse put two... what looked like over-sized stethoscopes on my belly. She couldn't find the heartbeat for about 30 minutes, but just because my baby wouldn't stop moving. She said that was a good sign. We finally got the heartbeat, between 120 and 190, depending on how much he was moving around. It was neat to be able to hear all the movement :)
Everything was fine and I was able to get out of there in less than two hours. Thank god! It just scared me. Who punches someone? At a party? An adult snobby hoity toity party? She looked to be in her early 40's or late 30's. It was so weird. She wasn't even drunk. Some people!
Wednesday, October 24th
Ultrasound!!!! I had an ultrasound today and Preston was able to be there :) It was so exciting! We saw the baby's mouth open and close and wiggle the arms around :) We weren't able to determine the sex, we just couldn't see :( We weren't dissapointed in the slightest! It was the first time since I was 2 months along that Preston has experienced a doctor appt. with me :) We're so happy!!!!
23 weeks and 2 days My baby's left side of her face, looking up. 160 bpm

Tuesday, October 23rd
My first doctor's appt. since moving to Colorado. His name is Dr. Martin Koschnitzke (don't ask how to pronounce it). He's awesome! Not like the regular Medicaid Health Department doctors. They (his Nurse Kendra) were very attentive and caring. They went slow and made sure I understood what they said and that I didn't have any questions they didn't get to. So much better than the treatment I received in Florida.
He felt and measured my belly, he said everything looked normal. He listened to the heartbeat: 155 bpm. It was really loud :) Gracie was with me, but Preston's boss scheduled him today and he couldn't get out of it :( I was pretty bummed, but they weren't doing an ultrasound, so it wasn't such a big deal.
He did a quick pelvic exam and wrote me two scripts that I was able to pick up today, sweet!! He also gave me a flew shot and just took such good care of me! I loved it!!!
Sunday, October 20th
My baby was kicking my cervix. It was so uncomfortable :( I didn't know how to make him stop. He doesn't respond to anything I do to my belly yet. Like poking or a glass of cold water (like my parents did with me). Oh well, I feel him kicking all the time, and it is so cool each time... I never get tired of it!
Thursday, October 18th
Preston was finally able to feel the baby kicking :) We were so happy! He said it was really strong for 22 weeks... we really think it's a boy, we hope, but we're just excited to be pregnant right now!
Thursday, October 11th
I just got the best early birthday present... (my birthday's on Saturday) I felt the baby a lot. I could put the tv remote on my belly and it teetered back and forth. Understand, because of my belly fat, I can't see my baby moving - so it was so amazing!!!
Monday, October 8th
I'm having more cramps and gas, I can't sit comfortably the same way anymore. I'm more tired and wake up for a couple hours every night at about 3 am. My lower back hurts and I'm only in my 21st week.

Me and my hubby!
Wednesday, October 3rd
It's the first time I'm feeling the baby during the day. Usually I only feel "him" before I go to bed. In the beginning of September, I had this overwhelming feeling that I'm going to have a boy :) I've always wanted a boy! We'll see!
Sunday, September 23rd
I started feeling little flutters in my uterus. Like butterflies or indigestion bubbles. It's so awesome!
Monday, September 17th
We flew back home, from Florida (lived there for a year and a half) to Colorado. I'm so happy to be home and around my family!!!
Tuesday, September 11th
I lost some weight, I weight 221 lbs. Dr. Rawji said, in my case, it is okay to lose weight as long as I'm still eating healthy... and it would be alright if I didn't gain at all during my pregnancy. He listened to the heartbeat and everything was fine.
Wednesday, August 15th
I heard the heartbeat with their little microphone thing, it was so neat! Preston and I were a little miffed he couldn't be there :( That was my whole appointment.
Wednesday, July 18th
My first appointment with my doctor, Dr. Rawji. He's a very sweet man! I'm 5' 5 3/4" and weight 225 1/2 lbs. Dr. Rawji wanted to take out my I.U.D., so he sent me to the same snotty u/s lady. I was so scared it would hurt, but it only hurt for a couple seconds. They checked the heartbead and everything was fine!
Wednesday, July 11th
My first appointment at the health center. They did a pelvic exam and squeezed me in for an u/s. Everyone were in a hurry and didn't seem to really care, it sucked. Before the u/s, I asked if Preston and Gracie could come back to see. She said no because it was so early in my pregnancy that you probably couldn't see anything, and that may be hard to explain to children. Apparently, she thought I was only a couple weeks along.
When she finally turned the monitor so I could see... it was amazing! I saw the head, a lttle arm with stubby little fingers, and the heartbeat. I teared up a little, but I was also sooooo bummed Preston and Grace couldn't share this moment with me :( She gave me a picture (below), but you can't see anything. I was so dissapointed! When I showed it to Gracie, she said, "Ooh mommy, you're having a banana :)" It was so cute!![]()
If we have a boy, we're naming him James Dean, after my father-in-law who passed in 1990.
If we have a girl, we're naming her Jenna Monroe, after Jenna Jameson and Marilyn Monroe.
Thursday, June 21st
I had pain and bleeding, more than spotting, and I freaked out. We went to the ER and they took my blood and did a pelvic exam. The doctor said everything looked fine, and that my HCG levels have doubled, so that was a good sign. He said that unless I have severe pain or clotting, then I will be fine!
