Friday, 31 October Thanks!! I am going to try that this weekend. I spent a fortune on bottles and now I think she is old enough to try a bottle. roseplus1 -
Friday, 31 October Quick question, how do you get her to take a sippy cup? Elizabeth does not really take to the bottle either and I want to introduce a sippy cup but was going to wait until 6 months. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks. Laura Ward -
Monday, 6 October Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com
Hi there,
I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.
We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.
If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.
You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Monday, 22 September so we had to give our daughter an iron supplement...the pediatrician wanted us to do it because she was 6 weeks ealry though and didnt get the chance to build up her iron stores while in utero...It was icky stuff, I tasted it and it was nasty, seriously gross! I was really hesitant to give it to her as well but I figured the doctor knows more than me...hee hee...the first time we gave it to her we put the dropper right in her mouth and she gagged, it was a horrible experience :( From then on we'd fill a bottle with about one ounce of breastmilk and mix the vitamins in it, I'd then feed her a little breast milk, give her the bottle and feed her some more so that it wasnt on an empty stomach...after a few time she was totally used to it and didnt mind it one bit. Watch out though because it stains everything! I'm so happy though because we just had our 4 month check up and we can finally stop with the iron! yay! We went through two whole bottles of that stuff, PolyVisol is what it was called, not sure if that was the same one you were talking about. Anyhoo, just wanted to share our experience with the vitamins :) good luck! Parkersmommy1 -
Sunday, 21 September i give my son vitamin d. right now, their livers arent mature enough to make enough. if they get lots of sunlight, they dont need it. i live in canada, so i was told to give my son it. vitamin d doesnt pass through breastmilk so well, thats why just breastfeeding wont give it to them. also, it only needs to be given until they start eating foods that will give them enough. my son was badly jaundiced when he was born too, and vit d helps get rid of the bilirubin in the blood, and the extra blood cells that they are born with. dsmrwtnttn -
Sunday, 21 September I had the exact same thing happen to me. Stopped bleeding at 4 weeks and at 6 weeks I had a very very light period for 5 days. I'm exclusively breastfeeding, too. Doctor said it was normal. jennifersd -
Thursday, 18 September HI, how do you know if they are tongue tied? My baby has never stuck her tongue out past her lips littlecavalier -
Thursday, 18 September Spotting and irregular periods are completely normal during breastfeeding, no worries! Chaos -
Monday, 15 September Hi there! Re: reusable diapers... I use FuzziBunz, which are expensive right off the bat but worth every penny. We figured that if we didn't get diapers that are really easy to use, we would just end up getting disposables. These are pretty much as easy as disposables, aside from needing to wash them (which is also really easy). They snap up, don't need plastic pants and are super breathable. They cost about $20 each, but especially if you're planning on having more kids, they are worth every penny! If you have any questions, just let me know. bethk -
Sunday, 14 September Hi about the re-useable diapers! I have had to change from disposables too and so far I have some Mio brand and I also have Kushies I think their called! I'm still doing the trial on them all and so far I've found the all in ones really good as its straight forward and u only insert a liner (which is really cheap for hundreds of them) but they do take the longest out of all diapers to dry! The Mio are 2 in ones which means u have a water proof cover, u have a diaper part which to me looks like cloth u fold down and wrap thel iner around it!( I was OMG when they 1st come but really easy to use and dry VERY quickly plus its cheap as u buy only a few waterproof covers and then enough cloth diapers to go inside and u only change the cloth part and the waterproof cover can stay on baby then! Sounds VERY confusing but there's plenty of websites out there that sell and give personal advice on them! Here's a UK one (Im giving u this link as on here they help u decide which type of diaper is better for u) Hope this helps xxx ............................................. http://www.lizziesrealnappies.co.uk/ veroki -

Saturday, 9 August omg...I love that I'm not alone. My MIL is LITERALLY the exact same way. She even told me to shut up once when I said I could hold the baby if she wanted to eat. Seriously, my husband is constantly lecturing her and believe it or not she has improved greatly since we got married. When we were dating she used to tell me she loved his ex-girlfriend. She's actually holding him right now and she's telling him stuff like oh your parents dont know what they're talking about. And there's my husband, just sitting there. Which means tonight I'll have to tell him to tell her to stop that. But the only way to seriously get things resolved is to get your bf/husband tell her to stop, and tell her that you're his spouse now and she needs to respect that and learn her place as grandma, not mom. I really hope it gets better and if you need anyone to vent to please let me know, I do too!! Haha. bethk -

Monday, 7 July I have the same stuff going on, but the way to rule out "false-labor" is simple. Lay on your left side, and if after 30 minutes you feel the contractions lasting 5-6 minutes, and lasting 45 seconds or so, then you are most likely in labor. When we are standing up, the baby's head is pressing on our cervix, so that is making us have pain, and what are known as "Pre-Labor" symptoms, but if we lie down, and it goes away, it just means it's a false alarm, and you should stay off your feet to feel better.
I am going through it exactly too, and I went to labor and delivery on Friday, and I was found to be in false labor (AKA Pre-Labor), and 3 cm. dilated, I could stay 3 cm. dilated for another week or two, it all just depends on my body's timing for the birth. Good luck, and if you have any doubts...you should contact the labor/delivery department with you symptoms.
God bless!

Thursday, 26 June you dont need a form, just write it down in your birthing plan, its your baby and they need to respect your wishes, i plan on skipping the hep b shot as well, but i hadnt heard anything about the vitamin k causeing anything? JennSever -
Monday, 23 June well, my first thought about your chills is your blood pressure might be elevated. can you go to your dr as a walk in and ask them to check it? chills, nausea are signs of blood pressure issues. good luck kristalsfirst -
Friday, 20 June hey
i feel same way about registries as you do. People buy you stuff that you don't need just cause they think its cute or whatever. The point of baby shower is to help you financially with things you need. And its your baby so its stupid ppl buy u clothes that are pink and frilly and what THEY like cause ur going to dress your baby how YOU like. Also, with my regitry i picked things out specifically so I dont need other stuff. Example i picked a play pen that has a change table so i dont need a change table. So if someone bought me a diff playpen (luckily they didnt) i would now need a change table. Etcc.., i am with you on that one forsure tho =)
