Baby Avant was born May 7th, 2007 at 4:09 A.M. 8 pounds 3 ounces and 20 inches long! He is just beautiful!

After 9 months of waiting my son is finally here!! He is such a joy and very very cute!

My Birth Story is as follows.......

I was set to be induced on Tuesday May 8, 2007. I woke up on the morning of Sunday May 6, 2007 at 8:00 in the morning. I was feeling what felt just like cramps when I am about to get my period. Well they were not that consistent and really didn't hurt that bad so I went about my day as usual. Well at about 5:00 they began to come stronger and closer togethor. At this time I begin to time them. They were about 6 to 7 minutes apart. At my last doctors appointment I was dialated to a 1 and 50% effaced which I had been for about a month and a half so I just figured this was going to be a false alarm too. Well come 6:30 they were hurting worse and I was walking around and trying to just breathe through them. I told my boyfriend I think this is it we better go. We got to the hospital at about 7:00 p.m. They checked me in and I laid there and waited for the doctor to come in and check me. He came in soon after and checked me and I was only a 2. They told me well since you are not a 4 you will have to go home. I was like what with these pains GREAT! Well he said first go ahead and get up and walk around the hospital for an hour then we will check you. I did that and I could feel them stronger and closer togethor. Well after walking they checked me and I was a 4 so I got to stay and plus I got to get my epidural...Well I waited some more time and about 4 hours later they checked me again and I was a 6 so I figured goodness I am going to be here FOREVER...well an hour later they checked me again and I was a 8 mind you I wasn't feeling anything so I was trying to sleep but was so excited that I couldn't even sleep. Well they checked me about 30 minutes later and I was a 10 they couldn't believe it. Well they said are you OK how do you feel I was like I am fine. So they said they were going to the next door because a lady was yelling to help her f***ing pain so they went to go give her her epidural and said that the contractions while I waited would push him down and make it easier for me. Well when they came back his head was pratically already right there and so I pushed a couple of times and he was born. Well he had had a bowel movement before he was born and swallowed some of it so he didn't cry when he was born and also my bf didn't get to cut the cord nor did they let me see him for very long...(He is OK by the way just precautionary measures they had to take). Well the delivery wasn't that bad pretty easy I would say but afterwards I had it bad...When they took the epidural needle out of my back I immediatly got very itchy over my body I couldn't stand it and they told me it was just a sideeffact. Like 2 hours later I had a headache..I kept telling them and they kept giving me medicine for it. Come to find out I had a side effect to the epidural they punched a hole in my spine when I would stand or sit up the fluid would go to my brain and for a whole week I had the worst headache possible. Worse than a migraine. You wouldn't believe the pain it is worse than actually being in labor. When you lay down it is fine and when you stand or sit up the pain is there. Well I went back to the emergancy room and they did a spinal patch which is when they put blood from your arm into your spine to patch up the hole. Well it is supposed to have a 98% success rate...well I guess I am in the 2% because it didn't work. Anyway a week later it went away and now I am fine enjoying my baby. So my suggestion if you can handle it without the epidural go for it!!

Baby Avant 1 Month Update:

Avant is doing good we went to the doctor today and he weighs 10 pounds and 7 ounces. He is doing good and just growing big. He amazes me everday and how much he changes. I am cherishing every moment with him before I have to go back to work...He is absolutly wonderful!!

Baby Avant 2 Month Update:

Avants is growing SO MUCH! He weighs 12 pounds and 13 ounces. He is advancing so much talking, and he is so strong. I am back at work now and he is in daycare.....but that was hard but now it is going good.

Baby Avant 3 Month Update:

Well my little handsome just keep getting bigger. He now weighs 13 pounds and 6 ounces and is 24 inches long. He is way too cute!! He talks so much and he is reaching for things and also is already holding on to things!! I just love him sooo much!

Baby Avant 7 Month Update:

Ok I know I haven't updated in a little while. Avant is now almost 7 months. He has grown SOOO fast. He now weight 19 pounds 15 ounces and is 26 inches long. He is so funny he rolls around stands up talks sings everything. He is such a joy to be around!! I love him so much!!!
