I am currently pregnant with my first baby. I found out I was pregnant in December 07 and took about 3-4 tests to confirm it because I hadn't missed my period yet and it was a faint positive. My husband and I went up to Lake Tahoe for the weekend and I took one but didn't tell him so it came out positive but then I said let's go to the store and get a test (to be sure) so we did and it came out positive. We were both ecstatic. That night we went to the casino (this little smoke free casino called Bills that we absolutely love because everyone is so cool and down to earth) and my husband had the best luck that night. I guess it was just his night.
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was about 20 so we had a hard time getting pregnant but the first time we decided to use the shots it happened. We have been pretty blessed so far even though this pregnancy has not been easy lately. I currently have PIH - Pregnancy Induced Hypertension and they are monitoring me weekly to see if it turns into preeclampsia. My work schedule was cut to 5 1/2 or 6 hours a day but its much better than being taken off and not have as much time with my little one after he is born.
We found out we are having a boy in March 08 but I knew all along. Just instinct I guess. I can't wait to meet my little man!

wow! its amazing our our situations are almost exactly alike as well as our timelines. I am 36 weeks as of today (friday) and so far, all of my labs (blood work) have been fine and so have my urine dips. But she did say that often urine dips can show no protein (mine was only trace) and that a 24 urine would show the real deal.. and I get those results on Monday. The plan is that I will find out my induction date on Monday as well. My issues are blood pressures that are increasing- but stable at bedrest. And severe pitting edema. They are saying the same to me.... they would like to induce me in between 37-38 weeks, which is only a week or two away! crazy!!! So you are on bed rest too??

Thanks for the info. My protein amount was only 146 but they will be watching it. My doc already told me that bed-rest was the next step. At first I told her I couldn't afford it and now I don't care anymore so I'm gonna go ahead and have her write the order! Good luck and keep me posted!

iim going through the same thing... at 36 weeks I will probably be induced in a week or two. SCARY! I am very nervous! So, what did you 24 hr urine show? And were your labs normal or abnormal (blood studies) I am just wondering because so far my blood studies are normal, and they collected my 24 hr urine today.

Usually doctors will give you more time if you are suffering from Postpartum depression.

My family or my Hubby's family dosn't do shyt for us and the boys.. They were suppose to throw me a baby shower wt my second becuz I gave up all David's baby stuff to friends and family, didn't think I was gonna have anymore, well I gave birth and still no baby shower and now he's 1 yrs old.. So this time around I was hoping they will but I know they're not so I've been really sore wt them.. We did this pollyanna thing, where I wrote all the baby stuff I needed in a bag and whatever they picked, they will have to buy, well guess wht? None of them bought anything! (sighs) It's okay we been on CraigsList and Freecycle getting the baby's stuff togther..
I just hope the baby stays inside long enough for me to get a couple more things..
