My name is Renee.. I have 2 boys and I am married. My husband is in the Army and we are stationed at Fort Bragg (unfortuantly lol) I do not like it here even though we have been here for 4 yrs now (I cant wait to leave lol).. My husband came home Oct 27th, he was in Iraq for 15 months.. it was the hardest thing ever!!

Im mainly here to chat and get to know everyone over the months, I do not know anyone where we live and have no friends lol.. but I cant complain to much, Im the mother of 2 wonderful boys, 3 and 7

UPDATE 4/22/08

Well I just found out that my husband is going back to Iraq in November.. So when the baby is a few weeks old he will leave us again.. He just got back October 27th from nearly 1 1/2 years in Iraq and now hes going again for 1 year.. I feel like my whole world is turned up side down and I dont know how I can go through another deployment again. It is the hardest thing ever! 3 children.. 6, 2, and soon to be newborn.. I am so sad!

Doctor had us start Logan on the Alimentum yesterday. Been about 24 hours now.
This morning he had a huge discusting poop...looked like the runs and smelled god awful. And he hasn't pooped since, but has been on and off fussy and turning red grunting.
This sound pretty normal to you for just starting Alimentum?

Thank you ladies for your thoughts and comments!! I really appreciate it!! I'm doing well -- I actually do not feel like I just had a baby. It's the weirdest thing!! Asher is doing great. We had a weight check yesterday at the doctors bc we're having issues with bfing still -- and he's still 6.5lbs. But we're getting there. Thanks again for all your comments!!!

Hi Renee, just wanted to stop by and say thanks for your advice. I have read newborns go through growth spurts around 2 weeks and then again around 6 weeks so I kinda figured that's what it was. My mom and MIL keep telling me to give her "just a little" bit of cereal but I've listened to her pediatrician and haven't yet. I think the formula alone is fine, as long as she's gaining weight, which she is. Anyways, thanks for the advice! Hope you and your little ones are doing good =D

I use cow and gate and formula number 2 is from birth to 12 months its just for hungrier babies. I would never give her something that she was not meant to have.

Ok, I know the ones but i have no idea what we call them here I think Kmart sell them, I will check it out when hubby gets home and i can escape for a bit.
Rubbing in circles I haven't tried, just the standard over my shoulder or in my chest. She doesnt really burp often, sometimes she will let one rip, others nothing.
I told Tim, we really cant be expected to know much after 2 weeks of being parents and we still need to get to know her, we have had non stop visitors which has been nice but too much. I have the in laws coming today as well and i set them straight, if she is sleeping bad luck. If she is tired she will be put to sleep, again bad luck.
I know they want to see her but its up to me and only me to make sure her needs are met above people wants.
plus, im the one who has to deal with it when they leave and she is over tired again so i put my foot down

She isnt gassy or at least she wont burp at all for me. She will spit up a little about an hour after a feed but no more than a table spoon so normal spit up really.
Poo is regular and wet, the health sister said it might be too much milk and her learning to deal with the amount. I have to feed her sitting up or over the nipple as her little stomach cant deal with all the milk if it gushes, not that its helped as all its done is make her feed more often as she needs to work harder and gets less for her efforts.
What is a boppy? Sorry, I'm Australian so gripe water is another thing i have no idea about. I have heard the dairy thing and am trying to cut down and take calcium suppliments instead. This is hard work being a Mum isnt it ha ha ha.
Thanks so much for your help by the way, your the only one who makes any sense and I really appreciate the time you are spending in helping me get to the bottom of this and your support
