Rebekahs-mama - Wednesday, 13 August
Hi! I had my appointment this morning and everything went just fine. The baby was moving all over the place so it was hard for Dr.Fogarty to "catch it" long enough to get a really good listen. lol! Apparently we have a very active baby! She said I could schedule my appointment the same week as yours but when I went to make it there weren't any spots left. I guess the tech is taking half days that week. SO ANNOYING! So I have to wait until the 10th to find out what we're having. I already had a sitter line up to watch Bekah, too! ARG! Oh well. Now I'll just have to make other arrangements I guess.

So how's your week going? Have you felt your baby moving yet? I get a slight flutter and a few pokes here and there but nothing really steady yet. I remember I was getting kicked all over the place by my big appointment during my last pregnancy so I suspect it will probably be the same way this time. I just pray he or she cooparates and spreads their legs wide! lol! Then that's the last time it's allowed to do that until it's an adult! hehehehe!!!

Thank you so much for the advice and for putting my mind at ease. I just got the results.... PASS! Ugh, I wish they would just start out with the three hour test. I was a nervous wreck.

Rebekahs-mama - Monday, 11 August
Hi! Thanks for the well wishes. I realized the other day that we're going to have to have a baby sitter for Bekah because the ultrasound alone takes about an hour and then we still have to see the doc! So I have one lined up for the 2nd...one day before I hit 20 weeks. It would be awesome if I could get in then. At least I'd have an excuse, right? lol! I guess I'll know on Wednesday what she says.

Rebekahs-mama - Thursday, 7 August
Hey Jessica! Yes, Linda is so great! And Sue is, too. She's the other midwife whom I bet you'll meet at some point. She actually delivered Bekah! How exciting to have your big scan scheduled! I was going to ask if they'd do mine on the 3rd as well. I'll be exactly 20 weeks that day and I pray they won't make me wait an extra week to find out the sex! How funny about "fighting" over whether or not to find out. Thank God Kevin's just as impatient as me. Although we have talked about the possibility of waiting to find out if we have a third...but only if this one turns out to be a boy. At that point we'd have all we needed for either sex so we wouldn't have to get prepared ahead of time, ya know? I just don't know if we'd have the patience, though. Anyhow, I'm so glad things are still going well. It's fantastic hearing that thumping beat every month, isn't it? I can't wait until next week to hear my little sweetheart once again! I'll let you know how eveyrthing goes. xoxoxox Amanda

Rebekahs-mama - Friday, 1 August
Hey Jessica! We're doing great! I was thinking about you yesterday and wondering if you had an appointment coming up. I just hadn't had a chance to write yet. My next appointment isn't until the 13th, so another couple weeks. It would be great if they told you what you're having. Good luck with that! lol! I know they didn't tell me the last time until my big ultrasound at 20 weeks. Will you be getting an ultrasound next week?

We're really happy with our van so far. We went to Van's Vans in Webb City. I know they sell some really nice cars, too and I highly recommend checking them out. They're really great people to work with and they did everything they could to stick to our budget...and then threw in a two year warranty as well! If we ever need another car we'll definitely go back!

Have you felt your baby move at all yet? I felt a few little tiny pokes last night for the first time. It was awesome! I know it was right around this time last year when I first felt Rebekah's little pokes, so I was waiting for them this time. lol!

Anyhow, I really hope you're doing well. Have a great weekend! xoxox Amanda

hey! sorry about your frequent UTIs. i get them all the time too. im from week 11! the best advice i have for you is to make sure you pee before and after sex. it flushes out any bacteria thats getting in there during the deed. and wipe front to back when you pee. hope this helps for the future! best wishes!

Hi all just wanted to let you know that the cruise was fabulous..all is well with baby..yes, I broke down on the ship and had an u/s on ship and there he was sucking his thumb and being adorable. the doctor called all the staff in to see my little guy as many have never seen an u/s. One guy started to cry and said that was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen on the ship...I had to agree! I swear I could stare at my baby all day.:) So, now I am in NY and tomorrow I take the train and see my hubby after two weeks and start the joy of house hunting and then house settling. We came back to sad news. My grandmother passed away while I was on the ship..she was a grand ole 102!! But I looked fwd to sharing my baby with her...but as my friend said, now she has a front row seat!:) But my uncle with whom she had been living the last 8 years along with my aunt is in critical condition and I worry my aunt may lose her husband and mother in the same week. He has pneumonia and then had a heart attack in the hospital and is now bleeding internally...so if you could spare a prayer for him, please offer one up. We are waiting to hear funeral arrangements as all eyes are on my uncle right now. But, we, baby and me are fine...just saddened. so thanks for all your thoughts while i was traveling!!I am so glad now I took the cruise but was worried at the length of it...but glad we are here and still going fine! NY is hot and now rainy but great to back in the USA!

Rebekahs-mama - Wednesday, 16 July
lol I know exactly what you mean. It seems so far away to have to wait until September to find out, doesn't it? I can't wait either. I don't know how people go their entire pregnancies without finding out!

So your skin doesn't like you being pregnant, huh? Ugh, that sucks. Hopefully your dermatologist can help you out with that. With my first pregnancy I broke out in this wierd rash all over my body. It never itched or hurt, thank goodness, but it was pretty ugly looking. I'm SOO glad it's stayed away this time!

Anyhow, I hope the rest of your week goes well. Take care! xoxoxox Amanda

Rebekahs-mama - Wednesday, 16 July
Hi! I just wanted to write and let you know my appointment went super yesterday. Sorry for the delay in letting you know! The baby's heartbeat was strong and steady! YAY! How are you feeling this week?

melmelwel32 - Monday, 14 July
I love that name and have ben trying to convince my hubby- lol. He thinks it sounds like an old man- lol.... I am on your side! He looks like an Evan- =)

Rebekahs-mama - Saturday, 12 July
Oh I know what you mean about hitting the milestones. It's so wonderful when you finally feel comfortable with starting to buy baby stuff. Well, and it also helps to know the sex. I guess a lot can't be bought until you do...unless you go gender neutral with a lot of things like we did. We did everything gender neutral except for the clothes just because we didn't want to have to buy new things if we ever have a boy (which could be very soon!).

Oh, and the books are all like, "It's so wonderful when you and hubby are the only ones who know you're pregnant b/c no one else can tell." I was like, come on, where's my belly! I want the whole world to know asap! lol! But you know what was annoying...I never got very big and there were people who still couldn't tell I was preggers when I was in my 9th month! How annoying is that? I didn't get all the special treatment like all my friends did when they were pregnant. Oh well...

Well, thanks for the good thoughts for Monday. I'll let you know how things go! xoxox Amanda

Rebekahs-mama - Thursday, 10 July
Oh good! I'm so glad your appointment went well! I was praying for you this morning hoping everything would be perfect. I bet the big ultrasound will come quicker than you expect. It seems like time's going very fast for me...what about you? I know a lot of the other ladies due around our time keep saying it's dragging, which I remember happening to me with my first pregnancy.

Thanks for the well wishes for Monday. On one hand I can't wait to go and on the other I'm dreading it. I'm just praying all is well with baby #2, ya know? Well, I hope your weekend is nice and relaxing. Take care! I'll drop a note after my appointment to let you know how things go. xoxox Amanda

juniper willow - Thursday, 10 July
yes it was the particular test but it was the u/s part of the test. The NT screen is a very clear and vivid u/s that they blow up on a huge screen in fron of you..literally your baby is about 3 feet..:) so it is very easy to see what the sex is and they measure internal organs that have developed and well he was developed.:) I am so happy for your 13 weeks! it is so exciting!

Rebekahs-mama - Wednesday, 9 July
Hi! I'm so glad you're feeling better. I bet it was the antibiotics you were on. I was on some last week because my strep B was acting up (I'm a carrier) so Dr. Fogarty wanted it to calm down. I really think the drugs were making me sick, too. I've felt so much better since finishing them off.

Unfortunatley we won't find out what we're having until 20 weeks at our big ultrasounds. It seems so far away, doesn't it? Dr. Fogarty doesn't do extra ultrasounds unless she feels there's a problem. So we have to wait. I remember being so impatient the last time! I am this time, too...but the time seems to be going by so quickly for me that it will be here soon enough.

I know what you mean about starting to look pregnant. I posted a new belly pic today and can't really see any difference again. It's crazy, because I feel so much more pregnant but it's just not showing much at all. Oh well. It will eventually.

Well, let me know how your appointment goes tomorrow. I'll pray all is perfect with your little one. Take care and have a great day! xoxox Amanda

juniper willow - Wednesday, 9 July
hi there as you all know by my blog..IT IS A BOY..but I wanted to share the rest of my NT screen tests with you because many have asked. The measuremenst wer immediately read and were great 1.5 and well within "normal" they then took blood for what they call a second testing..and we got ourt blood results back yesterday...these screens just give you a risk factor and cannot rule out DS or other problems completely but...Before the test due to our ages and family history our chances of achild with DS was 1 in 68..kind of scary and then they called yesterday and said our reulst were fabulous and the now risk factor is 1 in 1,312...the same risk as a healthy 20 year old!! So, they said to enjoy my 20 year old body.:) who knew!:) anyway, we weren't gping to do an amnio anyway due to tyhe risk factor and of course, we'd be keeping our little boy regradless but the doctor said he wouldn't even suggest one with these results and that he would just do teh quad 4 and the u/s at 20 weeks so we are! Just wanted to update ya'll...still packing away and tryyingh to get ready..can't believe I am leaving europe in just 5 days!! what a new life we have ahead of us!

Rebekahs-mama - Wednesday, 9 July
Hey Jessica! How was your week? Mine went by so quickly! I can't believe I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow! YAY! And how are you feeling? I know you must be excited about your appointment on Thursday. Mine's not until Monday, so I'm hoping the time keeps going by nice and fast. lol!
